Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ice cleats I haven't used them yet but I put them on my icefishing boots and I think they're gonna work great. I have a pair of size 10-1/2 boots and if they were any bigger the cleats probably wouldn't have fit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer beware!!! Buyer beware! These do the trick as far as gripping the rocks in the river. The problem is the link between the toe chains falls off and will hook the opposite foot. This happend twice to me causing me to fall in the river. Your feet will become chained together and cause a dangerous situation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best I've ever owned. The Boa mounting system is super fast and easy to use. It makes getting these on and off easy, even if you're sitting in your car. The flexible but durable rubber conforms to whatever footwear you have. Just line the cleats up on the soles of your footwear and turn the knob. Boom, ready to go.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Gription Bought these to help out in the winter with ice and snow when fishing and they seemed to work great on first ise today. Will see how they hold up overtime.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from only lasted a little more than a season eh...they do grip nice but they only lasted a little more than a full season. Eventually the links holding some the cleats to the rubber portion wore away that they would no longer stay on my feet. Also, I used these with my Kennebec boot foot waders and unfortunately the Kennebec boot foots have a high in-step and these cleats never ever fit the boots that well, probably one of the reasons some of the linkage on the cleats wore out so quickly. LL Bean should re-design and re-engineer these so they fit the Kennebec boot foot waders better. Guess I'll have to try Korkers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Arrival was too late! The product arrived so late that it could not be used. Disappointing! Maybe it will be enjoyed next year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Addition to Rubber Sole Boots Awesome for attaching to rubber sole boots for traction in rocky streams and faster water. I wish Bean would make one additional larger size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wicked Nice Creepers Some of the trails are icy or packed snow, so I got these creepers to see if it helped get up and down. The results were perfect. They have enough small studs to keep me from slipping. These are not crampons, but they are light weight and very comfortable. Especially nice is how easy they are to put on and take off. The ratched knob allows tightening to just right tension for a snug fit and then quick and easy to get off. See you on the trails!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from easy to put on and off, excellent traction, rugged On my fifth season, average use twice weekly on hard packed and icy 250 meter incline at a nearby hill, wearing my LL Bean light hikers or my Cresta Hikers. Also used on yearly trips to icy windswept mountain peaks. Bought my wife a pair!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Streamside Cleat with Boa Fits wading boots and easy use Boa makes fit work. Take the Cleats off when in boat and install to wade. Makes streams wading where felt is not allowed better. A must have using a boat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made Great product that works well. I steelhead fish in NY a lot and this product has kept me from slipping thus far. It fits well over my very large Cabelas BootFoot waders. Those waders do not accept studs, and the previous “over the boot” studs were ill positioned and loose. These fit much better due to the BOA system. Great product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Boa stream Cleats I bought these cleats ten months ago and use them a lot. Practically each time I use them though the hook connections come apart and I end up having to tighten them in my vise when I get back home. I actually lost a metal loop connections in a stream and had to re-make the connection using a lock washer because these links are very difficult to find (at least for me), see attached photo. It happened to me again today and I finally decided to write my comments.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Boa and sand does not mix Once on the boot, the cleats provide tenacious gripping power on most everything, including ice. This is very welcome for those using bootfoot waders in subfreezing weather, as boot foot waders generally offer little to no real traction in many conditions encountered by river anglers, especially steelheaders. As a bonus, they are lighter in weight than cleat system offered by the competition. However, the problem remains with the boa system in sand/silt enviroments, as commonly encountered many Midwestern rivers. The boa will not release and loosen when jammed with sand. As such, you cannot pull the knob up to loosen the cables and take them off your boot. They must be cleaned out, however, a key for taking the boa mechanism apart is not included by LL Bean. The first time this happened, cleaning the mechanism out did allow them to function as they should. However, after cleaning the sand clogging the gears the second time, the boa mechanism still will not release to loosen. Back to LL Bean they go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If considering, just buy Just got back for an icy cold, but productive trip of Steelhead fishing and am I glad that I had these in my bag! They go on easy, and come off a little more difficult. During this last trip I found that I was slipping on some slick rocks and decided to put these on for a try. It was like locking up a 4x4 and being able to climb on icy banks and navigate over slick rocks with no problem. I now have no need for Kennibuck studded boots. I really appreciate the on and off boa system. These cleats were the envoy of my group that I was fishing with!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! These are absolutely amazing! Going on my second year with them and continue to be impressed at how much less dangerous it is to walk in steams and over wet rocks. Much less fear of slipping and losing my camera (I photograph rather than fish).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty good, but... The concept of these cleats is a GREAT idea, and a possible life saver. However, after 3 outings in a rock filled river I have some comments. Pros: They do provide great grip. The Boa system seems to work nice, which makes them reasonably easy to put on and remove. Cons: The tiny carbide tips on top of the cleats are pretty much worn down to the top of main cleat after three outings. Not sure they will make it through the season without wearing through the main cleat... we'll see. Perhaps much larger/better tips or replaceable cleats. I'd spend the money to change them out each year. Make sure you tighten the boa really well... or they will come off, and make sure to check them again once you've been in the water a while. I almost lost one the first time out. I wear a size 10WWW warm weather wading shoe (sneakers), and size 11 hip boot. The M/L. The M/L works fine for me. However, when I tighten them so they don't come off both the boots and sneakers, there is not much left to tighten. So, if you wear a size 8, 8 1/2, be careful what size you buy. Can't recommend them just yet, as I will have to see how the cleats hold up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb on Ice These were the best thing I have ever bought for fishing along streams where there is ice along the bank. They are designed for slick rocks and weeds, but really work well on the ice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Design Streamside Cleats are great! Designed well, easy on, easy off. No more slipping and sliding for this fly fisherman!
