odd sizing. Reviewing the 8.5 here.
I ordered a 9 and it was more like a 9.5 with a wide toe box. So i ordered an 8.5 and it fit like a 7.5 or 8 and was narrow and tight. When i put the two sizes, the 8.5 and 9 next to each other they seemed to be two whole sizes and a narrow vs wide fitting apart. i returned the 8.5, into which my feet would not fit....on the fence about returning the 9s. They are not the most comfortable shoes and seem clunky, but seem well made other than that. The velcro strap makes little difference, more a fashion thing than a functional strap. No arch support.The 8.5 was stiffer than the 9. $34 is ok for these but the original price, too high for the product.

Wonderful Shoes - Runs Small
Finding comfortable shoes is a challenge as I have bunions and wide feet. These are adjustable enough to comfortably accommodate my needs. I have worn a size 9 for years, every pair of shoes and boots I own are size 9. These shoes in a 9 were extremely tight and unusable. I exchanged them for a 9.5 and they fit like a dream. I'm not sure about the other sizes, but IMO, the 9 is very small. I also think these are very cute shoes in person. They look and feel like good quality.

Love these shoes
I love these shoes. They look good with business casual or athletic outfits. And they are so comfortable, I ordered up a half size as suggested and am glad I did. Thanks to the velcro strap, they adjust to to heavier woolen socks for winter and for lighter weight summer socks.

Normally don't order a brand I haven't tried on in person, but took a chance as they were on sale and looked perfect for my needs. Am always, anything I purchase from LLBean is high quality and this was no exception. Slip on--yes! Pull the strap to fit to your liking. They are a bit dressier than your average gym shoes and I love the color scheme. Very pleased as always and great fast delivery.

I liked these enough at first but they do run long and large. For context, the lace up Dirigos in 7.5 fit fine, but this shoe in 7.5 is bigger. It’s just helpful to know that Dirigo sizing may differ, depending on the style. I am considering a swap for size 7.

This 7.5 slip-on is roomier than my other Dirigos (which are also 7.5, but with shoe laces.) Both fit well, but I can wear a thicker sock with this shoe. They do look clumpy or chunky, but that is a style, and sometimes you need comfort. Wear these with something slim and straight to contrast and balance out the chunky effect. As for size, I believe I am between 7 and 7.5, I don’t know if it’s wise to size up.

Glad I bought these, despite some negative reviews
I purchased these in my regular shoe size, and they fit! L.L. Bean suggests going up a half a size, but if you do, your heel will slip out when you walk. These shoes are well-made, very supportive, cushy, and I didn’t have any trouble getting them on and off. Good purchase for me. Hope this helps.

I had some Bean bucks to use, and had been looking for (Lazy me) some easy on shoes that would work for cold weather and light snow. With the sale price, what a deal. They are true to size, comfortable, and to me, look good-even with a casual skirt. I got the black ones.

Really cool.
I read the reviews so wasn’t sure about these but I love them. They are not for a high insole but easy to pull on for me. The Velcro strap is not essential but looks nice. Easy pull on loop. Toe box is roomy.
