Rated 4 out of 5 by NicoleAndrea from Reliable LOVE EM..... I have purchased 15 sets in 8 years and true, not all of them were perfect. For many years (2008-2012) the pillowcases did not lie flat, the ends were wrinkled, but then LL Bean corrected that and now all the pillowcases ends lie flat. On a couple of the 15 sets the seams split open on the fitted sheets but I can sew that up and it was only on 2 sheets. Other reviewers did not think they were soft enough but those people should probably buy sateen sheets. I do like that these percale are "crisp". Overall, I hope the quality continues. I'd like to continue to purchase these sheets for the rest of my LIFE because I am too busy to research another brand.

Rated 3 out of 5 by BorisandNatasha from Not as good as before These sheets are not the same sheets that we have ordered and enjoyed for years. The Web site still states that the fabric is cotton percale, but the fabric has been changed in some way. It feels slick, as if there is some type of slippery finish on the fabric. Ironing no longer results in the crisp finish that we enjoyed in the past. Also, the front and back of the hemstitched top of the flat sheet are misaligned. This means the top edge has a bubble that can't be straightened or ironed out. After years of being thrilled with these sheets, we are disappointed. Please let us know if LL Bean has other sheets that retain the texture and finish of the original LL Bean percale sheets.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lucysmom2 from Crying all day long WHY WHY WHY DID LLBEAN CHANGE the quality of these sheets! My old percale flat sheet from Bean finally gave out after years of service. I bought it years ago after the long search for the percale sheets with the crisp snap. Talk about cool comfort, this was it. I treasured these sheets knowing that no one else had anything nearly like them. Needing replacements I of course went to Bean, and despite the new review comments bought my new sheets. What a huge disappointment!, These have a slinky silky clingy feel that absolutely does not promote cool and comfortable sleep. If there is any way Bean could go back to the old quality it sure would be great. They had the market captured. Why did they change!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Zeek from Very Comfortable, But Don't Last We have purchased several sets of these over the past 4 years or so. They are VERY comfortable and the finish is very nice. Our only problem with them is they don't last. We have a front load washer and don't use bleach. We wash the sheets once a week. We are both of normal weight. So the bottom line is the sheets are treated normally. Eventually, they start to weaken and tear. Generally where the seams are at the pillowcase openings and the bottom sheet where your feet would be. Becuase the price of these are so high and rarely go on sale, this will probably be the last set and we will look elsewhere for a better deal with longer lasting material.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Gretchen5 from Not the same sheet - disappointed! First time I was disappointed in any LLBean product. As soon as I opened the package, the material didn't look like cotton percale. It sure looks like it has some synthetic fabric in it! Maybe they don't wrinkle but they sure don't feel like cotton. Maybe we need to stop having everything manufactured in China where we have no idea what quality assurance practices are in place.

Rated 1 out of 5 by clothespen from Too silky I have always purchased LL Bean sheets, but this one is going back. This is a thick material with a slippery, silky feel to it. I have always had the cotton percale sheets that are crisp and dry quickly in the sun. I am so disappointed in this sheet. This is even a different feel from the fitted sheet currently on the bed. I want the old fashioned cotton sheets, not the silky, slippery cotton ones.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Skier0707 from Loved, but ripped We loved these sheets, and used them a lot, but I have never had sheets rip on me before. The top, hemmed part of these sheets ripped and then the sheets finally just ripped down the middle. I am not rough on my items and these particular sheets were probably washed 1-2 times per month. I think they were soft and great sheets, but I do not plan to repurchase or recommend to friends/family.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ExPatInBoston from Uncomfortable fabric I should have known that 280 thread count sheets wouldn't be soft, but this fabric is very scratchy. It's like sleeping on sandpaper! I've washed the sheet set several times and it's getting a little better, but I'm pretty disappointed. They are well made and a good colour - I really wanted a light blue (lake) which seems hard to find these days. But even at a site-wide discount price, I think they are very expensive for the quality of the fabric.
