Extremely Disappointing
I was excited to see the package in the mailbox. I quickly opened the package and took out the shirt and I could not believe what I saw. The back of the shirt is solid blue!!! REALLY! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! It looked ridiculous!! I was so disappointed!! The picture shows what appears to be a white shirt with blue piping across the shoulders and down the snap front. I thought, “Wow! This is cool!” So, I quickly ordered it. Big mistake!! Product is not as pictured! Concerning how it fits…I never even bothered to try it on!

Nice shirt
This shirt is very soft and comfortable. I would say it is a bit fitted as I normally buy a large, but this was an XL as it was on the clearance rack and the price was right! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the sleeves are a bit too long (for me).

Disappointed
I was so looking forward to wearing this since I like Henley tops. However there were several problems with it. The fabric was much lighter than I expected for this time of year; however, the biggest problem is that the sleeves seem to be either cut or sewn in oddly. I just about never have a problem with L. L. Bean's tops, but the top of the sleeves did not sit right and seemed to catch under my arms as I moved. Sadly I will be returning this. I hope to see more better-made Henley tops in the future!

Great Purchase
Bought the tops for grab and go for work. Fit true to size. Material is a nice thickness, not flimsy and thin like tops from many other companies. Has maintained its shape after washing. Purchased the Interlock turtle neck and crewneck long sleeve tops and they're great, too. Would like more variety of prints/patterns in the material.

Revised my Sailcloth Stripe Henley Review
The grosgrain like tape used for the placket and neck binding is not white, but IS a light ivory color which I believe was intended to look like the sailcloth color of the body of the henley. It could just be the way the light reflects off the differing texture that caused the grosgrain to look white relative to the knit fabric.

Sailcloth Stripe Henley Description Falls Short
Please do better LL Bean with your online description: 1.The navy contrast reverse side of the Sailcloth option should have been pictured. The navy on the inside of the back, visible in the front view, could have been assumed to be a navy facing. 2. Saying ‘button-front’ henley placket is misleading. This top has SNAPS, not buttons! I don’t see snaps mentioned anywhere. Snaps are for babies and persons with arthritis.
The Description accurately stated the fit was close to the body and intended for layering, not a relaxed fit, since the top is a Henley, not a Polo top. So, to be fair, the fit is true to size in my opinion.
The Sailcloth Stripe I received had optimal stripe placement and none of the cream stitching appeared on the navy stripes. This is probably random good fortune. I found the garment construction to be very good. The medium weight of this striped fabric doesn’t feel soft enough for a first layer, so unless it softens once laundered, would be better suited for a relaxed top layer garment, not so close fitting. Genuine outer wear French striped sailor tops are of heavier weight, never Pima cotton soft. I’m not pleased with the grosgrain like binding used on the placket and neck particularly because it is WHITE, not the sailcloth color of the sailcloth stripe fabric.
I’m returning the garment primarily because I really dislike the snaps, which I think make a garment look inexpensive, which this Henley is not. I’d be interested to read reviews after laundering. If it launders well, I would not consider this a poor quality garment, but good quality. My dislikes are personal preferences, not having to do with quality; the snap placket is of good quality.

Not as good as expected
I wasn’t clear that the back of the shirt was navy. I thought it was just navy trimmed. I guess I should have been more aware. I would have preferred the body of the shirt be all one color. If fits okay and I plan to keep it but it doesn’t look like it cost as much as it did.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!
In the past, I could always count on LLBean for top quality. This shirt is such a disappointment. The material feels very cheap and the thing that really got to me is that the navy blue stitching on one sleeve went on to the white part. Knowing the quality that LLBean stands by, I'm surprised that quality control accepted this and sent this shirt to a customer.
