A Boy and his Beanie…
I purchased this hat for my son who would wear it 24/7 if I let him. We live in the northeast kingdom in Vermont and he has a bit of a walk to his bus stop in the mornings - so when it’s 30° below zero out there, I need to know he’s going to be warm enough - LL Bean has always been a staple in this home…snow pants with reinforced knees that last through not one but TWO teenage boys!! I can’t say enough good stuff about this company!!!

Hat fits fine, quality seems fine.
The only complaint I would have is I ordered a Black Hat and the one I received is a Deep Dark Purple Color, I do not see that color listed on their website so I guess that is what they are calling Black. On further evaluation by my wife and kids the hat is definitely not Black!

Windy beanie.
I like a beanie with a very tight weave as I wear them on the lake to fish in cold weather. The weave on this beanie is not that tight and wind blows through as I'm going down the lake at 60 to 70 mph. I have a few that are tight enough that there is no issue with the wind. I will wear this on other occasions on days that are milder, it just didn't meet my needs.

Beanie is warm and functional. The acrylic yarn doesn’t overheat, so it can be worn even indoors. Opted for the wide cuff beanie over the Katahdin Pom Hat, as the pom is very narrow and tight on the head; pom hat might be uncomfortable for people who wear glasses, like I do.
