Bean boots are one size to big
Order a size smaller. They come to big. Not much stability cushion in rocky terrain.

Easy to pull up. Comfortable. Unfortunately, I got cold toes during -5C in Toronto. I returned them.

Fantastic Boots
Love these boots from the comfort to the warm. Very easy to clean all the mud and stuff off after a hike. Only subtracted a star because the laces seem to be unwinding of sorts but still works.

Still the same quality after all these yesrs
High quality, American made boots, built to really last. They replaced a pair that gave me three decades of use.

LLbean 8 inch tumbled leather
These are terrific, except the insoles are somewhat lacking. They are not shearling lined so I dinged the boots for this. Once I got better insoles, a solid 5. Cheers.

Fit for a Canadian Winter
The boots are top quality, with leather and shearling lining aptly described in the product description. We are just across the border from Maine in New Brunswick, Canada so I was worried that maybe these weren’t quite up to the task as a winter boot; however, the boots are warmer than my old Kamik boots, making a morning walk commute in -10 weather a real pleasure. The treads are great for cold and fresh snow/slush, though I’ve yet to get into the icy pack that Canadian winters bring in January and February. I imagine I’ll need traction aids just like I needed for my old Kamiks.
The flexibility of the rubber was something I hadn’t expected, and it’s incredibly comfortable and accommodating of a slightly wider foot (I bought D width size 9). I’m slightly worried about the softness of the tread, as I’m likely to wear down the heel of the boot long before the end of life of the boot itself.
I do find an extra $200 over the regular 8” Beam Boot for the shearling lining and insulation a bit of a reach, but I got mine on sale for $50 off plus 15% off online and found this reasonable. Compared to Sorel or Kamiks, I still appreciate the added quality of the materials and construction. The $200 (CAD) for the regular Bean Boot sounds great and I will be back for a pair of those come springtime.
The sizing recommendations were perfect - I wear a size 9 Blundstone and a size 43 Birkenstock, and the size 9 insulated Bean Boot is just right. Would likely size down to an 8 for any unlined boot.
Customer service was great - I had accidentally ordered the size 10 boots I had left in my cart before deciding to size down, and they were quick to answer my call and cancel the order so I could place one for the 9s. Shipping was fast, and they arrived a day early.
We have an LL Bean an hour and a half a way in Moncton, New Brunswick but the online store was perfectly convenient - great to save the $60 in gas it would cost to drive there and back these days.

stitching let go 2 years in
Left heel blew apart taking them off separating upper from lower. Went to store for return who directed me to Maine who then directed back to store who then directed me back to Maine who then directed me to store who directed me to maine who then told me I could ship to Maine for repair price.... Do not buy from LL bean as they do not stand behind their quality and it took me 2 days of calling to get nowhere. Will never darken their doors again.

Bought these in Maine and just love them! warm, dry ,comfortable, and great snow ice traction. I enjoy still hunting and these boots feel great after a whole day of hunting on my feet. They make walking softly and quietly much easier than my previous boots.

RECOMMEND W/ RESERVATIONS FOR MEN WITH NARROW FEET
Wore these 1st time final day of Memphis In May/Mud BBQ Contest. My flat feet measure 12C, & even with their substantial shearling lining, thickest LLB Cresta Hiking Socks + thin polypropylene liners + 1/4-in-thick spongy namebrand aftermarket insert beneath stock removable footbed + cinching laces super-tight, these 12 Ms are STILL a bit wide. Excellent quality thru-out, rather heavy, superb pebble-grain leather that's tanned darker than the usual. For a classier look, suggest switching stock laces for variegated medium tan/dark brown, then lace thru all eyelets & finish with a figure-8 knot in both ends to keep in place.

Recommend
I only had the chance to wear these twice in the Winter that wasn't in Connecticut.
Nonetheless, I felt and know the quality of the boot. I highly recommend them. Fit, feel, comfort, and look are great.
Hopefully, they get some mileage on them next Winter.

Disappointed
I live in the mountians of Colorado and need a good snow boot. I purchased the 8" shearling thinking that the insulation would go throughout the entire boot. It only covers the ankle and that is not what gets cold. The boots are of good quality but the insulation value is almost nonexistent. Fortunately they are quite large and I can wear 3 pair of socks to keep my feet warm.

True, comfortable classic
These were picked out for me by a veteran employee at the Freeport store. The boots have been amazing. Great traction and warm. Order a size smaller than your normal size. Thanks to the bootmaker, Breanna in Brunswick, ME.

Absolutely PERFECT !!!
I moved to Maine from Michigan in August and decided to buy my first pair of Bean boots.
I read and followed Beans sizing recommendation. I wear a 12 usually & bought a size 11 like suggested and they fit perfectly! I read all the reviews and determined the positives outweighed the negative cry babies. I liked this pair so well that I bought the Bean zipper boot model also... That pair also that perfectly!!!!!

Gave the Guys the Boot(s)
For Christmas I bought a pair of the 8-inch Shearling-lined boots for each of my two sons and each of my two sons in law. I have a pair myself that I think are great and I thought that they all would like them. They all love them. I was a little unsure of the sizing but guessed right on the sizing for three of the 4. The fourth was not 100% sure on the sizing. He is going to walk around his house with them for a while to see. The sizing was pretty much as indicated in the catalogue. It depends to a large extent on the socks that you expect to wear. However, I thought that maybe they run more true to size than indicated in the catalogue.

Comfortable, Runs large
Comfortable but run a bit larger, recommend sizing down. Normally wear a size 10 sneaker, purchased these boots in a size 9 and they fit perfectly.

Good boot.
Good boot. Old boot is so old it is not on Bean's records and can't read the label, but still work well. Got these to have a prettier looking pair. Ended up used by son and grandson over Christmas for going out in the snow, slush, and now mud.

Attractive, comfortable, but cold
These boots are comfortable as shoes and stylish, but very cold. Definitely not a good boot for northern winters. Fleece lining is only in the upper and insulation around the foot is minimal.
