Measurements Inaccurate
This is a nice-looking bag, but it is narrower and taller than the dimensions given. The bottom is 4" wide on one end and only 3" wide on the other, so not only is the bottom width not even, but also it is not 5" wide as shown. The height is 15.5". The bag is too narrow and deep for my purposes.

Stonington - Great carryall!
Found this bag after searching for "book bag" after getting tired of the vinyl grocery store bags. It's well made from heavy canvas and has a bunch of inside compartments and pockets outside, although the bag itself is not heavy. Also has two inside pockets for large water bottles or even bottles of wine! Great for your books, magazines, note pads, planner, electronics, mail, etc. Very happy with the quality as well as the utility of it. Highly recommend!!

Perfect for writers
A perfect way to take my keyboard device, pen and paper notebook too, manuscript folder and all the personal things that follow me everywhere. The compartments are well designed for real use, the long strap lets me have my hand free to get set up, and the short handles make it manageable next to my chair in a class or meeting, such a perfect design -- but for two little things -- the bottom isn't stiff to sit flat on the floor, so it falls over without something heavy in the bottom of it. (It might get better with age) and second, I am very short, so I can't carry it by the cool leather handles. It is bigger than I expected, but the measurements noted are correct and it does hold a laptop.

Great Tote Bag. Big enough for everything & can support the weight. Only thing that would make it better would be a zipped top, or strap across, to prevent items contained inn center-area from sliding out when tote is on side (like when you're in an airplane).

Very useful tote! I carry my laptop and notebook, with plenty of inner and outer pockets for water, sunglasses, pens, hand sanitizer, etc. Comfortable handle, nice color. I don’t use the shoulder handles though, as it would be too heavy for me. But good for carrying essentials from home to car to office, just what I needed.

Can’t live without my Stonington daily carry!
I was unsure if this tote would be all it’s cracked up to be but it has lived up to the hype and then some! It fits not just one but two 40 oz Owalas with rubber feet, a laptop, a 20 oz Owala for tea that I just toss in, a phone, a notebook, a large wallet, a bunch of odds and ends like keys, chap stick, pens, a coin purse, etc and I can still fit a bottle of water and an insulated 16 oz thermos full of lunch! Yes, it’s heavy but guess what the bag has more than held up and looks like new after a couple months of heavy use. The only thing I can possibly think of that the bag could use is an outer zipper of some kind but I don’t even think I’d want one tbh. It’s so convenient to be able to slide stuff in and out without messing with a zipper (and there are inner zippered pockets for things you wouldn’t want to lose like wallets, medication, etc). I love this bag so much I’m going to get a second one for spring/summer and keep the one I have for fall/winter. Favorite LL Bean purchase of all time, narrowly beating out the Bean boots for the win!

Been looking a long time for this ...
This tote just returned from a flight half way around the world. It's sturdy, comfortable and sleek. It holds a lot and yet is not too bulky, fitting close to the body and as a carry on fits under the seat. Can work during the flight as a footrest. Handles are great for hand held as well as shoulder or crossbody. I've tried a lot of bags and they've not done the job as well as this one.. LOVE IT!

Very disappointed in this practical looking bag….no closure….so everything falls out if it falls over, carry handles only work for hands….to short yo put on shoulder, and shoulder strap doesn’t adjust …,so, if you are 5’2” and carry the bag by that strap….it hits you in the knee 😩

I'm so happy I bought this!
People comment on this bag all the time. It's so great for car rides when I have 2 large water bottles. There are holders for each bottle and they don't tip over. This bag rarely tips over unless pushed. It's a great, sturdy, upright bag with a pocket for everything. I don't think you will regret buying it!

Falling apart less than a year later
My husband purchased this bag for me as a Christmas gift last year and I loved it. It was exactly what I was looking for to take to work. I have an office job where I utilize a desktop, so nothing heavier than some folders and basics (phone, keys, glasses, etc). About 3 months ago I noticed that the trim is pulling away from one of the front pockets. It probably was just not stitched together properly, but it definitely detracts from the look. We buy LL Bean as often as possible because of the quality. Sadly disappointed with this purchase.

Best Bag for Business I Have Ever Had!
One of the best bags I have ever had. You wouldn’t think the shape, tall and narrow and deep, would be the best, but the way the sections are stitched in this is maybe the best bag for a business life I have ever had. I am very pleased they were on sale at the Nashua store.
