Rated 5 out of 5 by Jamie from Awesome jacket I was a bit skeptical from the reviews but overall this has become my go-to spring jacket. Definitely waterproof (torrential downpour tested) and I have not had any issues with the zipper. Even though it's an athletic/outdoorsy jacket I still feel it is cute & appropriate for rainy days in the city or to wear to work when needed. Definitely recommend. I'm 5'8 about 145-155 pounds (I don't weigh myself often so honestly not sure) and my frame is athletic. Size small fit perfectly even with large sweatshirts and layers underneath. I only wish there were small pockets on the inside as well but the large front ones will do!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Nightfinder from Re-Reviewed After thinking about how much I liked this rain shell a few months ago and after reading how many customers liked (and kept) the coat, I reordered it. I still like the weight, the style, the color (eucalyptus), the length...but that zipper is as unreliable as it was. I have many coats with two-way zippers that work well--including those from LL Bean. All the same, I took time to watch the tutorial. Sorry. Even when the zipper engages properly at the onset, it NEVER slides up smoothly. It must be jerked unwillingly in awkward tiresome spurts. IF LL Bean should offer this otherwise attractive coat with a workable zipper in the future, I would buy it. For me, rain gear is one of those things where practicality outweighs appearance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Traveler from Perfect for travel and every day I purchased this rain jacket because I was looking for something that would pack easily, be lightweight for warmer temperatures but also work well with layers for cooler weather and provide more coverage than a hip length jacket. I give it an A+ in all areas! I wore this in rainy, cool Amsterdam and in torrential, hot rain in Tuscany. I couldn’t have asked for a better jacket. Other reviewers have had issues with the zipper. As long as I pulled the jacket straight will zipping the bottom is was perfectly fine. I’ll be wearing this coat for a long time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Suzieo from Disappointed First of all, I loved the look of the jacket which I ordered in black. The style has a nice youthful vibe to it with all the trim, pockets, etc. However I ordered a small which was my mistake, I usually order a medium which probably would have fit just fine. The problem was the zipper, I could not get it to work, it got stuck the first time I tried it and it took both my husband and I to undo it and then it did the same thing again. Hopefully it was just this coat zipper but I was unwilling to try it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Margarita from Great coat I bought this coat for two week trip to Spain that took place in March. I needed something longer that I could use as a top layer. I used it with a fleece vest or pullover (and someitimes both) Perfect fit but I wasn't sure about the zipper as other reviewers commented on this. It worked really well as long as I paid attention when I started to zip. The quality is wonderful. All the seams are sealed and the various drawstrings are very sturdy and stay in place. What was really a bonus was that it could be easily folded up and put in a day pack as the day got warmer or the rain subsided. It was there when I needed it without creating noticeable extra weight or bulk. I have already recommended it to friends.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Admaven from Waterproof, but fragile. It really is waterproof, but its exterior is 100% nylon, and too thin for any warmth. The "breathable" vents might be an asset in hot weather, but the zipper is temperamental, a real downer for a garment this pricey. I bought it for downpours and its good looks, which is hard to find in a waterproof jacket. But the looks do not extend to the hood, which fits tight to the head. My chief complaint is what it's made of: petroleum. You feel like you're wearing a plastic bag, which isn't far from the truth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jeriwho from More of a shell than a coat, but still very good I purchased this after reading reviews of it. I got mine a size larger than I need because this "coat" is really more of a well designed shell. I wear additional layers under it. But for what it is, it's got the LL Bean quality that we all expect. Good construction, great design. The zipper may be tricky if you don't take care to really lock the two pieces together before you try to zip it up. But I have had no problems. My greatest issue is that I think the price is way too high. But after looking around, this rain jacket is still useful for both warm and cold weather (because I can layer underneath), so it was less expensive than buying a summer rain jacket and a winter rain jacket for walking the dogs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Margarita from Jury is still out I love the look of this coat as I am getting ready for a trip to Spain where the weather will be unpredictable. The coat looks and fits great. I am petite and it is difficult to find something that is truly petite in length of the sleeves, overall length, etc. But I have only tried it on a couple of times and the zipper seems a bit fussy so I will see what happens. Fingers crossed that it is just a matter of getting used it.
