Our original SunSmart™ apparel, Tropicwear was first introduced in 1992 to protect destination anglers from the hot tropical sun. Customers quickly discovered Tropicwear wasn't just for fishing, using it for just about anything outdoors. It's been updated with a better fit, new stretch woven fabric that's softer and better ventilation. Best of all, Tropicwear still provides UPF 50+ sun protection, or about 10 times more than a white cotton tee.

Wonderful warm weather shirt! Love the somewhat linen-like texture, very breathable, and nice large pockets are very convenient. I wore this shirt almost daily over a light weight tee on a three week trip to Australia. After hand washing, it dried overnight (admittedly the humidity was low). Highly recommend.

Tropicwear Shirt Long Sleeve Plaid Women's Plus
At last, two front pockets I can get my hands in and with Velcro closings. The small back hip zippered pocket is hard to reach and not big enough for much. I might sit on anything I’d put in it. LL Bean: make the blouse for year-round wear with the two big front pockets and an inch or two shorter.

Disappointing
The material is very scratchy and not soft, the collar is pressure riveted down so cannot turn up the collar to protect the back neck without struggling to undo the collar rivets, the pocket flaps are sewn into the seams so if you want to use the pocket you have to struggle to open the velcro each time you use the pocket rather than have a possible tuck- in pocket flap. It looks pretty but annoying to wear!

Nice shirt
Was in the market for some new travel clothing and looked at this one closely. Fit well and had a nice subtle look to the plaid, but I ultimately went with another Bean shirt as the fabric was a bit stiff I felt. But you wouldn’t go wrong with this one..very pretty

Still a nice shirt
Every time I buy these shirts they've changed. Overall still nice shirts, but…changes I don't care for - they’re thinner,
no longer have a straight hem, and the worst change is the big garrish branding on the front. Why do this? It ruined an otherwise nice shirt. I won’t buy one again for that reason alone.

I love the shirt. Nice colors. Light weight. The sunglass cleaning cloth was a nice touch, I guess, but really too small to be useful and there is a zippered pocket in the back of the shirt. I was told that it is used when fishing. Since I don’t fish, I have no idea how I could use this pocket.🤷♀️

Fat but active
Excellent shirt, true to size and fits perfectly. Carefree, wash in a hotel sink, hang it up and dries overnight. My go-to shirt for travel to Scotland! I have every color in the plaid plus the solid turquoise. Wish you had the fish print in this long-sleeve shirt because I'd buy it in every color as well.

Fabulous shirt
I purchased 2 Tropicwear UV blocking long sleeve shirts and couldn't be happier. The details are extensive, the fabric is light and cool and the fit perfect. I'm so glad I ordered 2, the other is in Faded Jade, a beautiful color. I have to be very careful in the sun and these shirts will allow me some happy time outdoors. I just wish it didn't have the LL Bean logo over the pocket which dresses it down.

Finally, a shirt that fits!
Finally, women's shirts made for those who are taller than the average woman. The length in the arms and torso actually fit and I no longer need to purchase a regular in an XL! Love the quality. Wish there were more colors and styles available for tall.

Light and comfortable
I purchased this for a beach camping trip. Although it is long sleeved (it does have roll up sleeves), the fabric is light enough that I wasn’t hot despite temperatures in the 70s. Great sun protection for pale people like me! True to size. I ordered a tall only for extra coverage in the derrière.

Women’s Tropicwate Longsleeve Shirt
Love this short. It’s the 2nd one I’ve bought. I love using these shirts for outdoor activities and just going around tow. I use it as a lightweight jacket f from Spring thru Fall and as a beach cover up. Great for water activities. Dries fast.

Like style, not material
I have 2 “sun smart” shirts with UPF 50 that I purchased last summer. When looking this year to get another the small petites were sold out so I hoped this “Tropic Wear” shirt would be similar. I find the material seems heavier & the venting material in the back makes me feels to warm where the “Sun Smart” shirts are light & breezy.
