Review your size
I recommend trying on the boots in store. I ended up getting a size 2 sizes smaller than what I usually wear in other brands. I was wearing and will wear regular athletic socks with the boots, so I recommend wearing your preferred sock style when trying out different sizes.

My Bean Boots are turning 20
My Dad got me a pair of bean boots when I was 20, and this year I turn 40 and the bean boots turn 20. I get them resoled as needed, and they last and last. (Dad gets his boots resoled as needed too. Dads: the original hipsters.) I am an Mainer and I like that the boots are made in Maine and resoled in Maine. I like that I can get them fixed instead of throwing them away. I like that they pair well with jeans and they keep my feet dry and are comfy. When my son is a little bigger, I hope to get him a pair.

Extremely large, elastic at top was stretched out
I bought these as a 25th birthday gift for my daughter. I sized down per the instructions but they were HUGE. Her feet slipped right out of them. The elastic at the top was very stretched out as well and served no purpose.

Perfectly perfect
I typically wear a 7.5 and the 6.5 is perfect to wear with thick socks. Definitely size down. They stay on through rocky hikes and are so comfy for miles of doggie walks too! Absolutely love the ease of slip on/off and the 6.5” shaft on my stubby 5’4” frame. Very flattering.

Exceeds the Hype
Wow. This is my first “Bean Boot” and they 100% live up to the hype. You can feel the quality craftsmanship when you wear them. I love the convenience of the Chelsea boot style as I don’t have to worry about taking the time to tie them. I can easily slip them on to walk the dog, take my daughter to school, shovel the drive, go to the store, etc.! I could not be more happy with this purchase!

Runs big but love!
Absolutely love these boots and the ease of getting them on and off. I bought 8.5 originally and they were very big. Sized down to 8 which is still a bit large, but with the right thick socks they fit perfectly and are very comfy.

Great boots
Definitely follow the suggestion to size down! I went the full size down as recommended and the fit was just right. I have a small bunion on my right foot and probably could have gone with a half size down to accommodate it as the right boot was a bit tight at first.., but it’s better now. The left boot was a perfect fit going one size down.

Epically disappointing
These boots are SO cheaply made. I can’t believe they were made in the USA. The stitches are fake and the glue that barely holds them together is visible and sticky, The leather is also cheap. These boots were the only thing I asked for Christmas and I’m so sad about them.

Love them!
I have been wearing these non-stop since they arrived. I've shoveled snow, done errands, etc. They are comfortable to walk around in for hours. A warm pair of wool socks and my feet have been warm on sub-20F days.

So comfortable!
I have always wanted a pair of these Chelsea duck boots. Finally I was in a place where I could afford the real thing. At the same time my plantar’s fasciitis flared up.
To my surprise and delight these boots are the best footwear I have right now! Something about the heel cup/construction really cradles my painful heel. I can walk and stand for hours with little discomfort!
These boots are a God send, beautifully stitched, (thank you Kimberly!) and feel like they were made just for me!

Bean boot
I sized down as recommended and although it fit the length of my foot, the leather area around the ankle was huge. It felt as if I was going to walk out of them. Also glue along the seam between the leather and the rubber was clearly visible and wanting to separate and would have not long after use. I love LLBean and have been very pleased with other purchases so I was super excited for these boots and but was sorely disappointed.

I had great hopes for these as a slip-on slip-off. Alas, they have the same problem as my old LLB boots--they are theoretically slip-on but have a very hard half-lining which cuts into my foot when I try to pull them on. I'm returning these new ones with much disappointment.

I wish I could have kept these
I generally take a size 8, and so ordered a size 7. Too big. Returned them to an LL Bean store and tried on a 6 (too small) and a 6.5 . . . which fit lengthwise, but not width-wise. Not a common issue for me. Argh. Getting a different boot--one that comes in a wide width--and will dream of the day when I can get these gorgeous black and green boots in "wide."

I have a pair of the bean boot Mocs which I really love but wanted something that would go up a little higher over the ankle for snowy weather as the Mocs have me covered in the rain/wet weather. I bought a pair of 8” bean boots and promptly sent them back. They went too high up the leg IMO for what I was looking for and I really thought it was a hassle trying to get them on and off the way the tongue is designed. I thought I would try this style and I’m so glad I did! Ordered a pair in the khaki/cream shade and it was love at first slip on! The loops on the boot make getting them off and on a breeze and as a bonus no bending over to tie laces or laces coming undone. The insoles are surprisingly really comfortable considering the sole has a steel shank. The leather is supple and the stitching is top notch. Cannot speak to how warm they will be in the snow but I guess that’s what wool socks are for 😂 I loved these so much I just bought another pair in the blue! Definitely get a size down though

Great Little Boot
Another L.L. Bean classic that’s actually made in Maine! Ordered a full size down and it fit perfectly. Very comfortable and easy to get on, especially with the lower cut than other L.L. Bean boots that I have. Would recommend this to others but remember to order a full size down.
