Awesome but some feedback
Almost perfect. Wish the waste had some ability to keep out drafts. Also stitching quality was sub par but I’ve come to expect this reduced attention to detail from our Bean friends. I had to singe a few loose threads which would have unthreaded. Otherwise very warm and stylish. Love it for the price.

Nice jacket, warmth rating is good, plenty of pockets for storage, two-way zipper is very handy (although the zipper pulls could be more heavy duty).

Nice coat, but flawed for the price
Waxed cotton shell is durable compared to most down-filled jackets. I like the storage pockets. BUT -- it needs a drawstring at the bottom hem or, better yet, a storm cuff at the waist. Metal zipper is finicky, I often struggle to get the coat zipped. It gets annoying.

Sharp Winter Coat
This a a beautiful coat! Definitely not anything like a sweater coat but still beautiful! Gifting this to mySon for Christmas so he hasn’t received this yet but think he will love it! Perfect weight for his Virginia winter temperatures….warm but not bulky. My son is 6’3”, 185 lbs, purchased the Large/Tall and think this will be a great fit. Love the green color.

Keeps the cold and rain out while looking great!
This is a fantastic coat! Three very deep pockets on the outside plus two more deep enough to just put your hands in. The two main pockets will fit your L.L. Bean gloves. The top pocket is large enough to slip in your phone. There is also an inside chest pocket. I picked the dark green color which is more of an olive color to me but it's very nice. If you are wearing a shirt and sweater underneath you stay nice and warm and the cold and rain is not a bother. My only issue is since it is a waxed coat it does pick up lint.

Winter jacket
This jacket is a well built, rugged garment that has replaced my 20 - 40 degrees coats. It's sturdy but I can move in it and it is great looking. I'm sure this will last forever, as all Bean products do.

Lghter/softer than you'd expect, but boxy fit 🙁
The description says this is "slightly fitted", but it definitely isn't. Side-by-side with another "slightly fitted" LL Bean down jacket in the same size, this looks incredibly boxy and unflattering.
That said, if the cut works for you, it's a very well made coat, and the waxed canvas is much thinner and softer than I'd expected, which was quite a nice surprise. I really wish it was a slightly fitted cut as described, because otherwise I loved it. Unfortunately, it does not look nearly as flattering on me as the other coat I ordered to try, so this got returned.

Overall it is a great product -- More like a jacket than a sweater -- The zipper pulls appear to be a mismatch -- While they work a larger pull such as found on Barbour wax jackets would be ideal -

Warm Stylish Jacket
Appreciate the review that ordered Size Medium and said, "wished I would have tried the SMALL". I'm also 5'10ish, 165LBS, and wear the MED Slim shirts at LL BEAN, I took a chance and ordered the SMALL Regular upcountry Waxed jacket. Fit perfect! Glad I read the reviews before I purchased. I was prepared to send back the Small if it didn't fit, but luck was with me. Nice color, yes, it's Dark Green, Looks almost black in an unlit area, but in the light it's a rugged dark green as in the images Beans provide. Feels well made and yes it's warm Doesn't feel like a potato sack as the other review had mentioned. I happen to be in So Cal, so hopefully I'll be able to enjoy this jacket more than 1 month out of the year. Luckly, it's been raining (What?!! I know!) Can't wait to try it out!

Color & fit not as shown in photo
Nothing as depicted. Color is not green but rather a dark brown/black. Certainly not “slightly fitted” as stated & as appeared in photo ; it’s a big boxy sack. A rare miss for LL Bean

Better than expected
I bought this coat in November assuming I would use as a fall early spring coat (not sure why it is labeled as a sweater). Living in the Northeast we know cold and this coat has been my go to this winter. I typically wear a medium and sometimes large but his coat in medium fits me perfectly. Love the look and it’s very comfortable.

Excellent “Country” Jacket
This is an excellent “country” jacket. Warm, water and wind resistant, it has many useful pockets. It has quickly become the jacket I reach for first. I’m surprised that Bean describes it as a “down sweater”. Other outdoor companies make technical “down sweaters”, but this being made of oil cloth pretty much precludes it from being a layering piece. The only improvement might be snaps.

No Adjustments
Nice coat but no drawstrings anywhere. It would fit well if I could tighten things up at the bottom or the waist. An adjustment at the wrists wouldn't hurt either. If the coat cost a few dollars more I wouldn't have noticed. I do notice basic features missing. We seem to have different ideas about what makes a product premium.

Great Jacket!
I have been struggling with LL Bean sizing recently, sometimes I am an XL sometimes an XXL. I needed a new winter coat, this new release came out and did not disappoint. I purchased the XXL on this and fits perfect. Well made, lots of pockets, nice cuff finish, and should be warm low temps. Great color too.
