I have worn size 13 men’s in every boot or shoe I have worn for a great while, so of course I ordered size 13, they were approximately 1-1/2” too long. I had to send them back.

Size problems.
Boots returned due to improper sizing. I followed the instructions, ordering this boot in my correct size, no downsizing needed. I wear a size 10, sometimes 101/2 depending on shoe or boot but this thing swallowed my foot and did not even come close to fitting. So, the boot was returned on 12-6-22, requesting a size 9 be returned. Seems like it should have been sent back to me by now, 12-23-22. This is my fourth pair of LL Bean made in USA boots and I love everything about them except the sizing issue. Two of the four pairs have ordered, all in accordance with Bean instructions, have been too large.
Maybe you need to come up with a printable size measuring device for the boots???

Quality but very odd fitting boot - maybe 3 stars?
THE GOOD STUFF: Made in Maine, from LLBEAN, very easy to slip on and off, quality craftsmanship with good materials, they seem to be warm enough - certainly kept my feet dry in snow. They are very wide at the top and ankle so my flannel lined jeans can be tucked in comfortably to stay dry. Zipper works well and nice color choices. They didn't cause any issues while driving as some of my heavy winter boots do, plus, they can be returned if I decide they don't work for me.
FYI: All my footwear is size 10 W - these are definitely large even though I followed LLBean fitting advice. I think I have normal size ankles for an adult male. Some of the issues I have may not be issues with size 9 - idk - but too tight and they wouldn't be warm enough or have room for heavy socks. This would be no problem if there is an LLBean store near by to try them on first.
THE NOT SO GOOD STUFF: why they designed these with so much extra room in the ankle is a mystery to me - see photos - I suppose they have reasons maybe it's because of the zipper. On longer walks, especially in fresh fluffy snow on top of old snow, they make it more difficult to walk because they are so loose. Better on shoveled walkways for short walks. The looseness might be what makes my socks slide down too. These boots would get sucked right off if walking in mucky mud. I have many pairs of boots, even others from LLBean and none of them have so much room in the ankle. Photos show the problem of the excess room at the front ankle leather part of the boot.
IN CONCLUSION: these boots will mostly be used to take my dog on short walks; easy on and off, warmth and stability, and the high quality are key reasons I'll likely keep them. Plus made in Maine & LLBean.

Superb Zipper Boot
Originally, I ordered the zipper boot in a size 10. It was too big, so I returned them and ordered a size 9. The size 9 fits me perfectly! It is comfortable and warm and keeps my feet happy. I know this is going to be my go-to Bean boot when running out to get the mail or dash off on a quick errand. They are super easy to put on and take off, and the zipper STAYS UP on these boots, which has been a problem for me on other brands of zippered boots.
I highly recommend these boots to anyone who wants the comfort and quality of an L.L. Bean boot but does not want to lace up a pair. These boots are super easy off and on, and the zipper glides freely. For people who have trouble bending over to tie laces or have arthritis in their hands, these boots are for you. Buy a pair!! You’ll be glad you did.

The shoe part fit well, but the leather upper part was so large, he could easily get the boot on and off without unzipping. It looked odd and he said it felt floppy when walking. We returned.

Nice boots, decent quality, caution is they run very large. Order down at least 1 size for sure. I usually am size 12 D and never smaller than 11.5 even for fine fitted dress shoes. I got 12 boots but are sending back for size 11. Ridiculously large. So large I’m hoping I don’t need a size 10 if the 11 is still too big. That’s how large the 12 was. They are sized like clown shoes. But the boots seem nice though.

Beautiful, warm boot
I bought a size 10 boot, as I wear a size 11 shoe and belived a size 10 boot would fit me well with lightweight socks. Far from it. The boots are gorgous but the sizing was way off! I am returning the boots and have ordered a size 9, which I am sure will fit me much better.
I do not know who manages the sizing for Bean boots, but my experience has always been they are cut big - very big. Use caution when ordering your boots! That being said, once you get a pair that fit you well, you will be in love for life.

Great customer service follow up
I had a heck of a time ordering these boots. Just when I was about to give up a very kind customer service employee came to the rescue and found a pair at a store and had them ship them to me. My faith was restored that customers happiness still matters. The boots are what they are known for and these live up to the earned reputation.

Boots are well designed but need some half sizes
Love the construction of these boots: rugged, easy to get in and out. Only problem was that my 10.5 size doesn't fit well in an 11 and they don't offer half sizes. Even withLLB boot socks they are loose.
