Rated 5 out of 5 by LKLovestheBean from Love it so much I am ordering a 2nd This is exactly the weight I was hoping for. It is great for the Texas climate year round. With central heat and air conditioning our house does not get extremely cold, but a light blanket is necessary. This coverlet is perfect. Our dogs sleep on the bed, so frequent laundering is required. It machine washes, dries and comes out looking great. The fabric has a soft, comfortable pre-washed feel, right out of the package and remains exactly the same after almost a year. The grid pattern makes it easy to put on the bed "straight" and it looks neat!. I am ordering a second one in a different color to coordinate with other duvet covers.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Quicklabs from Falling out of love with this coverlet I have had this for several years now. I love the weight and the soft teal color. I have washed this every few months on cold temperature, gentle cycle. I often air dry it. At first, it was just right. Sadly, the coverlet began to fray towards the end of the first year of use, especially along the very top and bottom. I had hoped that it would hold up a bit better. The queen size was a little long for our bed; we now have a king, and it rises approximately one foot off the floor on either side. Unless you have a very thick mattress, please keep this in mind. I am not sure if LL Bean would be willing to replace this for me at this point...

Rated 5 out of 5 by granny9 from Just What I Was Looking For I wanted something that didn't require a bed skirt, and that I didn't have to fold back or remove every night. I have a high mattress, and my bed frame doesn't require a floor length bedspread, but I could never find anything that reached the frame. Until now. It fit perfectly and doubles as a blanket, so no nightly removal (which my husband is absurdly happy about). But the best part was the customer service. I exchanged colors three times! The people I dealt with couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. I now have the color I want and my bank account has been credited for all the returns. Truly no hassle. I'm very pleased with my purchase and L.L. Bean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jenny03 from Very Pleased! I bought the "nautical red" king coverlet and two shams. I am very pleased with the color and the purchase. The coverlet is large enough that it completely covers the bed, with enough room to tuck pillows under it. Our dog sleeps on our bed and I feel much better having this coverlet on top of my down comforter - it is substantial enough that I don't worry about the down comforter underneath. It is generously sized, which I consider a plus, and the king shams are large enough to fit my king-size down pillows from LL Bean. I have not washed it yet, but am hoping that a cold water wash will help it maintain its original color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Annabellee from Very comfortable Just received and started using this coverlet about week ago. I’m very happy with it as it serves the purpose perfectly so far. I’m using it on its own as a warmer weather blanket and it is so comfortable. Light but substantial and VERY soft. The weave is tight, which is important for me because my kitty has claws and has ruined cotton blankets with looser weaves in the past. Another reviewer mentioned the "kitty proof" aspect of this coverlet, and that sold me. So far, so good. Did I mention it’s very pretty, too? The soft teal is beautiful - a very tranquil hue. It is also sized generously, which is important. All in all, a great purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cosmosmom from Just lovely! I purchased the coverlet and shams in Atlantic blue, and could not be more pleased. The fabric is light-weight, yet substantial. It is not quilted like normally comes to mind when the word "matelasse" is used, so it isn't reversible. It is more like a bed spread fabric, but is perfect for warmer months. The coverlet is generously sized, so much that it was too long for my queen bed, but I turned it down at the top, then covered that area with pillows, and it's really not a problem. I paired it with Bean's ruffled bed skirt, and I love the result. (see photo) Thanks, Bean!

Rated 5 out of 5 by HeartHappyOne from Looks great, wears great and washes great! I love this coverlet! I bought one in khaki for the summer and then in chocolate brown for the winter months. I have dogs and the hair does not imbed in the fibers, it brushes off. Some dirt will just brush off, other spots clean nicely with a damp rag. It washes in a large machine beautifully. Mine have gone through several launderings. You have to regularly untangle it from itself in the dryer but, that's not a big issue to me - the fact that it cleans up so nicely is what matters. King is plenty big enough to tuck in at the foot and sides of my Cal King bed. Bought matching shams for each coverlet and my bed always looks neat with or without the bedspread pulled up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bluebird37 from Beautiful coverlet, highly recommended The material is beautiful, with a nice pattern. The material is thick enough to cover nicely and lay flat, but also flexible and very soft. A feature I hadn't thought of is that the design does not include bits that stick out from the fabric such that they might eventually get snagged. It's comfortable to sit upon when the bed is made. I bought the coverlet instead of the bedspread because the bed I wanted it for has drawers underneath, so I didn't want it to go all the way down to the floor. The pillow sham is nicely done as well. I bought a blue one, and the color was just what I expected. It has a nice, homey look and feel to it.
