Rated 5 out of 5 by dubesor from Pockets I like this vest. It is light, warm and packable. I do have one objection. For the men’s version, the interior stowaway pocket is on the same side as the exterior chest pocket. The interior stowaway pocket is an excellent secure pocket. But if you use both pockets at the same time, the jacket becomes bulgy and unbalanced. However, in the women’s version of this vest (at least the version I saw), the interior stowaway pocket is on the right side of the vest. This is the opposite side of the exterior chest pocket. So if both are being used, the vest is neither bulgy nor unbalanced. Why wasn’t this done for the men’s vest too? Baffled! See catalog pictures as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JDNKC from Improvement over previous I have the old version of the primaloft vest and just purchased this new one. This new one is definatley warmer and the design looks better than the old version, but still has the same LL Bean quality I expect. I will be getting the jacket version of this very soon. Great vest and love that they make this in a tall.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Buckeyetimz from Changes both good and bad I like the style of the newly designed Primaloft Packaway Vest better than the old version. The fabric is softer and the vest is slightly longer than the previous version. However, the arm holes are smaller and tight, even wearing just a t-shirt. The previous version had larger arm holes and was more comfortable and useful in this respect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DrivingToFreeport from Nicely done LL Primaloft has not worked out for me until now. This vest has quickly become my favorite as I find it very stylish, attractive and effective. It is surprisingly warm and I marvel at how something so light can be a nice in between layer without a lot of bulk. It is a perfect middle layer when I want something that is not too warm and when the weather is not cold nor extreme. It works for me inside and outside my home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by efw4wallace from I like it I have both this vest and the 850-fill down vest. PrimaLoft is surprisingly warm. This vest plus a light jacket and I can endure below 32 degree weather quite comfortably. Sometimes I prefer this to the down vest if I am driving or will be sitting a while - don't have to worry about packing down the goose down with the weight from my back against a chair. This vest is not as warm as the 850-fill one, but you can only tell when it is close to zero degrees. This vest is also comfortable to wear indoors if you get cold easily - the down vest gets a little too warm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by OldmanHiking from liked Insulation concept. I purchased hooded PrimaLoft jacket for thru hike. I’ve tested it several times. I’m not sure it will be warm enuf for my use. I ended up getting vest also, thinking I could wear both during low temps. It was better, but the cost of both items and weight after re-ordering Lg Tall items, is not as efficient as a good down packable hoodie. I’m keeping both, I think they will work in higher temp spring and fall weather. You can hike with either on and not get too hot. They do seem to block wind well. Good quality material and stitching. Hood is large on Jacket and without some type of draw string it is not efficient. Doing over, I would just get the jacket. If you get it on sale...it’s a good valve.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Duffer from Nice Golf Vest I bought this vest to wear while playing golf on days, when ones needs something light but not restrictive. Especially if the wind is blowing on a cool day(50 to 60 degrees). Fits close with plenty of freedom to swing any club. Arm holes are not restrictive and hold in heat, plus prevent getting to over heated. Chest pocket holds score card easily and doesn't get in the way. I normally walk when I play. It stuffs easy if it needs to be removed during play. There are no flaws that I have found so far. My only wish is that main zipper was a little larger.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SvenTheGreat from Too Big This was my third PrimaLoft Vest (Men's Large Tall). The first two vests fit perfectly, so I didn't try the new one on before a trip. Unfortunately, the cut has changed significantly, and I felt like I was wearing a large sack instead of a tailored product. Too bad I didn't try it on before traveling.
