The Best of the old standard.
These are the best wool socks left anywhere. They are almost pure, but made better w/ a touch of stretch. Therefore they wash w/o stiffening. In a world filled with vessel choking socks, the old standard from the old standard remains true to its roots.

These have changed — no longer will buy
I’ve been buying wool socks from LL Bean for years and these are not the same and not as warm. All the nylon and elastane has ruined them and they are thin and flimsy. The tops of my feet are cold and in my climate they are no good to me anymore despite spending so much money on them. Really disappointed.

Great wool socks.
I've bought many pairs of these socks over the years and love them. I recently made the mistake of using OxyClean in the machine. It ruins the wool so that they shrink and don't feel soft.

The best and most comfortable winter socks!
These are my first choice from October until April. They fit well and provide a nice warm cushion for my old feet.

Much Thinner Than I Expected
These very expensive socks are nothing special. Considering the price, they are a quite thin. It's the ribbing that makes them look thicker than they really are, and you can feel the ribbing when you walk. They are defininitely not soft and they are thinner and absolutely no warmer than the acrylic socks you can buy at the big box store for one third the price. "Merino wool" means nothing when the material is thin. Don't waste your money on these.

long-lasting but uncomfortable toe seam
These rags wool socks are sturdy and long-lasting but sadly they have an uncomfortable toe seam ridge. My husband said he'll try wearing them inside out to see if less irritating that way.
