Great sturdy backpackI bought it to use for taking my things to chemo. It was very sturdy, but too heavy for me. If you need a great backpack by all means buy this! Many pockets, waterproof, great bag. Just too heavy for what I needed. I did find one that is lighter weight for my needs. Thanks LL Bean for yet another great product!

Love this bagI've been looking for an old school-looking waxed canvas backpack for a while without spending $400+ and this bag came along. It's exactly what I needed for a daily bag. It has a perfectly sized/hidden sleeve for a laptop and the main compartment is very spacious. Comfortable, functional, and looks awesome in olive.

A Well Made Blast from the PastI had a canvas backpack in college that lasted for 20 years, and wanted something similar. This pack is pricey, but does not disappoint.
First off, the waxed canvas already has a distressed look that will only improve with age. I imagine no two of these packs are exactly alike. The stitching, leather handle and zipper pulls, and the zippers themselves are high quality. My first thought was that brass zippers, to complement the other hardware, would have been a nice touch. But a little research told me metal zippers leak like a sieve—when you’re caught out with your pack in the rain.
I almost sent this back, because I couldn’t find the laptop compartment. It’s in the product description, but wasn’t where I expected it to be on the pack. Pictures are included of parts of the product LL Bean didn’t show in the description.
Overall, a great old school canvas back pack—one I plan to enjoy for many years. Worth every penny!
