Great product - enabled me to keep kayaking
The kayak itself and carry pack get 5-plus stars, the instruction sheet barely 1-star (explained later). The kayak is perfect for me...5'1" 68-year-old woman. no way I could lift a kayak on top of a car, but I can carry this by myself, carry case fits everything and has sturdy backpack straps. Kayak rides higher in the water and feels a little wobbly at first, but once I got used to it, rode nicely. Handled mid-size lake choppiness and boat wake just fine. Very easy to inflate and deflate. Construction seems very sturdy. I am TOTALLY pleased with the product. The "directions", not so much. Very poor. A couple of cryptic pictures that I had to study closely, and in the end just put things together by common sense and trial and error. Problems I saw in other reviews before purchasing could have been avoided, in my opinion, by clearer instructions to work the multi-piece air valves. They are cleverly designed to ease inflating/deflating, but if not screwed together properly/securely I can see where some of the air leakage, inflation complaints come from.
But don't let the instructions stop you, I LOVED having a lighter portable kayak this past summer.

LL Bean Manatee - better than no kayak
The best thing about this kayak is it is easy to get into & out of for those of us with hip & knee problems! It is quite a bit heavier & slower than my last inflatable kayak. It tracks ok in calm lake water, but with a bit of wind & waves it is a workout.The 2nd time I blew it up, the pump gauge needle popped off. There is plenty of leg room for a tall person, but the paddle was too short.Tie downs should be in the front so you can access them while you are in the kayak. Velcro loops to hold the paddle when carrying the Kayak would be helpful.. This kayak is better than no kayak!

Great LLBean Kayak
I purchased this LLBean kayak since my old canoe was a bit too heavy to lift on and off my car roof. This kayak is a perfect fit for me! It is easy to carry, takes about 5-10 minutes to inflate, and it tracks well on the water (no spinning in circles.) I’m also able to take my 45 lbs dog along for trips with me since the bottom of the boat is soft enough to act as a cushion for her. I would highly recommend if you are in the market for a new boat. I liked it so much I bought a second one for my sister to take along on trips with me!

Gave as a birthday gift
For my daughters 40th birthday I bought her the LL Bean inflatable kayak. She loved it so much she bought her husband one for his next birthday. Then, after a family camping trip my son in laws parents each bought one for themselves. They are very high quality and very travel friendly.

I like the back pack. It's easy to inflate and stable in the water. I feel like an LL Bean advertisement because of the excessive LLBean LOGOS when I'm in the kayak.

Pump works well, kayak fits in the backpack, the paddle is a little short for a wider kayak and the instructions are not clear about the valve for the floor mat.

Can’t say I love it
My husband bought as his first kayak. 5 different compartments to inflate. Fourth time out there was an air leak at the bladder seam. Found it heavy and clumsy. Sometimes he looked lopsided while paddling. (maybe not inflated properly?) Fins were hard to remove. Really disappointed as thought it would be a winner as well constructed.

Great inflatable kayak
This is a great inflatable kayak! I bought it because I'm 5'2 and was having a difficult time taking my Old Town canoe on/off the top of my car. This kayak takes about 10 minutes to inflate all of the compartments, including the seat and foot rest. It's made of high quality material and I feel comfortable when paddling it on the water. It's perfect for my dog to go with me as well. There's as much space as a canoe of similar size, but far more comfortable for my dog to lay down in the front of me and for me to bring a cooler or backpack in the back. Paddling requires you to correct its tracking at times, but when you stop paddling it tracks remarkably well (no spinning in circles.) Great boat! Thanks
