Good Value
I have bought several of these, the last being in 2021. First, they are indestructible and will last a long, long time. Yes, eventually the pile lining will wear away over time but that has never been an issue for me. My only issue is with the 'orange peel' texture on the sole. Eventually it wears and becomes smooth. When walking on a ceramic floor that causes the moccasins to squeak - loudly. They are fine on carpet and wood flooring. I am now the owner of several pair of squeaky moccasins in a home with some ceramic flooring. Would I buy them again? Yes.

Sad to say, not even close to previous versions
These slippers, which I used to love - have been buying and wearing them for more than 20 years - have been cheapened up in every way except the price. The latest pair I bought about three months ago "features" thinner and weaker suede, considerably less fleece on the inside than my last two pairs, the leather laces refuse to stay tied in spite of employing the tying trick that is on their website. One piece of the suede that the laces run through on the top of the tongue broke almost immediately when I tried to tighten and this is important because they stretch out almost immediately due to the thinner suede (previous pairs held their shape much, much better). This is the last pair I will be buying and the only reason I gave them two stars instead of one is based on nostalgia about how good the previous versions were. Get your act together, LL Bean! I have been a faithful customer for over 50 years. No more.
