Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Ski Jacket I was wearing this skiing in low 20s - high teens temperatures. It could use a little more insulation but I bought it a little big and had a few layers underneath, I was comfortable. Great wind protection also. My only complaint would be that the zipper is small, makes it difficult to get started.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect coverage for extreme cold weather Extremely warm, yet not bulky at all. The armpit zippers are great for venting steam from exertion. The snow skirt is great for our skiing/snowboarding. The hood could be better, though. Difficult to keep it from flopping down over one's eyes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warmest jacket I've ever owned I’ve had this jacket now through nearly two Minnesota winters and it is the best winter coat I’ve ever owned. It’s very warm, even with just a tee shirt underneath, and great protection from the wind. I bought my wife a woman’s version this winter and she loves it! Could not recommend any more highly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ski jacket Great ski jacket and perfect for taller men. A little pricey but worth the money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not very warm Not very warm. It definitely kept the window out when I was skiing, but if I didn’t have two layers on underneath, I would have been very cold. I wore it one Day with just one layer and it really didn’t keep me warm. Not what I expected, but otherwise a well-made jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great We are in a cold spell and this coat wad just what i needed. Great fit and very comfortable

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tight fit Great coat tight in the stomach area. I wear XL tall shirts so I normally get 2XL tall coats for room and this coat is still tight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket The jacket is super warm. I’m a little upset with the zipper, but definitely not a deal breaker.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not up to par Had an older version of this jacket and somewhat disappointed. Not as warm, zipper is not as high quality. Hood is not very well designed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok very lightweight coat Honestly too lightweight for a decent ski jacket. Overall an ok very light jacket. Also the left sleeve pocket is poorly designed / too stiff so the sleeve is always folded awkwardly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed for everyday and skiing! Just got this jacket after trying a couple from other major brands. It is just about perfect. Fits very well, and sleeves have plenty of length which is great. I am a fairly slim guy at 5'10, 150lb, and i wouldn't want the jacket any bigger, or much smaller. Bought Medium. Outer chest pockets are very high on the chest, which is great so the contents don't jam into my stomach when i bend forward. Powder skirt is adjustable via two rows of buttons which is great. Unknown feature is that the powder skirt snaps up behind a little flap to tuck it away when not using it, very nice touch! I had no problem with the zipper, you just have to insert it fully like others have said in reviews. The bottom-up zipper seems to get snagged on material easily, but I doubt I'll really use that. Yes, the hood is rather big without a helmet under it. It has a cord that cinches it tighter horizontally around the middle of your head, but one tiny feature i would suggest adding is the classic velcro strap on the back of the hood that pulls the brim of the hood further up and back on your head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best coat ever! Wonderful coat!!! Absolutely love it! So warm and comfortable!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hood requires helmet I am not the first to report this, but this jacket is fine EXCEPT the hood simply cannot be adjusted for someone NOT wearing a helmet. “Comically too large” would not be an understatement. I wouldn’t mind paying more for a detachable hood where I specify helmet hood/ no helmet hood, or the jacket simply include both types. This assumes that a hood that can accommodate each use cannot be designed in the first place. Bottom line, I was looking for a warmer waterproof jacket with a hood and so I ordered this one, but I shall be returning it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and waterproof. This jacket is comfortable but fairly slim fitting. I got the medium and am about 175 lbs. I think the large would be too big

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coat EXCEPT for the zipper !!! Great coat, fits good , waterproof and windproof , plenty warm as well. I would give it 5 stars if it had a real metal zipper in it. The double plastic zipper is a pain in the A** at best, very difficult to get started most of the time. For 250 dollars , it should have a really nice YKK METAL ZIPPER !!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Coat, Terrible Zipper I have had this jacket for two years and the zipper is terrible. The double zipper is a pain to use, and I never used the bottom zipper. The top zipper gets stuck, the zipper separates, sometimes it gets stuck zipped up and makes it difficult to get the jacket off. The rest of the jacket is well made, very warm and blocks the air. I would like to buy a replacement but the zipper keeps me from it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A warm and stylish winter jacket This is the warmest jacket I’ve ever owned! It’s lus it’s not too bulky and there’s many pockets for celll phone storage

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great jacket but zipper only drawback Love the look, feel, and function for skiing. It is lightweight but warm. The zipper is the only drawback. It is a very fussy double zipper. For the price L.L. needs to produce a better zipper.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice lightweight ski jacket Fundamentally I like the jacket I had a little trouble with the zippers and it’s advertised if I’m not mistaken as the warmest category. It’s medium weight and I would say it’s very warm for its thickness. Suitable for Sub Zero if you do a lot of layering under it and are otherwise prepared.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super happy with this one. Great ski jacket which isn't too warm and held up to the cold and wind just perfectly. I went to Whitefish, MT for a week long ski trip and had a heavy weight jacket and this LL Bean mid-weight jacket. It is insulated, but not to thick that I was able to wear a base layer and the jacket for a warm day and a mid layer fleece on cold days. I usually wear large jackets that are not ski jackets, but with a requirement for a mid layer, I chose to buy both large and extra large from LL Bean and returned the large and kept the extra large. Since it looks big on me without ski gear on, I will only be using it for skiing or really cold winter activities. I may buy another one that is smaller for regular winter use. All in all great quality and a really good fit. Looking forward to using this for years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good looking but not good feeling The jacket has an elastic band at waist level to keep snow out if you fall while skiing. I found the elastic band very uncomfortable when wearing the jacket and returned the jacket. I had intended to use the jacket for everyday winter wear. I could not do that with such a restrictive feeling jacket. .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from “slightly fitted” = too small I been buying XXL clothes for years from LL bean and this coat was so small I could not even bring the zippers together. Size up TWO sizes if you want to try this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jacket This is for my grandson who skis and he loves this jacket. It keeps him warm

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Light weight but incredible warm. Nothing gets through it. Long enough to cover lower back and butt.
Date published: 2024-02-05
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Value Feature-wise, a great value. My only gripe is that some of the zippers catch too easily on material... not great when you're on the mountain, wearing gloves.
