Never tried fleece before. Didn’t realize it isn’t waterproof nor can it be made waterproof. Slits at the end of the sleeves make no sense to me. “Finger holes?”

Great for hiking!
This jacket is perfect in terms of warmth and design. The zippered chest pocket is great, the thumb holes will be perfect for putting on and taking off gloves or mittens. My only concern is that it started pilling after the first wear, not sure how the durability will hold up.

I’m kind of an in between size of med/large and sometimes have difficulty with shirts/jackets fitting. I wear a 43 sport coat😎. I love this and it’s my new favorite. Will wear by itself and as a layer when in the field.

Perfect for travel
I purchased this specifically for a 10 day trip to Spain in early April: Madrid, Granada, Barcelona. The long range weather forecast was for temperatures ranging between 45 and 65 Fahrenheit with only a 30% chance of rain. I flew there overnight. So I wanted a versatile, lightweight, full zip hoodie that I could wear over any kind of shirt and sleep in plus wear a under a nano vest and or windbreaker and still remove and tie around my waist when the temps warmed up. I also wanted zippered pockets. I got all that. I wore it every day. The only thing I can think of to improve it would be to have the capacity to cinch or snug up the waist in windy conditions. As designed it hangs loosely which was no problem on this trip.

Great zippered pockets!
This is a mid weight nice looking jacket. I chose this style because of the zippered pockets. I often wear my LL Bean packable jacket but this style is good for fall/ spring climate. I chose the teal color & its a beautiful cooler.

I am 6’9” so sleeve length is critical. The sleeves on this were perfect. I did not have to jump size to xxl just to get the right tall sizes sleeve length, and live with looking like I was wearing a balloon. This is not always true with LL Bean tall sizes. This item is versatile, comfortable and even layers well.
