Beautiful, Fits a Bit on the Wide Side
I am a size 8W for most shoes. I loved the look of these, but figured they would be too narrow. Not so! Felt like they were made just for me. On the down side, the laces do not flow easily through the eyes. I foresee breakage eventually. Also, the footbed under ball of the foot is not very supportive. I'll switch out the inserts and hope for the best. That said, I love these boots

Nice looking rugged boots for winter walking.
What I most like about these boots is that they are both rugged and nice looking. Not easy to find this. They seem to run a smidgeon on the small size; I ordered a size 9, and generally wear a size 9 except in sneakers, which I size up 1/2. I think a 9 1/2 in these would be too big, but the 9 feels like it could be just a smidgeon longer. I'm keeping them and will give them a try next winter. Bought them for cold weather hiking in the woods when there's minimal to no snow on the ground.
Hoping they'll not only keep my feet warm and dry, but also be comfortable during long walks.

didn't fit
I can't seem to find LLBean boots that are comfortable enough. These looked great but just were too heavy and didn't seem comfortable. Sometimes I wonder if I'm putting them on correctly. Maybe in person with a sales person they would feel better. Too bad. Wanted to like them.

Comfortable boots
These boots are comfortable and I have a difficult time finding shoes that don't bother my feet. I went one-half size up to make sure they weren't too tight. My normal size is 8 and I bought size 8 and one half. This is what I do with all my shoes. So, I would say this boot fits true to size. I wear medium sized socks with them. I lace them up to the fifth hole, leaving the two top holes empty and then just slip my feet in them and walk off with them. This works for me.

Comfortable and warm. They fit great with cozy soc
I was worried they would be too big so I tried the pull on boot at the store. I sized down one half size and they fit great. I bought the brown color and love it.I wore them all day and very comfy. Every time I wear them I get a compliment. Laces are easy to tie and stay tied all day.

Heel Area Too Loose
I was hoping these would be great winter boots, but as others mentioned, the heel area was too big and slipped, no matter which socks i wore.
The toe area was fine, but based on the poor fit, i returned them.

Just what I was looking for
I found this boot extremely comfortable. I have a wide toe box and this boot was comfortable, even with a medium weight sock. Stylish combined with function, as in the good-grip lug sole, was what I was looking for. With a medium weight sock the heel does not slip on me if I lace it up snuggly. My only suggestion would be to have quick-lace hooks the last few top rows to facilitate lacing and unlacing . True to size, enough width for a medium-to-wide toe box. I wear a size 9.

Poor workmanship ~ Not worth the $ or hassle
I first ordered a similar pair but the sizing was way off and so I exchanged it for this pair of boots. They fit well enough and were comfortable. However, after less than 60 days, the stitching was tearing apart and a hole was beginning to form on one of the heels. These were not daily worn boots....just a cute pair I wanted to wear sometimes. So I wore them about 20 times or so. I am returning these and am now reluctant to buy another pair of boots from LL Bean. Their quality is generally great but this has certainly made me doubt that's the case now. I really wonder if the great reviews of these boots will change given time. It did not take time until mine were defective. The returns are easy enough but certainly a hassle. Don't waste your money.

Pretty but will they last?
Fashion boots are not rugged enough for hiking but sure do look pretty. I worry that the lacing system will break down quickly, eyelets are attached to the boots by flimsy cloth loops. Overall fit is slightly large, insoles are molded and removable. Kinda pricey for mediocre quality.

Great boots!
These are beautiful, well-constructed boots, sturdy and high-quality. They're comfortable with one small exception -- a seam on the tongue of the boot would be uncomfortable with thinner socks, but fortunately I only need these boots in cold weather. I think these will be a long-time favorite, just like all my other LL Bean purchases!

Cute, But a Pain to Lace Up
I am returning these. The 7.5 is too narrow and the 8 is too long (I have wide feet and typically wear Keens). The boots are so warm that I can't add socks to make the 8s fit. They are also kind of a pain to lace up, the laces twist, and the eyelets move around weirdly as I tightened them, which I don't want to deal with in an expensive pair of boots. Other than the size issue, they were very comfortable and cute, though and were obviously good quality.

These boots are so amazing!!! Not stiff at all, the heel has nice cushioning, and they are so stylish! So excited to wear these this winter. I bought the grey, as my size (7 1/2) was already sold out in brown. Please make more of the brown color boots in this style, and I’ll buy those too!!!

Warm and Comfortable
I love these boots and now know what the fuss is all about. People from Maine often talk about Bean Boots. These are the most comfortable and sturdy boots I have every owned. They seem to be holding up well, so far, in our Vermont winter. They are like my feet being in a warm comfortable bed.

So comfortable walking the dogs, running errands and they look fantastic! Like the $1,000 designer boots seen on celebs. I took a chance b/c so many reviews said how "comfortable" they were. They are! No break-in period needed. I wear a few classic bean boots, the Rugged Cozy's win! Quality boots. I'm paying forward the good review as others' did. Perfect fit, my size 8.5, bought 8.5. I wear thicker socks usually. Warm feet so far, very comfortable indoors no sweaty feet. But when out in deep snow or long periods in cold I wear (the warmest) Bean Snow Boots. Added LLBean boot guard to protect, Gray color. Thanks LLBean! Great product! Love them

Very warm and comfortable.
These are warm and exceptionally comfortable. I ordered a half size up so I could wear thick socks. My friend loved them so much I ordered her a pair for her birthday. To spruce mine up I bought red shoelaces to change out sometimes.
