This just might be our favorite family tent in our 109-year history. Field testing found it to be extremely weatherproof, roomy and well-ventilated. A rear "mud room" keeps wet, muddy boots and gear out of the sleeping area.
We worked with the guides from our Outdoor Discovery Program to develop a tent capable of enduring harsh Maine weather. They put it to the test on the rugged Maine coast and on a multiday canoe trip down the Penobscot River. Our guide said, "we had heavy downpours on our first morning, and the tent was bone dry. It was great to have the back vestibule to keep our gear dry. And high winds were no problem." In fact, the ODP loved it so much, they'll be using it for all their overnight trips.

Excellent Purchase
Just got back from our first camping trip using this tent. It was a snap to set up, and it took us through hot days and a thunderstorm and contrasting hot/cool weather. The dimensions allow for not only six people (as advertised) but also the door size and height allowed for us to put two (and would have allowed one more) army-size cots. Through the thunderstorm, no water entered the tent except where human error of pulling the outer zipper pull string in left a gap and made the overhanging fabric pull in as a funnel. It was excellent in all other ways. We love all the zipping screen features, but I would add in one more foe the back door for dry hot days that cool off at night..bug free. The rain fly is also excellent amd was a selling feature for us. Thanks for an excellent family tent, LLBean!!

Mixed feelings
This tent is so close to being awesome that it makes the few drawbacks more disappointing. It’s huge/tall, easy to setup, and has a great roof vent design that didn’t leak during very windy storms. But only one door is screened so no cross ventilation, and it doesn’t have a full fly—they stopped short a few feet and put an overhand over one door which, sadly, leaked badly during one storm. We’ll try sealing the seams around the zipper to see if that helps.
Love but bummed=4 stars.
