Impossible to get on
These boots are beautiful to look at BUT absolutely impossible to get on. I ordered the correct size and width and could not get these on. Too bad. I have always had good luck with L.L. Bean products. So disappointed.

Very comfortable
I really like the look and feel wearing these boots. The fit is perfect. The only negative is they are hard to pull on. I used a shoe horn 3 or 4 times and now I can pull them on without it, although still a bit difficult. I think they will loosen up the more I wear them. The soles have good grip on slippery surfaces - why I bought them. I hope they last several winters because I really like them.

Booties are “HOT”
I love the look of these booties! They are pretty wide, and I had to take them off in 40 degree weather due to them being so hot on my feet!! Hoping they really are waterproof, keep my feet warm and dry in below freezing, AND most important are comfortable to walk around I. All day. Too early to tell.

Warm boots
These boots kept my feet warm and dry during a two week trip to Iceland. I agree that they are a bit difficult to get on. I bought a half size larger than my usual 7 1/2 in a wide width since I was wearing thicker socks than usual which may have helped.

Cold weather boots
Really nice snow boots that will keep my feet so warm and dry. I can not wait to wear them on the many outdoor walks I hope to take this Autumn and Winter. I bought these boots because I always have cold feet when the weather turns cold and wet.

Horrible fit and super disappointing.
These do NOT fit well at all. Getting your foot in them is next to impossible and then if you can get your foot in there it’s going to be squished. I ordered a full size up from my usual AND got it in wide and this shoe was still no where near fitting. I’m honestly super disappointed in L.L. Bean. Quality and craftsmanship has been going downhill.

Good cold weather shoe
I wore these boots on a trip to a cold climate where I needed a good walking shoe. They were comfortable on long walks and were also good on a short hike over uneven terrain. Importantly, they fit my feet well (narrow heels, average toe box). Great boots.
PS - a shoe horn is helpful.

Tried and found to be true, the nay sayers that is
I always wear a 9 1/2 W but given the amount of reviews that had trouble getting these boots on I ordered a 10 W. Using a long shoe horn I could not get my foot into the boot.
I suspect that many of those who had trouble with these boots are inclined toward a high instep which is my situation. Please disregard the mandatory length and width choices, like I wrote I never got my foot inside so they are nothing more than guesses.

Comfortable, Dry and Warm….Rain, Snow or Sunshine
My follow up review…I bought these shoes to take on a Winter trip to Switzerland and Germany. They were FANTASTIC!!! I wore them everyday, all day for over a month. They were great for walking and hiking. They kept my feet dry and warm, even when I wore them sledding in the Swiss Alps! I’m back home now in San Diego and they are still my shoe of choice because they are so comfortable.

Hard to Put On
This boot is absolutely darling, but sadly, even though I have a narrow foot and ordered the correct size I couldn't even get my foot all the way into the boot. The opening is very narrow and doesn't stretch much. It seems like it's an issue with how the boot is cut. I have purchased many items from LL Bean in the past and love all of them. I wear a size 9.5 and ordered the same size. I didn't exchange for a different size as the length appeared to be fine.

Collar too small for a slip on
I returned these snow sneakers because I was unable to get them on. The collar would not accommodate the width of my foot. Since I was unable to put these on I cannot rate the size.

Disappointing
I love LL Bean and been a customer for many years, but was very disappointed with these snow sneakers. I ordered them online in Black and could not get my foot in the shoe even with thin socks. The opening is so narrow and the cloth sides had no stretch at all. I returned them to my local outlet and saw that I was not the only one returning them. There were five others on the shelf, just in my size. There also happened to be one pair in Blue and I tried it on. There was a little effort to get my foot in, but it had much more flexibility than those in Black. I did notice that the shoe ran a little small. All my other Bean shoes are size 9, but my toes were right up against the tip. I would need to order size 9.5. I hope the manufacturer makes a change by either making the opening more flexible or adding a zipper. These snow sneakers would be great shoes if only I could wear them.

Great boots, and easy to put on!
These boots are warm and comfy. I almost didn't buy them because of several reviews saying people couldn't get them on. I have no idea what's going on there but there is no problem putting these on. If it's a size thing, I wear a women's size 10. Really, completely normal shoe-on situation here!

I bought these shoe boots for cold mornings for my commute to work. However, I cannot get my foot in the shoe! The opening is so small/narrow and nothing I did helped. These shoes would be perfect if there was a side zipper. Unfortunately I am returning.

Great warm walking boot.
I bought this boot just to walk in cold and snow. I walk a lot, and they are supportive. I like that they are light, warm and have good traction. My feet feel great in them. The only thing to know before you purchase is they can be difficult to put on. It can be a struggle to get the boot over your ankle. Even, with this I am happy I bought the shoe. However, if someone struggles/limited with finger/ hand strength and dexterity these shoes might not be a fit. My foot and ankle are on normal to slim size. Foot size 6.5.

Terrible design
I will be returning these as they are far too difficult to get on. They are so tight around the opening. I also ordered a wide boot but my foot was completely squashed from the sides, I can’t possibly imagine what a normal width would feel like! I ordered size 9 as that is my size and it said it ran true to size, but it most definitely does not, squashed toes too. I'm very disappointed as this style is exactly what I'm looking for. How long will they "pass this info along to the design team" before they finally change the design??! Please fix it, LL Bean.

Excellent and comfortable snow boot.
For me this is definitely a 5 star ankle boot which has enough traction to deal with snow. If you have a high instep you may need a shoe horn (or handle of a large soup spoon) to slip into the boot. I use the soup spoon handle. Once on, they are extra comfy, warm and easy to wear in snow or not. I wish these came in more colors. Fit is normal/expected.
