Cresta Hiking Pants
These pants are very comfortable and have enough pockets so I don't have to use the back pockets. My wife likes the way they look, always an important thing. I can wear them in place of jeans during the summer.

Great all-around pants
Great fit, wonderfully comfortable, excellent utility yet also looks good for semi-dress-up. Favorite pant! I ordered slightly larger for best fit.

Best pants money can buy!
These pants are very light weight, dry super fast, and never wear out. I still have several pairs that are at least 15 years old that I still wear regularly.

Rugged and light weight
Comfortable, well fit and great in rough country. I have a minor quibble: I have a number of LL Bean winter coats, vests, years and hiking slacks. All of them are very durable except that their zippers need replacement well before the rest of the garment wears out.

zippers a problem
The pants themselves are great. But the zippers for the pockets are a problem. One becomes inoperable within a couple of years on virtually every pair I've had. Most recently, a zipper broke within weeks of purchasing the pants.

I’m panting!
These pants are great. Lightweight and comfortable. I really like the “cargo” pockets cuz they are inside and not baggy. One drawback is the stitching outlining the pockets. It’s just for show and not attractive.

Happy, so far
I like the fit, the light weight, the stretchiness, and the fact that since they are nylon, they will dry quickly. I like to wear cotton in hot weather, so we'll see how it goes. They are working well for riding a bicycle in cool weather.

I gave these Cresta hiker pants 4 stars for fit .
I had a surgical procedure done and haven’t been able to wear anything but sweatpants for about 2 1/2 years now . I tried many versions of pants through LLBean and had to send them back . But , finally found some ( cresta hiker pants “ that actually fit me . And look good , casual or a more formal occasion . I’m an avid hiker with a border collie/ blue healer mix . We’ve been hiking for 8 years in northern Michigan . I’ve been a LLBean customer since the 1990’s . These are the most comfortable hiking and every day pants I’ve ever worn .

Great Features
These Cargo pants have everything. The two cargo pockets have zippers and lie flat when empty. The two back pockets also have zippers and are deep enough to not need them, but I use them for extra peace of mind. The front fastener is a snap, not a button which could fall off. I love these things. I'm barely tall enough (5'7") for their shortest inseam - 29". LL Bean doesn't disappoint.

Best Hiking Pants
This still for sale Cresta is the best. The new versions and other hiking pants from Bean are inferior. These last and fit well plus two back pockets that zip are essential. These are the only ones I would buy. Just bought two more and my old pair that’s 5 years old is in great shape.

Nice pants
The pants are very nice. I like the two back pockets with zippers. My only complaint is that the zippered cargo pants are just a bit short for my Motorola Edge Android phone. If it was an inch deeper I wouldn't have to fumble around to zip the pocket up. But the fit is good and they dry out fast in the dryer.

Hiking pants
I'm a guide in the Utah national parks. I've tried all the brands of hiking pants... Bean pants have the best fit. The zippers are long enough. The legs are flared, so they fit easily with hiking boots or low hikers. The pockets are great. Phones zip in.
They look great, right out of the suitcase. Great for traveling.

Disappointing compared to several years ago
My husband already had two pairs of these hiking pants, and wears them very often. He especially loves the stretch in the material, and not just while we’re traveling. Though he has gained weight since 2022, the stretch in the waist still fits him ok. So I ordered the new black color in a 36 waist again, and there was no give in the waistband, though the material seemed the same. He could not get the snaps closer than 1.5” apart. So we ordered a 38 waist pair, which did have more “give” in the waistband. But the pants legs are now wider (looser) which makes them look messy, and more wrinkly. These just aren’t the slightly dressier black Cresta pants we had assumed they would be. Or as great as the blue and gray pairs he has had for 3 years.
