An L.L.Bean classic, this portable horseshoe set includes four forged-steel horseshoes, two solid-steel stakes and a convenient wooden carrying case.
Our founder, Leon Leonwood Bean, was an avid horseshoe player and always kept a set at his hunting and fishing camps. He started selling horseshoes in our 1927 spring catalog, advising our customers to "put a pair of stakes out near your camp or cottage and note how quickly your place becomes popular." Sage advice.

Carry Case Broke Immediately
Was excited to get this and was quite disappointed when we did. The nice looking case broke immediately when taking it of out the box and picking it up. Didn't even support weight of the shoes. The metal of shoes is fine enough but the box essentially disintegrated. A rare let down from Bean.

The wooden box broke immediately
The horseshoes are lovely, but the wooden box used to carry them around broke into splinters immediately. It's very flimsy construction. I had to find an old computer bag to carry the horseshoes around in. Sadly, we had to toss the wooden shard remnants of the box. Too bad.

Good quality
Horse shoes are made of good quality , with exception to the box. The box fell apart the second time I carried it. Had to repair/ re staple it .

Great Horse Shoes - Carrying case broke
The horseshoes and steaks are great, very solid and sturdy. The coatings on the shoes have held up nicely. I was disappointing that the wooden carrying case broke apart the second time we used the set. Other than that, great product.

Horseshoe set.
It arrived promptly and the wooden box that contains the set is lovely. My husband set it in the living room (really!) until he builds his pits. We haven't tried it out yet but it certainly is good to look at.
