Specs are very misleading
I bought these for my grandkids years ago when they were just 2 and 3 years old and they were great! Now I wanted to purchase a pair for my 4 year old granddaughter who wears a size 10 shoe. The specs for the 16" size say that the capacity is for 25 to 60 lbs. Due to the look of the new binding, I contacted customer service to ask about the minimum shoe size and was told it was size 13. The average child wearing a size 13 shoe is 6 years old and weighs 45 lbs. The average child turning 2 years old weighs 25 lbs. and wears a size 6 shoe. So, the specs for these snowshoes are very misleading and the Winter Walker no longer will accommodate young children. I would have rated 5 stars for the earlier pairs I purchased (including 4 pair for adults), but would now rate it 1 for the inaccurate specs and bindings which will not work for young children. That is my reason for 3 stars.

Fun
My grandkids visited relatives in VT and absolutely loved the snowshoes I bought for them. Ages 8 & 5 caught on very quickly how to walk in them and explored the woods & fields around the house with gusto.

Kids’ snowshoes
These snowshoes are good quality, and easy to put on and adjust. They also look very nice. The little ones enjoy snowshoeing with them. I bought them on sale.

Great starter snow shoes - I'm waiting for a few good snowstorms to see how the plastic straps hold out but my kiddo loves them!

Great snow shoes!
We have three pairs of the kids winter walker snow shoes - one in the above style, and two older pairs that have a different binding system. I found these newer ones harder to put on and off than the older versions, the bindings were also harder to adjust, but overall, they're still a great snow shoe. I kind of wish LLBean would go back to the older bindings, it was so much easier!!! These snow shoes last forever. We have three children and we've had and used ours so far for about 9 years! They are very high quality. I love the new color options too.

Very happy
Our daughter loves these. Relatively easy to take on and off. Big upgrade from the plastic Tubbs (which were good for awhile) Time will tell, but hopefully these will last.

Great Snow Shoes for Kids
Well made, great price, love the design AND it was the clearance design...go figure :0) Very easy to on/off and kids had no trouble walking-articulate well and crampons are great.
We've only gone twice so far due to lack of snow but looking forward to them outlasting our kids needs!

Binding issues
Bought these for my son who had outgrown the 16” winter walker snowshoes. These are a different binding than those were (older model had a heel cup with 2 clips/web straps- 1 in front of ankle and 1 over the top of foot). They were super easy to get on/off and my other son still uses his 19” snowshoes (same older style binding) with no difficulty. These, however, especially on the left side, continuously fall off the back of the foot, no matter how tight we try to adjust them- this then squeezes the forefoot so much that he complains. His foot slides forward because there is no strap in front of ankle to prevent this. I even tried them myself (I fit the weight parameters listed) and had same issue- very frustrating and uncomfortable. Left side is worse I think because when these are shipped, the entire binding is smashed flat and thus the shape is distorted and never fits as well as the right side. So either we got a defective left binding or this new binding design has some flaws. Plan on returning these.

As good as it gets
Have the 16" and 19" Winter Walkers for the kids. After a 4 years we moving up to 21", and handing down the 19". She is 10 and her heavy winter boots women's size 9 do not fit the 19" bindings. That's fine. The bag is the only thing that has not lasted, but that's not an issue when you out in the snow. My old style LL Bean Tubbs are 15 years old, and not a single issue with them.
For those folks that are just getting started on the winter sport. I think age 4 or 5 is as young as you would want to start kids on these. Stamina will be an issue with kids, so keep that in mind before you adventure too far. At ages 8 and 10 we're pushing it after 1.5 hours, at 2 hrs their tanks are on empty. A perfect trip has a Cocoa snack break at the half way point, maybe 20-30 minutes to rest but not get cold. Break trail the day before. Let them explore and follow the path without breaking trail, they'll love it.

don't stay on
We bought these for our kids last year and unfortunately found them to be very frustrating. The bindings to not stay on the foot very well. The poles did not stay extended either. We have the adult version and love them, but the bindings and poles are very different. We just returned the kids shoes and will have to figure something else out for them.

Great serious kid's snowshoes
High quality real, serious snowshoes for little kids. I bought for 3 yr old, still a little big, will probably be right when she wears a size 11 shoe. But then should fit for years.

Four Years of Use and Going Strong
I bought these for myself, a 5' tall, 95 lb adult. After about four years of use on pretty rough terrain (rocky, branch-strewn hiking trails, sometimes thin snow cover), my pair is still going strong. They go up and down hills with no problem. They do throw up a good amount of snow behind, but at least with my gait, the snow tends to be thrown back, not up onto your pant legs.
I am an occasional weekend snowshoer, so these aren't subjected to daily wear and tear, but I'm quite pleased with the quality and durability of this product, especially for the price.

Good snowshoes
We had a pair of 16" that my daughter used for a few years and now my son uses that held up great. Now, she's in the second year of her 19" ones. She still can't put them on without help, but the same is true for most winter gear for her (skis, ice skates, snowshoes). They work well, and the crampons offer traction without getting stuck on debris in the woods.

Bought for self: adult
I bought these for myself to use as trail walkers fo good grip in the winter w/o having to wear overkill huge adult snowshoes. They were to replace/upgrade my older LLBean Kid's snow shoes that have this annoying plastic heel cup to fit into.
I wear a size 7 boot, size 5 1/2 kids. The straps are too short to fit around any of my winter boots. I can use these with my hiking books which are narrower because they are not winter insulated.
Like them so much more than the older version just wish the straps were long enough to accommodate my winter boots.

Does not stand the test of time
Unfortunately, we were just about to go into the woods with our daughter to snowshoe and discovered that the plastic binding on both shoes completely disintegrated. Last year, one of the clips for the straps broke. This year, the entire binding fell apart. So disappointed. Our adult snowshoes (not LL Bean brand) have stood the test of time (going on 18 years) showing no signs of wear, so we didn't expect our daughters to not even last four years.

Straps didn't work
Cheaply made, ratchet straps did not work on left snowshoe, but worked on the right. Disappointing product.

Charlie took off!
My two and a half year old grandson had his first snowshoeing experience in the Adirondacks. He took right off, even though his feet were actually a little small for the bindings. It's really nice to be able to equip kids for winter fun. The case I bought to go with the snowshoes doesn't seem as sturdy as the one that came with the snowshoes I bought for Charlie's older brother two or three years ago, but it does have handy straps for the poles.

Excellent purchase!
My 6 year old loves them and they are very easy for her to put on herself once we unwrapped them & adjusted the straps for her. Another quality purchase from The Bean, couldn't be happier! In fact, we were so impressed I ordered a pair for myself, my husband and our nephew. Now we just need more snow!!!

Great Christmas presents
My twin boys each got these snowshoes for Christmas; one red and the other blue so they can tell them apart. They were very excited to get them (they hated their old snowshoes) They are such an improvement; their old ones used to slip off their small boots all the time. These never slipped and they were hiking for hours, up and down hills, on packed snow and in powder, and jumping on and off their sleds. They have the 19 inch size and even though they are on the small side of the size chart at 60 pounds, they were the perfect size and now I know they will be able to use them for several years.

Great kids' snowshoes
Each of my grandchildren receive snowshoes on the Christmas following the second birthday; I've purchased several so far. The bindings are easy to manipulate and LL Bean's snowshoes are just right size for kids. They get the hang of it after just a few steps. An added plus is that LL Bean stands behind their products...they repaired one set [so far] at no charge, when the dog chewed up a binding! Can't ask for better than that!
