Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boot but does run a little small. Read all the reviews and decided to order up one size and the fit is perfect. The clasps loosing up quickly and after leaning the order to loosen and tighten the laces, it became a non issue. These boots are very light, warm and extremely comfortable. I am very happy with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great waterproof and lightweight boots! These boots are super lightweight and are waterproof. More than anything I'm writing the review to state they are easy to get on and take off. Other reviews on here claiming difficulties with getting them on and off. Those are end user errors who don't understand how laces work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beans Despite being made by a company with bean in the name the shoes are not actually made of beans at all. I do love how light they are but I wish they were a little easier to unlace.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from To tight - Forever to lace. They run way to small. I think these boots are made for women. It is almost impossible to lace them up. Don't belive me . Be brave and buy a pair. The quality of Bean's products has gone way down hill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Favorites! Featherweight is best, no break-in, good grip soles, warm. Lacing system a bit tedious and definitely not a work boot but overall great boots!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good boot but hard to get on Getting the boots on are a chore, but when they are on they're warm and light. The loosening and tightening of the string is tedious and the neck(?) of the boot is a little too tight for stepping into. I have since donated them to a local shelter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tried & true I bought these a couple years ago, right after the redesign of the 1st generation. The wide option is key for me—thank you footwear designers! The best attributes are the warmth, comfort & light weight. They are WP, but if you try hard enough, you can get your feet wet. For me that’s happened once, & that alone earns them a 5th star. The lacing is a little odd toward the top; they’ll catch at the ankle & not pull snug below, so you have to go down & pull them through loop by loop when you want a perfect fit. The upside to the lacing is that once they’re in place, they do not slip. At all. Another 5-star attribute. If/when the next-gen is up for design, I have only 2 recommendations: offer an extra-wide width (I’m a 4E!); and an Arctic Grip version. That would make these boots p-e-r-f-e-c-t. Thanks for making these! Disclosure: I’m a Beaner.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Needs a design correction Design for the laces is awful. This is my worst LL Bean purchase. I never did get the laces loose enough to try the boot on. Will be returning. Info on length and width sb na but unable to submit without moving the slider on these questions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from wicked good winter boot I needed a warm, waterproof boot that was roomy for me to use a toe warmer(I'm a liftie at a ski resort so I'm on snow for 8 hours), and this boot fit the requirements needed. I bought the men's version because I have uber-wide feet, and using a toe warmer would make it wider still. These boots worked-not only are they comfortable and kept my feet warm, the lacing system was dope--none of that slippage that happens when laces get wet. The reason why I gave only 4 stars is because they weren't as waterproof as I thought. To be fair, we had a massive rain/snow storm and I suspect 8 hours with that going on broke the waterproof barrier. no matter--I used a waterproof spray, and now they're great again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lace up time needed Takes time to lace up and need to open laces to get foot in. Would be better with top two laces in catches instead of holes. Otherwise lightweight and great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy Shoveling These boots are warm and have a great tread for slippery surfaces

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent winter boots! These may be called men's boots, but being a woman with large feet living in a snowy climate, they are perfect--tough, warm, comfortable top quality and so light! I also think they're good-looking, but then I'm not a fan of girlie-looking winter boots that don't do the job. Very happy with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indiana snow tested. Great pair of boots I Recomme Outstanding snow boots, very light weight and keeps your feet dry and warm.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Boot Laces Lacing the boot was annoying and difficult. Sizing was a bit snug.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Odd Boot Initially I thought this might be a worthwhile addition to my LL Bean boot collection, which goes back half a century. Wrong..The laces take forever to do and undo...as well as one of the lace pass through is extremely tight. The nylon fabric is stiff and the "leather" is not genuine. This may be the worst purchase I've ever made from LL Bean!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Def a good boot! Worked great for our trip North! Great boot! Kept the water out (even if it was moist from my sweaty feet. Haha). Weighs almost nothing. The rubber sole was great in slick surfaces. My only neg is that I bought the wide size and it was still a bit narrow for my Fred Flintstone like feet. It stretched some after a couple of days

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Men's Ultralight Insulated Boots This design I found not user friendly. The lacing technique and pull up strap were both awkward. No rating was provided because I did not keep them long enough. I would not stray from the many many decades and I mean many decades of "conventional" lacing. I purchased mostly for the light weight, height and sole. A bit disappointed though I know life could be worse. Been boots and shoes have been my go to for several decades in fact my entire wardrobe could possibly be LLbean.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Look great but don't fit well I just recently bought a pair because they looked awesome and looked just as good when I received them. However, the design with the laces makes it very hard to put them on and take off. Also, the shoes are very narrow. If you have wider feet like mine, these are not the boots for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and comfortable These boots are very warm. I have not yet had the chance to try them out in snow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the boots but oh those laces! Great boots in terms of warmth & particularly weight ( my old insulated boots weighed just over 4 lbs & my legs ached after wearing them for any length of time). Walked over three miles on damp & slightly uneven terrain and were very comfortable. But those laces. The eyelets are very tight & they’re a struggle to lace up & unlace. Maybe a more slippery material for or bigger eyelets. Reviews complained they were too narrow for wide feet but your description says “one width:D” duuuh!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good boots, flawed lacing These boots are lightweight, comfortable, and warm, just what I was looking for to replace my old Bean Boots in their primary application of snow removal around the house. Why not five stars? Because instead of lacing holes or hooks, these boots have many leather-like loops through which the mid-weight laces barely fit. The friction between loop and lace is strong and the spacing is close, making it difficult to pull the laces through the loops to loosen or tighten them. Since the boots are high top (just what you need in snow), it is necessary to loosen them a lot to get in and out and tighten them to stay on. It takes several minutes in each direction!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WARM!!! I've had these boots for almost a year. They are my snow shoveling boots. They have had plenty of use over the past year and still look like new. The fit is good. I'm female with oddly wide feet so, my fit experience may not be useful for most folks. They take a little bit of fussing to get on and off since they are lace up, but that feature helps to keep the snow out better than my pull on boots. Traction is good in the snow. I remember slipping and falling on ice last year. No "normal" boot provides traction on ice. A "bomb cyclone" went though last night and left us with a few inches of snow and frigid temperatures. When it warmed up to negative four degrees F, I decided I'd better go clear the driveway before the temperatures start falling again. One, typical, suburban, 2 car driveway and sidewalk later, my fingers, inside of amazingly warm ski mittens, were in agony from the cold. But, my feet, inside of these boots with ONE pair of wool socks were toasty and happy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wide Isn't Wide I purchased the wide version of these boots in 2021 and they were uncomfortably narrow when I bought them in my correct size. I had to wait a year to be able to order them a half-size up to get them more comfortable and the difference was negligible. Maybe after I break them in it will be better but I doubt it. I honestly can't believe the label that says they're wide. If I wore a thick wool sock these would be a very tight fit. Outside of the size, I used the first pair last winter in Connecticut and they did a good job keeping my feet warm and dry. I would recommend them to a friend (who has narrow feet).
