Not enough arch support
I bought two different shoes from LL Bean and this pair does not have enough arch support for my right foot. Insoles fix the issue but now I have to buy those for these shoes. I like both shoes I ordered and seem good quality but I'm disappointed both are giving me issues that are completely different.

Stability is great.
Fit beautifully. Flatter sole without awkward raised soles. Keeps me balanced and stable on all terrain.

FIRST QUICK HIKE.
Good basic hiker, but I think I'd choose something more heavy duty for technical trails. First hike was on Makah tribal reservation to Cape Flattery, Washington State, the most extreme NW corner of the Lower 48 states. Trail is only about a mile each way from/to the road, but downhill/uphill and crossed by millions of slick exposed tree roots, also plenty of loose small stones ("marbles") plus slippery/mossy rustic boardwalks over marshy areas. We did it better than flailing tourists in joggers. This shoe's tread rubber surface is slippery until scuffed in on a dry abrasive surface, like walking on concrete for a while. The tread pattern cleared itself of dirt, pebbles and mud when I walked around on a clean surface, no scrubbing needed. The woods were just damp so have not tested waterproof feature yet.

Expected GREAT and they were better than that.
Comfortable and resilient from the get-go. I ordered these for a multi-week trip to Europe. I normally take a 10-1/2 and that was my order. They were COMFY and very sturdy. I often wore them for the full day, which is unusual because I typically love to be barefoot, but that wasn't a good option. Absolutely NO issues with these and I now expect them to last for years.

Not consistent fit with my first pair
Purchased pair in blue and like them. Bought a second pair in green and the shoE created a pressure point on my big toe.

Great shoes for Africa
I needed a pair of relatively light weight but sturdy shoes to wear on safari in Africa. These shoes were perfect for my needs. They had traction, not heavy, and water resistant. The color was also great as it did not attract insects. The price was also reasonable when compared to similar does by other vendors. I highly recommend them not only for trekking but also for all outdoor, backcountry activities. Get a pair!

Excellent quality and comfort.
Excellent quality and comfort. I give them 4 instead of 5 stars because they are difficult to put on and off. Restrictive tongue. I use a shoehorn. Grippy laces difficult to untie.

Great shoe
Bought them for city and countryside walking for vacation where it rains a lot. They were perfect, dry, and very comfortable. I almost always wear a 9, but 9 1/2 fit better. I got used to the green.

super comfortable right out of the box, the color is a bit intense (green) for me, would like something a bit more subtle.

Shoe-B-Do
I'm always prepared to dislike a new shoe, since so few rarely fit perfectly the first time, and then after wearing a bit, become too hot or otherwise uncomfortable. I'm surprised, then, how much I like these shoes, and are happy put them on each time. The fit and comfort are very good, and so far, even though "waterproof", they aren't too warm (but this is March in NJ). I just wanted a fairly supportive, lightweight, sneaker-like shoe to walk around in ( I don't do any true hiking.) and these shoes seem as perfect as can be expected so far. Generally, a tight toe box is what causes me to reject a shoe, even though I have a "D" width, and while these shoes look narrow, I have no complaints about the toe room. So, unlike many clunky "walking shoes", these are attractive, making my size 13's look smaller, and they feel good walking in them, not tiring from the weight.

Awesome waterproof shoe.
Warm, dry, stylish. I was looking for something a little lighter and less bulky than my waterproof hiking boots. Found them!

Comfortable waterproof style
Love the style and waterproof features. Added my own inserts to add more support due to my low arches. These are my main non-work shoes now. Easily recommended.

Waterproof and comfortable
I am going on a multi-day river rafting trip and they suggested we bring along a lightweight hiking shoe. I purchased these and have been wearing them on local hikes and walks. They are very comfortable right out of the box and are the most lightweight hiking footwear I've ever owned. I've waded through puddles and mud on the trails that came almost up to the top of the shoe and my feet did not get wet at all.
I have long feet, so had to purchase the men's version of this shoe. Not thrilled with the color, but love the utility.

Great initially, sole wore out in 10 months
Initially very happy with the fit and waterproofing, which was why I bought them. But the soles are soft and wore down within about 6 months and at less than a year, are now too worn to wear. And man, do they reek! I don’t know if it’s the waterproofing or what, but they incubate odor causing bacteria or something like no shoe or boot I’ve ever owned. I replaced the inserts, and that helped, but not nearly enough.

Fantastic Shoes
I bought these for light hiking but ended up wearing them on all my hikes. They are comfortable and kept my feet dry. Some of the sole material isn’t as sturdy and got nicked up but overall these shoes exceeded my expectation

Super comfortable!
Incredibly comfortable! I wasn’t sure I’d like them at first because they’re not my usual style, but they’re so comfortable to walk and stand in that they’ve become one of my favorite pairs! They are very cushioned but also support my feet well. The toe box is quite roomy without being so big that my feet slip in the shoe.

I expected more.
I can live with the green color and find the fit very comfortable, but I was expecting more at this price point. Granted, I have not tried hiking with them yet, but they don’t feel very sturdy— more like a walking shoe for flat asphalt. And the laces—really? Just flat sneaker laces the get twisted, stretched and will break easily? How about some dense, round, braided laces? I will surely replace the laces.

I really like these shoes!
These shoes are awesome, whether in the office, walking around the neighborhood, hiking trails at a National Park, or on the retail floor. Supportive, but very light and comfortable! I've put many miles on mine and I am impressed.

Good Shoe, Poor Color Choice
As an employee who has presented this shoe to customers and has tried this shoe on many times, I like the fit and feel of this shoe, but the green color does not fit in with a lot of outfits and to some is fairly unflattering (as per customer feedback, with which I agree). I would absolutely love to see this shoe in the black colorway of the insulated boot version (518577); even the saddle color of the non-insulated boot (517918) would suffice.

A hiker that feels like a runner
It feels great, fits great and as a longtime runner it feels more like a good running shoe than a hiking shoe, lightweight and cushioned. I’m happy with it and it’s comfortable right out of the box but some may want a more rigid shoe.

Comfy Enough for Katahdin
I purchased these last minute before a 10-mile hiking trip to Katahdin and I'm glad I did. Almost no break-in period, good support for my arched feet, and handy to have some waterproofing. As rugged as Baxter SP and Katahdin are I was always surefooted and felt the right amount of grip and flexibility on the mountain, especially Cathedral and Saddle Trails. Would buy these again for sure.
