Rated 2 out of 5 by Justmy2cents from Does not keep hand warm when temp is 25 degrees I am very disappointed in these gloves. While they did fit correctly based on the hand measurements, they are not warm gloves at all. I bought these in the summer in anticipation of a nice cold Indiana winter. This morning, I went outside to shovel the first snow of the season. It was 25 degrees F outside, and after 5 minutes of being outside and working the shovel, my hands started to feel very cold. When I took them off inside, there was no warmth inside the gloves. My hands, and the inside lining was cold, meaning it did a terrible job of insulating and keeping in any heat. I was not recommend these gloves to anyone. Very disappointed LL Bean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RegularBeanCustomer from No more cold fingers on morning walks! I try to walk two miles around daybreak all year 'round. From October through March that can be 15 - 40 degrees with or without wind. I sometimes had to cut my walks short because I would lose the feeling in my fingers holding the metal weights I use to exercise my shoulders. I got these gloves two weeks ago and haven't had to shorten any morning walk due to cold hands since! Even with wind, flurries and 15 degrees my hands stay insulated and comfortable. The layering in the gloves provides air insulation and wind break. A good fit providing the air around the fingers is essential and these gloves work great! I wish I had found them sooner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by gardiner336 from top notch looking and comfortable and warm this is a 5 star set of gloves all the way. these are the baxter state parker II gloves and I also bought the baxter state parker. both are excellent. one comment I will advise you about the gloves is this: I read the reviews about these gloves and I'm glad I did. reviews said to make sure and buy a size larger and that is true. I measured my hand by the llbean standard and was a perfect large, so I ordered the x-large and I have a perfect fitting pair of gloves. if I have stayed with the measured large, closing the fist would be the problem area. I highly recommend these gloves, I think you should go a size up to be safe. llbean can be proud of this product, I sure am.

Rated 4 out of 5 by RSWolfy from Great for almost everything, except... Wore these the other day (with my Baxter State Parka) when it was cold and extremely windy. They kept my hands nice and warm, but unfortunately they lose you a little dexterity, which normally wouldn't be a problem (for say shoveling, or skiing, or maybe even riding a bike in cold weather), but I get around with a wheelchair, and it was rather tough going with these. Unfortunately for me the only other choice I had was to wear my regular leather rappelling gloves, and my fingers would have frozen off, so I used these anyway. I wonder if the Rangeley gloves I originally wanted would have done better, but since they were out of stock until December I couldn't wait.

Rated 3 out of 5 by flyfish29 from Great gloves, but run VERY tight. Buy 1-2 sizes up These gloves do a great job of keeping my hands warm. I usually struggle to find gloves that will do the job- I guess I played in the cold too many times as a kid without gloves because the cold makes my fingers hurt. Anyway, these gloves are very warm, but the fingers run very tight. I have small hands and usually wear a Medium glove but the Large gloves are still too tight. If I hadn't already worn them for snow blowing the driveway I would have exchanged them for an even larger size. I guess I will have to pass them along to my son and try an XL pair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mrcranky from Baxter Gloves Just got these and have not worn them much. My only downer is that the cuffs do not have cinch straps which I think would be a big plus. The cuffs are long enough that it may not matter and may be more of a perosnal preference. On sizing I was just at the very low end of the size range for a large and these seem to fit OK. They are not sloppy but clearly have some room as I would expect relative to where I was on the scale. They seem to be on size or maybe run a bit small. For someone on the middle to upper end of a range they may want to go next larger. Part of this is how tight you like gloves to fit too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DCCountrySquire from Good Deep Winter Gloves These are incredibly warm gloves in a color that matches the two green winter parkas from LLBean this year. At -10F my hands were sweating inside these after a few minutes, which brings about one of the downsides: moisture inside the gloves takes a long time to dry (several hours at room temperature, less in front of a cozy fire). A secondary downside is that I found these difficult to drive with because of their bulk. I would not recommend these as driving gloves, but would wholeheartedly recommend them for digging a car out of heavy snow.

Rated 3 out of 5 by LLBeanShopper from Not very warm I bought these to replace an older pair of L.L Bean gloves that had a tear in them from my dogs. I live in the Chicagoland area and winters can get pretty cold, and unfortunately these gloves just aren't very warm. For one, there is very little to no insulations around the fingers, which is where I need the most warmth. Secondly the cuff doesn't have any elasticity or way to tighten it around your wrists, which leaves skin open to the cold. Might be a result of buying an X-Large, but the large doesn't really fit my hands.
