Equally soft and durable, these shorts are an abrasion-resistant, moisture-wicking blend of cotton and polyester with spandex that stretches with every move, yet won't stretch out of shape. Comfy enough for everyday but technical enough to perform on every adventure.

VERY HIGH QUALITY
These shorts have an attractive, distinctive pattern in the stretch weave. Very comfortable, dark grey color with long drawstrings for the elastic waist. Probably buy an additional color. The price is higher than some other models, but the value is there.

Durable and Functional. 5 Stars!
YES!! Such a great product. Can’t stress enough how practical and functional these guys are. Perfectly suited for everyday wear. Drawstring is loose but it’s supposed to be for comfort and boy are they comfortable! Soft and durable quality. You can’t go wrong with these. I have 3 pairs now and wish i had them in black too but the site hasn’t had them available in quite some time already. : (

LLBean shorts disappointment
Draw string doesn't secure the shorts very well if you have anything in the pockets (like a cell phone or wallet). Ending up donating them to clothing charity.

Looks good and medium fit well; I'm, 5'10", 170lbs. The stretch fabric works well for outdoor activities including some sports. However, I am not a fan of the external draw string. If it had belt loops it would be more usable and I would have given it a much higher rating.

Good Shorts That Could Be Great
Shorts fit true to size. I am 6' 175 lbs and wear a 32 in all pants. A size medium fit great on me. For some reason it is hard to find shorts with zipper pockets which in my opinion is almost a must have. I can't count the times my zippo, flashlight, or pocket knife has slid out of my pocket while sitting in the car or on the couch. These shorts have smooth opening zippers which is a plus. I would have probably purchased 2 pair if they had a light grey or khaki option as well. As it stands, the other colors aren't neutral enough to match with a wide variety of tops.
I would rate these shorts 5 stars if the following changes were made: 1" longer as they are just a tad short for my 6' frame, the pockets are lined with a cheap feeling mesh and I wish they were made from the same material as the shorts themselves, and lastly I would have preferred a more robust drawstring for the waist. Also, I added small paracord loops to the pocket zippers front and back because it was a little hard to find the zipper pulls quickly and easily, but I don't care that LL Bean didn't put any as it was easy to add on after the fact.

Active women: Don’t pass these by!
I visited the LL Bean store me, looking for a pair of shorts. After trying on a pair of Women’s shorts in my size and finding — yet again!— pockets that are not deep enough to accommodate my cell phone, I decided to try the Men’s side of the store. Voilá! Shorts that fit great, have zippered security pockets and yes… plenty deep enough for my cell phone! And my small wallet in a zippered back pocket!
When will clothing makers finally Get It that active women carry things in their pockets besides a tissue, chapstick or a credit card???

Well made and comfortable
These shorts are well made … feel comfortable … and are exactly what I was looking for … in my opinion they run a little big … my waistline is 39 and I originally ordered XL … they were way to big … so I went to Large and they fit perfectly… after washing them a few times the material does not
shrink … the one complaint I have with LL Bean sizing is the inconsistency…. That said … I am totally happy with my purchase and would recommend these shorts .
