Product Details

One of the coziest versions of our legendary Bean Boot yet - featuring a plush fleece lining, insulation for warmth and an easy-to-wear zip-front design.

  • For this style, we recommend you order a half size down from your regular shoe size. For example, if you normally wear a size 9, order a size 8.5.

Our unbeatably comfortable fleece-lined Bean Boots are the ideal choice when temperatures start to drop. They're lined with warm, plush fleece and handsewn right here in Maine - one pair at a time - by expert craftspeople whose technical skills and passion for their work is evident in every pair they make. Warm feet haven't gone out of style in 100 years - we're betting they won't in the next 100 years either.

  • Uniquely shaped foot form offers comfort and stability, and a steel shank adds support.
  • Cozy fleece lining provides cold-weather comfort.
  • Leather-and-suede uppers offer full-foot water resistance.
  • Insulated for additional warmth.
  • Legendary chain-tread outsole gives reliable traction.
  • Iconic triple-needle stitching adds long-lasting durability.
  • Rubber boot bottom keeps feet dry.
  • Cordura nylon zipper gusset for easy on/off (not waterproof).
  • Not designed to stay submerged in water.
  • Best for rain, snow and cold conditions.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed Boots were of very low quality and returned them. Not the quality I expect from LL Bean.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice but too fat Sole is soft, great for snow, not so much rain and mud, too much suction in Ohio mud. Bulky upper, plan on tucking your pants into the boot, or, wear knee socks, or you will be hating life.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mystery Size Gamble I had read reviews such as Randi's (12/31/23) who went thru the frustration of 3 attempts to find the right size for her husband's size 9 1/2 foot. So having a size 9 1/2 foot myself, I thought I would learn from her experience and ordered a size 9 because I like to wear thick wool socks. When they arrived, to my surprise and dismay they were still over an inch too long even with my thick socks, and my foot slid around inside the boot! So I returned them for a size 8, just like she had to do. Well the length was finally right, but now the boot was too narrow and I had to send them back too and cancel my order, which was very disappointing because this design was exactly what I was looking for. Easy slip on and zip up. Come on L.L. Bean, a whole size and a half down from my normal size? Why?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the boots, need a wider version I love these boots. They run true to size, built for US feet for a change. My only problem is that they only come in a Medium width. At this price there is no reason they could not be offered in a Wide width! This has been a problem over the years with many boots, and shoes. Also no 1/2 sizes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Boots run big. My husband finally LOVES his LL Bean handcrafted boots size 8. However, he normally wears a 9 1/2. We initially ordered a size 10, too big, returned for a size 9 still too big. Size 8 perfect! He wore the same thick, heavy socks with all three sizes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WAY TOO BIG I've had my boots about a year now, and overall they are a great boot, but all of the reviews about size are correct, they are much larger than normal (my normal size is 11). Another negative is that the front zipper comes down if I run at all, which I do when walking my dogs. So I am going to order one size down now, size 10, and hopefully that will take care of both issues. I like that even when walking in a lot of mud, the sole seems to stay clean or is very easily cleaned before walking inside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Boots These boots are excellent quality. Unfortunately my husband won’t wear them and they are still sitting in the box. I have the tie up Women’s boots made by L L Bean. They are perfect for the winter’s here in Wyoming.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from "Floppy Fit" Your feet are going to stay dry and somewhat warm, but the fit is "floppy." The length and width might be fine, but the fit around your ankles is going to be lose because the front zipper cannot snug up against your ankle! A side-mounted zipper would have allowed the boot to close against your ankle, but as it is your foot will feel like a pea-in-a-pod even with the zipper fully up. And no, any sock heavy enough to fill up this empty space would almost preclude forcing your foot into the toe area. A good pull-on solution when the weather is foul, but you must rescue the dog from the back porch, or the paper from the sidewalk. Not an all-day piece of equipment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Front zip LL bean boots This was a well made warm boot. I purchased one for my son. Unfortunately the front zipper made bending and squatting very difficult and uncomfortable. I also gave one to my father-in-law and it caused a blister. It worked better with thick socks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot I didn't know I wanted! I went to LL Bean to pick up some slip on boots for winter. My criteria for the boots were: - I live in the Chicago burbs, so cold and snowy/rainy for many months - Boot that I could easily slip on like my Merrill Moc slip ons. (Something that doesn't require lacing up, and ideally even bending over to put them on. Want to be able to do things like quick put on so I can take the trash out, when I'm not even going to throw on a coat.) - Keep my foot warm and dry for 30-60 minutes in the Chicago winter (walking through some snow and down to around 0 degrees for that timeframe, basically my walk to school with my kids and such) - Be able to drive a car (Not looking for big boots that make simple things like that hard) I tried a couple different slip on boots at the store, but they were all not fitting exactly how I'd like. As with most slip on boots, the part of getting my heel in was usually the challenging part, and not have the main footbox be too big. Sizing: I saw these on the wall and asked to try them on. I'm normally a 10.5 Wide foot, and I started with the size 11 since they only come in Medium. (Was wearing normal socks at the time.) The boot was too big, so I went down to the 10s. They fit my feet perfectly. - I rated Length as "true to size" if you go by their sizing description notes, which I think are accurate about socks and such. - I claimed they were "slightly wide" since they say they are Medium, but I've never had a 10 boot or shoe fit my wide feel like this, so I think they are underselling the width. Utility: For my want of easy slip on, they can't be beat. The zipper at the front makes all the difference. That allows the upper to open very wide to easily slip your foot in, and better than a side zipper since it affords the upper to open more in the width dimension, so your foot/toes go in easier. And the normally problem part of putting boots on for me with my heel was not an issue. After that, they fit well enough that if I was just say taking the trash out, I didn't feel I had to zip up the boot, they would stay on fine as I walked outside. If I do zip them, that is very easy to do, and I like the gusset behind the zipper, makes me an extra level of protection against snow/water getting in. Also, the boot is pretty flexible in the sole, so things like driving a car are pretty easy, feels more like a shoe than a boot IMO, so great there for my use case. Comfort: Overall, these are pretty comfortable boots. I've had them for two months and walked though a bit of snow and rain, and have not had any issues with moisture. As for warmth, I was afraid they may not keep my feet warm since it's really a rain boot base. I used them in multiple negative temp days (-20 on some), and my feet stayed warm enough. They definitely were not the coldest part of me (usually my face or legs were when outside), so they worked well for the temps I was shooting for. My only two complaints about the comfort are: - The sole is pretty thin, which has the benefit of being flexible for things like driving, but it doesn't give much arch support. So if you're sensitive to that, then you'd probably at least want to look at inserts, or just look at another boot with better support. - The tread isn't the best for icy conditions. Snow/rain is fine, but it's a mild tread, so if you really are concerned with lots of ice traction, then may want to look at another boot. (I haven't slipped myself, just don't think it's the master at ice.) Value: It's a $180 boot. Considering you can get a lot of other boots (even from LL Bean) for cheaper than that, I can't say it's "cheap". But for value, it hit all the things I wanted, and I couldn't find a similar boot cheaper for it. So if you have similar requirements, you'd probably do well like me and just get them. I know I'm glad I did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite Easiest winter boots I've ever had. I love just slipping into them to bring the dog out, grab firewood, or run to the car. When I say they run true to size, I mean there's enough room for thick winter socks. They are looser when you're barefoot, of course, but not so loose that you feel they'll fall off. I only fully zip them if I've a longer action planned like dog mushing in Lapland. Yup, toast warm even there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needed These were what was needed! I have had LL Bean boots since the early ‘90s. Needed to replace an old pair and these fit the bill. Easy slide on, correct fit, same quality of construction as before as far as I can tell now. Warm and dry. Two most important aspects. What else is necessary?! So enjoy them!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Handy Mine were a little too large so I added another insert and they fit well. These are very handy in the winter for getting firewood, shoveling snow, running to the store, etc. There is little ankle support so I would only advise these for light hiking on level ground.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst ever boot boots are very uncomfortable. Runs large and no support. I had to put Dr. Scholl's pads in them just to make them wearable. I should have returned them but the box got thrown away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Boots I needed a pair of boots that are easy on/off and would keep my feet warm. These fit the bill perfectly. Also, within a few days of receiving these boots we got a seven inch snow. These boots have performed wonderfully - easy on/off and have kept my feet very warm. I would highly recommend them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from These run a full size larger I bought these for my regular size. But by the time I wore them for a few hours I realized they were A SIZE TOO BIG. And by that time it was too late to send them back as it was raining. I would recommend going a full size down for anyone, thick socks or thin socks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made boots Only come in even sizes, so large for me. With heavy winter socks, boots are still a bit stiff and not as flexible as I would like. Hope they break in a bit over time. Well made, nicely lined but the tops are loose. I think I will stuff my pants inside them which may be how they were designed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Cold Weather Boots I bought these for my husband for Christmas to replace his old snow boots. They are the perfect fit. They are lined without being too bulky. They are super easy to get on and off. They are perfect for mid west snowy and cold weather. They are well insulated. They were his standard size 11M.
