Sizing for the bottoms is off-too big.
The top fit perfectly but the bottoms were too big so I returned it. I wish they sold them separately.

Bottoms are too big
I measured my kiddo prior to ordering and I thought for sure this bathing suit would fit her. Much to my dismay the bottoms were slipping off of her at the slightest twitch!

Bottoms fit HUGE
My daughter loves this suit (she loves yellow and rainbows, so the yellow rainbow print seems like it was made just for her). I was thrilled to find a suit with looser shorts as she is always complaining of wedgies from snug bottoms. The top is perfect but the waist of the bottoms are huge. Like 4” too big. Definitely a fit error during manufacturing. She won’t let me return it because she loves the top, but she’ll have to wear it with different bottoms.

Top is short, bottom is low waisted
The fabric and color (rainbow spots) is very nice. The fit is weird. The top is short - shorter in the front than the back so it looks strange from the side. The top comes to just above the belly button in front (not like the photo). The shorts are low waisted so that they come up to about 1 1/2" below the belly button (so it is belly revealing with arms down) and even though the shorts (and built in panty) did fit width-wise, it seemed like it would still pull down too easily because it didn't come up high enough. Overall not a good fit, so it will be returned.

Cute Suit but Bottoms WAY Too Big!
I read the reviews and ordered two sizes, just in case. The tops fit great but the bottoms are way too big, even for the size that should fit according to the measurements. Very disappointed as this is a really cute suit and my daughter loves it. This could be easily fixed with a drawstring option. We love the shorts and wish more girls swimsuits had this option, so hopefully LL Bean fixes the sizing issue and keeps this cute suit in production.

Nice Suit, Bottoms Huge
I should have read the reviews before purchasing this suit for my 5 year old, because I see many people have had the same problem I have. I purchased size 5, and my only concern was whether the suit would fit her overall. I have purchased several two-piece suits for her from other retailers, and she doesn’t have a problem fitting into both top and bottom when she gets the right size. In this case, the top fits fine - it’s not skin tight but it is a good fit, and I think it needs a little extra room to pull it on because of the crossed straps in back. The bottoms are so huge on her that they don’t even stay up. This is a shame, because it’s a really cute suit, pretty well-made, and I like the option to have shorts. Maybe L.L.Bean needs to sell these as separates, although I like the convenience of purchasing one suit. Alternatively these could at least design these with a drawstring at the waist. I am now ordering a size down to see how it fits, or possibly to mix and match, which I shouldn’t have to do. I am concerned too that the shorts length in size 4 will be too short, even as the width may fit. I recommend the suit with the caveat about sizing.

Weird sizing
These shorts are so big- but not the shirt. I ordered the 6 for my petite 7 year old and thr shirt was just right- maybe a bit small but the shorts could have fit someone twice her size.

My girl is on the small side and has a narrow bottom half. I expect bottoms to be a little larger on her, however, these were falling off and much larger than her other size 4 swimsuits from LLB.

Top is sizes too small
I purchased this swimsuit in an 8 and a size 4 for my two girls. The top on the 8 was almost the exact same length and width as the size 4! My poor girl could barely get it off, I’m not sure how she even put it on. I tried to include side by side of the two with the labels showing for others to note when deciding on whether or not to purchase this but it won’t upload.

We used the size chart and it’s still too small.
We measured her chest and the top is still too tight. Our daughter is 9 yrs old. Some reviews said that the size ran on the small side. I assumed they didn’t measure before ordering. They are right. The bottoms fit her nicely. But the top is very tight around her shoulders & chest. Too bad. :/
