Fantastic Shoe, but they squeak
I LOVE these shoes!! Warm, dry feet are so nice in the winter. The initial fit was tight, requiring a shoehorn, but after wearing it several times, it is much easier to get in and out.

Picky adult son
Picky adult son said he liked his old ones (also from bean, about 8+ years ago), setting his new ones aside, then trying them on afterwards, we saw him take his old ones & said only in an emergency. He then worn the new ones for the next 4 days. Hey, moms still know best.

Design is OK but definitely not a slip-on.
Really disappointed with the sizing. I compared the size 12 sole with three different pairs of walking shoes that I find very comfortable. This “slipper” is at least 3/4 inches longer and I cannot wear them with comfort or confidence. Your source, wherever it is located, needs to figure out proper sizing for the American market! I am returning this order.

Like them but would prefer they offer half sizes
My husband likes the slippers. He wears a 10.5 size. We ordered a half size up as recommended. They are a bit loose and not as comfortable as they could be if they were the correct size. Otherwise, very nicely made.

Oversized
Very large, size 12 looks like a 14. My partner got 10 and they almost fit my size 12 foot.

Good not Great. Run Large
I wear a 11.5 in sneakers, sometimes a 12. I ordered a size 11. The shoe is way too big. There is 1.5" of gap from my big toe to the end of the shoe. I will exchange for a 10 and hope for the best. It's worth noting that the toe box is super narrow. If, like me, you have a wide foot and like to size up, know that you'll have a couple of inches of dead space ahead of the middle toes.
On a positive note, I had no issue slipping these on/off. The wool is very comfortable. Reminds me of my Glerup slippers.
I will update the rating if the size 10 shoes fit well.

Men's Downeast Slip-Ons
Agree with many others, true to size and very comfortable for extended wear with or without socks. Not a slip on, I use a shoe horn which is only a minor inconvenience.

SQUEAKY LOUD SHOES!
My husband bought these and they’re very comfortable and look good but the NOISE is ridiculous! They squeak so much I can’t think when he comes in a room.

Comfortable wool slip on for walks
Ordered my normal size and they fit snuggly with wool socks. Very warm. I wear them outside this way for normal activities. A tug by your hand needed to pull on.

Really needs to be available in half sizes.
I wound up returning these. They’re not available in half sizes and going up to the next whole, they were too big. For the cost, half sizes should be available. Should be okay if you wear a whole size, but I would not recommend sizing up.

Not slip on, very tight opening
Not slip on at all. I specifically wanted shoes easy to slide in and out of, ever since Merrell discontinued all their nicer looking slip on Mocs (except the ugly Jungle Moc). I need shoes I can easily put on while holding a toddler, dog, groceries, trash bags, running to the garage or shed. I found these impossible to put on with just my feet.
2 stars only because once I was able to sit down and use my hand and wriggle my foot in, the shoe felt comfortable.

More like shoes, less like slippers
I like footwear that behaves as indoor slippers (warmth, mainly) but is still robust enough (firm sole) for a brief foray outside. I'm enjoying these, but they are a little too much on the outdoor side of the equation: I can easily wear these as casual shoes for outdoor wear, and they are not as warm and soft as a slipper might be. "Slipping on" becomes a challenge with thicker socks

Comfortable, but hard to get on.
Fits well and fairly comfortable once they're on, but the opening for the foot is very tight. Definitely not slip-on.

Not a slip-on!
I normally take a size 11 1/2 so I ordered a 12 as per the “order up” instructions. These shoes were very difficult to put on as there is no stretch to the fabric and no elastic to allow stretch.

warm, comfortable, but squeak loudly when I walk. I'm hoping to walk around in private long enough for it to subside.

Photos! (See my review on 10/13/2024, Name: BobS)
From my review on 10/13/2024-Adding photos to show the product, the L.L. Bean Men’s Wool Downeast Slip-Ons size 14.
Nothing has changed from my last review (From same name “BobS” on 10/13/2024), I’m still exceedingly satisfied with this product and will be using them primarily as a casual “going out” type of footwear from going out to restaurants for breakfast/lunch/dinner, to running errands to the post office, UPS, FedEx, going to grocery stores or hardware stores to shop, visit friends or family for handouts, cookouts, or the holidays, which are quickly approaching! These are my casual, going “somewhere” type of footwear that goes with anything, from jeans, cargo pants, lounge pants, sweats, anything! (I designate footwear as outdoor or indoor. Indoor means just that, always worn inside the house only, never used outside at all. Outdoor is broken down further into sub-categories, such as “Outdoor: Work around the house/house chores” - which can get the bottom of the footwear a bit dusty/dirty from stepping in the yard, wet ground, dirt/dusty/rocky places, unpaved areas, walking the dog, putting the chickens in the coop, etc. Then there is “Outdoor: Casual” - which is used for running errands, such as driving places, to the post office, UPS, FedEx, going to stores such as grocery, hardware, clothing, specialty etc. stores for shopping, eating out, restaurants/out to eat, going out for dinner, lunch, or breakfast, going to friends or family to hang out, cookouts, dinners, holiday get togethers, etc..
These LL Bean Men’s Wool Downeast Slip-Ons (size 14) are categorized as “Outdoor: Casual”! They have not let me down and their look is stylish and clean! They always look great and are safe and useful per the bottom being non-slip rubber that grips the ground extremely well!
Use it with or without socks - the fit is great, and I wear a size 14 which is hard to find a manufacturer that gets it right! And LL Bean does get their Size 14 footwear right! So much so that I ordered a couple of more footwear items that’s coming soon!
My other footwear pair from LL Bean currently, that I ordered together with this slip-on, is the LL Bean Men’s Wool Downeast Clogs, again, size 14. The Clogs I use for, and they’re categorized as, “Outdoor: Work around the house/house chores”. (See above for my system, if you’re interested! LOL)
Please see some photos I took of these Slip-Ons, and see my reviews, which photos, on the Clogs page too!

Another great slipper/slip-on! I'm very satisfied!
I bought these along with the Wool Clogs from LL Bean, and I’m writing reviews for both as being exactly what I expected, and more! Sure, you may need a shoe horn to slip these on, but that’s not a big deal to me, as the quality and multiple environments that these can be used in far outweighs any slight drawbacks - which I don’t consider having to use a finger or shoehorn to slip the on as a bad thing - if the slipped on so easily, then they’d likely be too loose without socks etc. - these can be worn comfortably with or without socks, and inside our outdoors! Running errands or doing some outdoor chores, even just lounging on the back porch, patio, deck, driving around, going out to dinner - these have you covered!!
I’m going to love curling up in front of the fireplace with a book or my laptop and just enjoy the comfort these serve.
The fit is perfect! I mean perfect! (For both this Slip-on and the Clogs I bought and reviewed here at LL Bean). I wear a 14, as I’m a taller and bigger guy too, and footwear is a challenge to “get right”, especially with the larger sizes - as a size 14 can run small at times from some companies (but I never had a size 14 shoe/slipper/footwear run big), so I was nervously hoping for the best as these two, Clogs and these Slip-Ons are my first LL Bean footwear purchases - and WOW - the fit, the fit is extremely perfect, and I can use socks or just bare feet to slip these on and enjoy!
Buy a pair - I’m sure you won’t regret purchasing these slip ons!

Slip-Ons Don't!
Nice looking, well made, warm, comfortable once you get them one but difficult to get difficult to put on even after breaking them in. "Slip-ons" is misleading Definitely just can't "slip in" them. I have to put an index finger in the heel to help tug and get them on. If I had gone a size larger, they might have been easier to put on but would have provided a sloppy fit.
