Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid jacket against wind and rain Had an older one for over 15 years, but felt I needed a new one. First fishing trip was wet, windy and cold. Jacket was terrific, very comfortable and easy to cast and move about. Zippers much improved, good pocket space. Having a warmer liner in the hand pocket would be a welcome tweak. Very good value compared to others I looked at.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Wading Jacket This is the ideal wading jacket. It keeps me dry, it's breathable, and best of all it is SHORT! Last thing I want when wading is a long jacket in the water.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks like a good purchase at a good price. Given still winter haven’t had opportunity to use on river but did try out and fit was good and from what I can tell the garment is constructed well and should hold up well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good jacket with a mediocre fit Nice features and quality construction. Removing 1 star b/c it is a bit boxy on me and I'm not a slender person.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awesome but why did you quit making a Tall option? Just too short, even for moderate height folks. Why did the purchasers quite buying Talls?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Zipper sticking I bought this jacket nearly 2 years ago, like it but the zipper is sticking. How do I lubricate it? I have to pull very hard and am afraid it will rip? Ken Jonah

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All day on the river It’s Gore-Tex perfect for whatever is thrown at you late fall and breathable enough for warm weather. It’s a wading jacket so works best in tandem with waders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded quality expectations. Really high quality with a great fit. My wife often grabs it for rainy day errands and she is not one to wear “gear” clothes. For me the test is dunking your arm while landing a fish and not having your sleeve wet for hours. This jacket handled that very well. Have owned the gamut of gore tex jackets and this one works as well or better than the $500+ ones (and it fits better).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fly-fishing wading jacket! I researched other brands of only Gore-Tex material and this one had a couple of features the others didn't. One feature I really like is the fly box pockets. Now we will give it the test of time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A well made product. Lightweight, well designed, it’s Gortex so it’s waterproof and the hood can be zipped away when not in use. Excellent value for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second jacket still great! This is the second jacket like this from LL Bean. My other didn’t wear out I gave it to a friend. Comfortable, keeps you dry and stowed easily. Good deal for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value This jacket is very light and pockets high. It’s perfect for use in waders. Nice the hood rolls up too. Gore Tex a steal at this price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gore-Tex for $200!!! A true Gore-Tex wading jacket for $200 is unheard of. This one is lightweight and easily packable. Chest pockets are big and roomy for large fly boxes or any thing else you want to carry. The hood is well thought out with multiple draw strings to keep the rain out. The cuffs are awesome with Velcro closures and a super soft lining. This is my new favorite wading jacket for sure. Fit is spot on for a large. Not oversized at all. Keep in mind that this is a wading jacket and is purposely shorter in length.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Wading Jacket Purchased to use as a wading jacket for fly fishing. I am 5'8, 155 lbs and the medium size fits nicely. It is roomy enough for layers underneath. It is short by design and extends to my waist which is good when wading in the water. I don't want this jacket to dip into the water all the time. The pockets on the front are large and hold my fly box and other essentials. You can't see this in the pictures, but it does have a plastic loop for you net retaining system in the back. There is plenty of storage and you can go without a vest or pack. It is light weight and packs down small in a pocket. I have worn it a few times and once in the rain. Kept me dry on top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised This jacket replaced a previous LLbean raincoat that was waterproof but not Gortex. So far this jacket has been just what I expected. It's windproof and keeps me dry. It is very light and might feel cozier with a lining, but then it wouldn't be light. So, this is exactly as it should be for a fishing jacket that is easy to pack and carry with you. I don't understand the complaints in other reviews that this jacket is too short. It's a specialty wading jacket that is made to come to your waist so that it doesn't drag in the water when fishing. That's also the reason for the high pockets. Seems to be a well thought out design with reasonably good construction. Obviously made for warm weather fishing but will suffice in some cooler temps.Breathability is reasonable but I haven't found any rain jacket that excels at this. All in all,I'm very happy with this purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fishing Rain Coat for Mild Weather This raincoat is good for light weather fishing trip but not heavy or cold weather. I used the coat on an October Alaskan fishing trip and the first day of rain the pockets filled with water. I tried again the next day and made sure all the zippers were up but still had the same issue. I bought my boyfriend the same coat and he had the same problems. I recommend finding a zipper wax to help keep the water out of the pockets. The size of the neck is also narrow if you have layers on, it is tight and hard to zip, be sure to buy a larger size if you plan to layer up. The generally body of the coat held up well and kept me dry, only issue was around the wrists where my under layers were generally wet if it was raining.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME Favorite So I don't understand when one review said it's too short and goes to the waist-dah. It's a wading jacket-dah. Perfect for deep wading and even then my jacket goes into the river do to my short height. Every season I'll be up to top of my waders at one point. I've had it for 4 years now & sometimes it gets wet near seams when I'm in a 2+ hour heavy rainstorm. wrist enclosures, the ample room, lightness more often then not makes me forget that I even have it on-truth. I do own another brand gore-tex jacket that I wear, when I know-in-advance, that it'll rain & be cold so I can fit hardcore warmth under it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy I used many breathable jackets over last 25 year. This one is totally disappointing, I was wet inside, absolutely no moisture release. I was feeling like wrapped in the plastic bag. No big physical effort just walking on rain at 15 deg C. Simply do not buy this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Men's Gore-Tex PacLite Stowaway Beware the Men's Gore-Tex PacLite Stowaway jacket because even in the Extra Large size I bought, it only reaches the waist and is way too short. It should be made 6" to 8" longer, so when you bend over it doesn't rain in your pants! Also, because access to the pocket zippers are up near one's neck, the pockets are quite awkward to reach, and should be located at least 3" to 5" lower than the present level. Other aspects of the jacket are perhaps fine, but I would not recommend as it is now designed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not really waterproof The zippers on the chest pockets make you think the pocket will be waterproof or at the very least water resistant. But, there is a second stowaway pocket underneath the chest pocket with the waterproof zipper pocket. This pocket is separated by a piece of cloth. Water enters the stowaway pocket that does not have a waterproof zipper and then enters the waterproof zipper pocket through the cloth. A complete design fail! My phone with all my late mothers pictures are now gone forever due to gettin soaked. Thanks so much LLBean

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Holds Body Heat Comfortably Firstly do not forget that this is a jacket for a specific purpose. When you are standing in the water and it's nasty cold and raining - you will be blissfully comfortable. On the odd side is this Goretex material is crinkly, it makes noise. I know Goretex makes softer, quieter material because I have it for hunting. Also, the fly holder on the chest is very stiff and hard and a tad big. I'm thinking of replacing it with a piece of sheep fleece. The size "small" is good for a small to average sized female with room for casting. (Why don't the women rate a Goretex wading jacket? Just asking....)
