The softest long-lasting flannel in the widest range of 100% authentic Scottish tartans.
For over 80 years, we've been making our authentic Scotch Plaid flannel shirts the way we always have: better than everyone else's. Our exclusive flannel fabric is meticulously woven with longer-staple cotton, which means the individual cotton fibers are about one-quarter inch longer than short-staple fibers, making a huge difference in fabric strength and quality. Then, it's meticulously brushed eight times on each side and given a "touch test" by a master weaver to declare it soft enough.

A little long, but very well made and comfortable.
The shirt is well made and comfortable. It fits perfectly in the chest area for the large size and the sleeve length is just what I needed. The only drawback would be in the body length of the shirt. Even though it is a tall size it is much longer than other tall shirts that I have gotten.

Flannel shirts 6 month comfort.
Excellent shirt; very high quality. The fabric feels natural, not like some shirts that almost feel like plastic. It's just the right weight; warm but not stifling. For the future I'd like to see this shirt in a brown/tan plaid.

Old friend revisited
A long time ago in Boston, when my wife was in grad school and I was in law school, she had favorite flannel shirt that looked almost exactly like this one, and she wore it all the time. Of course, eventually it got threadbare, and she had to throw it out, but we both remembered how it looked, and it was oh so comfortable. When we saw this shirt in your online catalog, we both immediately said that it reminded us of that favorite shirt. Naturally, I bought it for her, and it has immediately become an old friend. The shirt is nicely made though the material doesn't seem to have the same quality as all my husbands other LL Bean shirts which are numerous. Perhaps with washings it will soften. It looks nice on and is comfortable.
