Light Weight, But Tight
Shoes are very good. Light weight for packing & wearing, but tight despite the wide width. I am not a hiker, but bought due to waterproof description for trip to Scotland. May loosen the more I wear them. Wearing today for 3rd day.

Poor fitting shoe
The fabric is so thick and puffy and the tongue way too long, why does it need to go over an inch up the ankle. Didn’t like it at all. Just returned it.

Accurate fit of 7 M B - feels comfortable, is waterproof, color works w wardrobe. Next time would go for 7 M C for a little wider for comfort.

I always read the worst reviews (if they are in the minority), then make my decision. It seems those who do not like these shoes probably have unusually shaped feet. I'm glad I don't. I love these shoes. They seemed a bit stiff at first, but are very comfortable, supportive, waterproof, and even though they might look heavy, they are very light. Perfect for my dog walks and personal walks

Nice feel and fit
I purchased these for an upcoming hiking trip to Scotland.
With help from an online assistant, I ordered the wide width in my usual size after seeing several reviews suggesting the fit tends to be narrow. I'm glad I did, for the wider shoe perfectly accommodates my heavier hiking socks, works fine for lighter-weight hiking socks, and they're supportive of my ankles without rubbing. Wearing them just walking around the neighborhood on a rainy day and through a few puddles was sufficient to persuade me to keep them; they're waterproof so absolutely kept the water out, but because of their breathability my feet didn't get hot which was much appreciated. I did put a different, better insole in to increase comfort in walking, but otherwise, I'm satisfied.

Does it all with comfort
I'm on my feet all day at my job, either standing for long periods or venturing out onto messy and uneven terrain. These shoes are very comfortable, versatile, and have stopped the development of foot issues. Highly recommend!

Trail Model Hiker 4 Waterproof Low Women's
They fit! {Bought clearance} Size 8 1/2 Wide in women's. They are on the heavy side though. I did expect that with hikers, but the newest 'trend' is to make them lighter weight.

Not ready out of the box
sturdy, Lacks arch support, stiff and pressing at points on top of foot near ankle and back of ankle. Best to break in slowly around the house, and worn with crew socks, improves over time - need to add arch support.

Good support shoes
I bought these for extra foot stability when I am not wearing my hiking boots, but when I wanted some thing, more substantial, then sandals to support my feet. For example, when I am carrying a large backpack onto trains, these shoes provide the foot security that I need to prevent falls. I do not wear them for heavy duty hiking. For that, I prefer my being Cresta hikers. I bought a slightly larger size so that I could use my hiking arch support for additional support inside, as well as possibly hiking socks, if needed. I purchased the wide, and frankly, I wish they were made a little bit wider.

I was disappointed in the fit of the Trail Shoes. Even though I ordered a wide they where still to narrow. They where also very stiff. I have the hiking boot version and they fit great.

Third Pair, Great Hikers!
This is my third pair of Trail Model Waterproof Hikers. I primarily hike in rolling terrain near my home (average 6-10 miles/hike), but have used these hikers in the NC, TN , VA & CA mountains for some tough climbing. I like the protection and secure platform they offer. They wear well and are pretty comfortable out of the box. I would break them in just a bit before attempting a real long trek.

Styling is great. Fit is lousy.
Love the styling. A nice departure from the typical gaudy pinks and blues available in women's athletic shoes. However, the fit is terrible. I'm an avid hiker, yet these shoes give me shin splints. If the trek is longer than 1 mile, I do not wear these shoes. Unfortunate.

I buy these every year and like them, but the fit can vary. I am disappointed that my local store does not carry wide sizes any more. It’s a pain to have them shipped not knowing if the fit is right.
