Such a downgrade!
What happened, these beds used to be a really thick denim material and now they are almost tshirt quality. Such a bummer, now I need to find an alternative brand.

Great dog bed cover!
Great dog bed cover! Washes well. Easy to fit back on the bed cushion. We love to machine wash and line dry for a clean crisp wrinkle free look! Grey color is really nice!

What happened?
I’ve bought these dog bed covers for years. Just had an order a new one it was the cheapest lousiest material I have ever seen used to be a nice thick material that wore.very well. Its thin cotton couldn’t even use that for a small dog let alone a Labrador. Better think about your quality this is not your usual L.L. Bean standard. if it wasn’t that I needed a dog bed cover for one of my dogs I would’ve sent this back. I will reconsider when ordering again.

Great Dog Bed Cover
For years I have purchased dog beds and covers for our dogs from LLBean. The quality is very consistent and they have been quite durable. The size fits a little looser which makes it much easier to put on and to take off. I wash them as often as needed and they always look great.
I will continue to purchase these items from LL Bean.

Not traditional denim
I’ve purchased 3 denim bed covers from LLBean in the past and all have been true, heavyweight denim. This was a replacement for a previous LLBean denim cover, but the “denim” is a lesser quality and weight than prior covers. It’s more slick and slides around on our hard surface floors. I need to get a rug pad or some kind of grip to place underneath to prevent it from moving around when my boxers run onto or off it. Not pleased with the downgraded quality. I’ll be looking elsewhere for future replacement covers.

Disappointed at first but now I like it
I was initially disappointed that it wasn't the heavy canvas material of the one I had previously. But the bed was on the porch and got rained on and the inner bedding remained dry because this is water resistant.

Puppy destroyed the zipper
Have been buying llbean beds and covers for 40 years.
Newest cover is shiny with unpleasant texture.
And the puppy chewed up the flimsy plastic zipper.
The value proposition has shifted with the covers.
The inserts are still rugged and long lasting
But the covers…

Still love it!
I still love this but the material is much thinner than the previous jean material for these beds. I still have a few other jean beds from at least 10 years ago that are in great shape and have a thicker jean material. The other dark tan one I just received is still the good thick material. Hopefully this one will last as long. I wash covers each week and put a replacement covers on while the other ones are drying on the line.

Had this a little over 2 weeks and he destroyed the zipper and then took the stuffing out of the bed. Definitely not made for a puppies to like to chew or nest into the bed. UGH. It was soooo expensive and didn't last. Very disappointed.

The BEST dog bed and cover. Machine washable, can dry in dryer, durable but not so thick it’s difficult to take off and put back on.

New fabric is an great disappointment.
After more than 12 years of loving our 4 extra large dog beds specifically for the tough, durable and soft denim covers, the new cover is a huge disappointment. Just feels and looks like some cheap piece of nothing you can get for many dollars cheaper on discount sites. Unfortunately, the same goes with their other garments being sold these days. L.L. Bean, if you don't have the quality of product your name has come to embody all this years, what do you have?

Nice Cover
I bought this in the large for an older bed we had here. I bought the platinum. It's a nice gray shade. The fabric seems more flexible than the old cotton style. I don't find the fabric shiny or strange in any way. I felt it was actually easier to put on the bed. I always found myself fighting to get the cotton covers on because they were so heavy and had no give. My dog isn't a digger or hard on beds, so I think it will hold up nicely. If your dog is a digger, it may not hold up as well as the old cotton covers.

Disappointing
I was very disappointed in this bed cover. I have ordered many of these in the past and they have always been a nice heavy canvas fabric. This one was very lightweight fabric and my dog ripped out the zipper the same day we put it on his dog bed. I don't know if someone the wrong cover was sent, or I ordered a different cover than previously purchased, but this one was very disappointing.

Buyer Beware
I have been buying these dog beds forever. Mostly they hold up. Occasionally a zipper breaks but most of mine simply wear out over time. This new cover with polyester is terrible. Super lightweight and will not hold up to multiple washings. Very disappointed. The minute I opened the package I could not believe what I was seeing. Even my husband from across the room asked "what the heck is that?" Shiny fabric. My dogs do not like the feel. Great. Now I have inserts that are worthless as I will be returning these covers. I know where to go for new beds but I have been told by LL Bean that I cannot put that information in this review. Ugh...what a hassle. I had a product that was totally dependable. Now I don't.
