Rated 1 out of 5 by from Men's Ultralight Insulated Boots This design I found not user friendly. The lacing technique and pull up strap were both awkward. No rating was provided because I did not keep them long enough. I would not stray from the many many decades and I mean many decades of "conventional" lacing. I purchased mostly for the light weight, height and sole. A bit disappointed though I know life could be worse. Been boots and shoes have been my go to for several decades in fact my entire wardrobe could possibly be LLbean.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Look great but don't fit well I just recently bought a pair because they looked awesome and looked just as good when I received them. However, the design with the laces makes it very hard to put them on and take off. Also, the shoes are very narrow. If you have wider feet like mine, these are not the boots for you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightest boot Lightweight boot. I have small heels so I get some heel slippage but great otherwise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and comfortable These boots are very warm. I have not yet had the chance to try them out in snow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the boots but oh those laces! Great boots in terms of warmth & particularly weight ( my old insulated boots weighed just over 4 lbs & my legs ached after wearing them for any length of time). Walked over three miles on damp & slightly uneven terrain and were very comfortable. But those laces. The eyelets are very tight & they’re a struggle to lace up & unlace. Maybe a more slippery material for or bigger eyelets. Reviews complained they were too narrow for wide feet but your description says “one width:D” duuuh!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good boots, flawed lacing These boots are lightweight, comfortable, and warm, just what I was looking for to replace my old Bean Boots in their primary application of snow removal around the house. Why not five stars? Because instead of lacing holes or hooks, these boots have many leather-like loops through which the mid-weight laces barely fit. The friction between loop and lace is strong and the spacing is close, making it difficult to pull the laces through the loops to loosen or tighten them. Since the boots are high top (just what you need in snow), it is necessary to loosen them a lot to get in and out and tighten them to stay on. It takes several minutes in each direction!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WARM!!! I've had these boots for almost a year. They are my snow shoveling boots. They have had plenty of use over the past year and still look like new. The fit is good. I'm female with oddly wide feet so, my fit experience may not be useful for most folks. They take a little bit of fussing to get on and off since they are lace up, but that feature helps to keep the snow out better than my pull on boots. Traction is good in the snow. I remember slipping and falling on ice last year. No "normal" boot provides traction on ice. A "bomb cyclone" went though last night and left us with a few inches of snow and frigid temperatures. When it warmed up to negative four degrees F, I decided I'd better go clear the driveway before the temperatures start falling again. One, typical, suburban, 2 car driveway and sidewalk later, my fingers, inside of amazingly warm ski mittens, were in agony from the cold. But, my feet, inside of these boots with ONE pair of wool socks were toasty and happy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wide Isn't Wide I purchased the wide version of these boots in 2021 and they were uncomfortably narrow when I bought them in my correct size. I had to wait a year to be able to order them a half-size up to get them more comfortable and the difference was negligible. Maybe after I break them in it will be better but I doubt it. I honestly can't believe the label that says they're wide. If I wore a thick wool sock these would be a very tight fit. Outside of the size, I used the first pair last winter in Connecticut and they did a good job keeping my feet warm and dry. I would recommend them to a friend (who has narrow feet).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME....... These boots appear to be excellent for their intended purpose - IN THE ADVERTISING. But when you get your hands on the actual product, their usefulness drops to zero, because of the stupid lace-up system, that is near impossible to get tightened (or loosened). I returned these for a refund, which LL Bean processed quickly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissatisfied I’ve had them less than a month and the sole of the shoe is separating

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Way Too Narrow Like many of the other reviews state, these boots are very narrow. I took a chance on them because they look nice, were on sale, and were available in EE width, which I purchased. As soon as I opened the box I knew I would have to send them back. They are unusually narrow, even in the wider width sizing. I wish they fit because I like the style and they are really lightweight. I hope L.L. Bean re-releases these in a normal width.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from First time making shoes? Two things, first one right out of the box. First, the shoelace snagged on the only metal eyelet on the boot. This is d/t a manufacturing fault. All eyelets are supposed to be smooth so they do not catch on the laces, pretty basic stuff. Normally this wouldnt damage the laces too much but the laces on this specific boot have a characteristic where if you snag a tiny string like this, the whole lace started to come undone around the pulled string. After a few months of wearing them the glue holding the soft soles yo the bottom of the hard sole section has started to come apart. Honestly just really poor craftsmanship and not worth a penny over 35 bucks. Never buying ll bean again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fine, lightweight boots; laces are poorly designed So far I really like these boots. I gave them four stars rather than five because of the laces. The materials used in the eyelets and the laces have too much friction, and the laces are difficult to adjust. Smoother eyelet material would alleviate this problem. Fit is a little tight, as the other reviews have stated, but I ordered my regular shoe size, and they fit fine with socks that are not too thick. I bought them for spring mushrooming, and after several outings I'm very pleased. They're the lightest boots I've ever owned! The lining and footbed are soft and comfortable on steep terrain. I recommend them, but the laces will take some getting used to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really a lite boot I like this boot because it is light like it’s advertised, it hasn’t been bad weather since I bought them so I can’t rate them other than being light, they look well made? Time will tell.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Had to order one size up to get the right fit Great looking boot! Warm and feels like it will be a great winter boot but not for long hiking. Boots seem to run small! I wear a size 12 and had to exchange them for a 13 since they were too narrow in toe area. The one size up feels right!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor construction The sole separates the first day I wore them. But they are super comfortable and super warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect lightweight winter boot I bought these for snowshoeing, but they have proved far more versatile than I expected. They are remarkably lightweight, but warm, comfortable and genuinely waterproof. A perfect winter boot if you're not doing heavy hiking.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Boots They are warm and comfortable but hard to get on and off. they lace all the way; would rather have hooks for the last three lacings. They fit well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice boots good on ice. good room in toe box for hammer toes. difficult to get on and off

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wide - Not Wide Ordered these boots because they were one of the few LL Bean snow boots offered in a wide size (8 wide in my case). Unfortunately they were tighter than another model LL. Bean snow boot I ordered in an 8 medium. Kept the other boots and returned these boots. In my opinion, LL Bean needs to work on their size offerings.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too narrow!! Boots are waaaaaay to narrow!! A perfect boot ruined because it’s made Too narrow
Date published: 2022-02-18
Rated 3 out of 5 by from The boots are fine, but lacing them is a pain It is difficult to adjust the laces because the fabric loops that hold the laces grip them so they don't slide easily. I need to loosen the laces to put them on and then tighten them and then reverse the process when I take them off. It takes longer than I would like to do this each time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome boots Bought these to walk the dog on the cold mornings. No break in time was required. We walk 2 miles each morning and these are both really comfortable and really warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All around great snow boots These hiking shoes are great for rain, slush and snow. Fully waterproof. I went into puddles 2-3 inches in depth and my feet were dry. These boots are extremely lightweight and provide good ankle support. Insulation is OK and traction is not great on ice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too narrow Very light, but too narrow and I have never had an issue with width.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable AND Warm I expected these to be comfortable boots — they are. What surprised me was the fact that they are warm, as well. I wore them several hours in 10 - 20 degree weather with no problem.
