The softest long-lasting flannel in the widest range of 100% authentic Scottish tartans.
For over 80 years, we've been making our authentic Scotch Plaid flannel shirts the way we always have: better than everyone else's. Our exclusive flannel fabric is meticulously woven with longer-staple cotton, which means the individual cotton fibers are about one-quarter inch longer than short-staple fibers, making a huge difference in fabric strength and quality. Then, it's meticulously brushed eight times on each side and given a "touch test" by a master weaver to declare it soft enough.

Bean’s flannel shirts can’t be beat!
Personally, I believe L.L. Bean has perfected flannel shirts. This Scotch Plaid was chosen because of the beautiful colors in the shirt. Adding a fourth flannel shirt from L.L. Bean to my wardrobe was a no-brainer because of the fit, feel, and comfort of my first three shirts.

Attractive; comfortable; hoping it will not pill
appears to be well made; soft fabric. The proof will be after a few washes in cold water to see if it holds up -- no shrinking; no pilling. Prior flannel shirt bought in 2023 pilled after just 5 washings. I always use cold water and do not dry for more than 5 minutes at low temp and finish by hang drying. In spite of this careful care the original shirt is no longer attractive; can use only for work cleaning around the house. In years past LL Bean always had much more quality fabrics. I hope this new shirt will not disappoint.bbbb

Well constructed, soft flannel shirt
Well constructed. Flannel is soft and the color is very nice. The fit works for me in the shoulders meaning the shoulders run true to size. The waist is a bit big. Too bad Beam hasn't figured out there are slim people in this world.

Just a great flannel shirt period.

Found my new LL Bean Standard Fit
Love the color. After wearing Regular Medium for years, I have found that the slightly fitted Med-Tall almost always stays tucked-in. At work, I do a lot of twisting and reaching for things about head height. At 5'9" 180lbs not what you call a tall man.

I purchased this for an average height female; though the product is designed for men. Why? To get long enough sleeves and body length. I guess the Maine population is short, because many of the tops reflect that. I am very happy with the quality and the fit.....finally sleeves that are long enough.
