Perfect for me!
I am preparing for a trip to the Grand Canyon and want a good day pack that would hold my Camelback bladder, some extra water and have room for an extra jacket and a few essentials and be lightweight enough for me, at 66, with shoulder issues to handle. THIS IS IT! While the color is not as blue as the picture, it fit right out of the bag and the straps were not too long. I like the extra wide elastic piece that hold the extra strap length just like a belt . I also ordered the Stowaway and tested both on back to back days on my morning walk. While the Stowaway had more pockets, it was too long for my short waisted torso and the long straps were unruly. While the ACS doesn't have as many pockets as the Stowaway, the pockets are well placed and roomy. Found what I needed in the ACS. While the Stowaway is beautiful, I will be sending it back.

Nice size daypack
This is a nice size pack for a 5’5” woman who needs a daypack that will hold a jacket, sweater, water bottle, snacks and tiny purse. Well padded. I wish the outside bottle holders had a snugger elastic. Otherwise I would have given it a 5.

Perfect pack for day hikes
Perfect lightweight pack for me (5’2”, 115lbs) to carry on a hiking vacation in the canyons of Arizona and Utah. The shoulder straps are very comfortable and the padding made the pack rest comfortable against my back. Ample space for water bottles and all “the usual” stuff!

Good pack for money spent
This bag replaces a "book bag" type pack that didn't have a practical layout for items normally carried on dayhikes - camera, binoculars, rain jacket, lunch, first aid kit etc. My wife and I hike often and her bag is 30 L. This 22 L is a great compliment to that. The bag is made of durable nylon and seems a sturdy build. Inside is a large main compartment for the bulky items. A smaller compartment is designed for a hydration bladder but can hold notebook, guide books etc. The back outside compartment is great for maps, pen/pencil etc. 2 mesh water bottle pockets on either side should handle my hydration needs. There is a lashing attachment which holds 1 trekking pole. The pack is comfortable and easily adjusted with the pack on. I'm guessing it will accompany me on many miles of hiking / travel.

what is this loop supposed to do?
I wish there was a tag that explained what each loop should be used for. Otheerwise my husband was pleased with the backpack.

A bit small?
True to LL Bean, this pack is well made with sensible features. My only not is it seems a bit small. I wear a large tall shirt size and this sits a few inches above the waistline and isn’t very wide. I guess the upside is that it is not heavy and great for day hikes.

Used for cruise excursions on a Cruise.

Poor construction
Purchased this day hiking bag for light hiking with family. Within one hike the seaming came apart at straps. After 3rd hike the strap began to fray. Will be returning tomorrow. L.L. Bean usually has high quality items, this was an exception. Would not recommend this pack to anyone.

Nice pack and great colors but not very functiona
We were looking for a lightweight daypack for managing our daily carry when out with the kids. We liked the ventilated back and straps, the dual expandable water bottle holders. The blue with yellow accents is nice and makes it easy to find things inside the bag but the rest of the inside is the problem. There are no organizational features in this bag. Of course, I knew this when buying it but I don't think I realized how much we relied on those for quick access to things. If you are just carrying a sweatshirt, water bottle and snacks that's fine but with a daily carry with kids it just doesn't work.

Light, Sturdy, and Comfortable
This pack is lightweight but sturdy, comfortable to wear, and has plenty of capacity. I like the fact that it has three compartments. I don't carry a hydration bladder, but that compartment is great for long, slender items. The front zipper compartment is handy for items that you need to access quickly without digging through everything else. And the main compartment is quite roomy. The back panel is stiff enough so that the pack keeps its shape even with empty and padded well enough to keep the pack contents from poking you in the back. The Field Gold color is gorgeous!

Just the right size!

Nice Vibrant Lemon Yellow Backpack for Any Age
