An Okay boot
Lacing is an issue, I added D-rings and it helped. The boots are lightweight for sure. Are they comfortable? They are okay. I use them just as a daily boot for running errors. Still working to improve the lacing issue. I could have gone with my shoe size and not going up 1/2 a size

Well designed, good function and fit
These boots go a good job keeping my feet toasty warm in the Maine winter snow. The lacing is great, the eyelet design keeps the boot snug. The fit is appropriately generous for a medium width and not restrictive/ no pressure points. For quick trips, and casual wear between ski boot or cycling shoe changes, I can slip into the boot with the top pair of eyelets united and loose with the second and third pair of eyelets also loosened without worrying the boot will fit sloppily or fall off, also, the laces don't drag on the ground when I do this. The lacing does take a little longer than a boot with metal grommets but you get a reliable fit for the extra 30 seconds spent lacing (even if it isn't all the way laced up and tied). Also, they look like Jedi boots for your next cos play or if you just want to feel like a rebel defending Hoth against the evil Empire. The traction is a bit slick but these are not lug soled nor 5.10 rubber so the boots do a fine job of being an ultralight waterproof mid boot- just as the name suggests.

Great looking boots
I bought these for my 20 year old son to wear at college when the weather is bad. He absolutely loves them. He didn’t want something that screamed “snow boots” and these are perfect. He also said they are very comfortable and well made.

Laces way too short, still nice boots, read…
Comfy sleek boots. But Tough to squeeze into and the laces it came with are WAY too short. Hate to go buy new laces right off and LL bean seems like everything needs to be broken in a lot before the product shines. I am holding out hope. An accurate rating would be 2-3 stars but they could end up being 4-5 stars after 1 winter.

Will keep your feet warm which means toes also
My wife has had a pair for awhile and quite recently ordered another pair out of fear bean will discontinue and/or redesign for next season which may or may not be as effective. I now have three pair and would have ordered another for just in case however size 7 goes out of stock sooner. These are light and comfortable.

Nice boot

Modifications needed to lacing
Just got them and did discover that the lacing system was terrible. A $5 hardware purchase seems to be the solution. I bought 12 D-rings (tweaked the a bit) and now the lacing is quick and easy. I did go up a 1/2 but not sure if I really needed to. The boots will be my short error boots, no major out of doors workouts.

Warm and dry.
The boots are very warm and comfortable for walking in snow. The waterproofing works well and kept my feet dry. Some improvements are needed with the lacing as they are hard to lace and unlace. Rather than loops for the laces the top two hole should be hooks instead for easier lacing up.

Looks great, horrible lacing and fit
Great looking boot and extremely light weight. Horrible lacing system. I was unable to put the boots on without unlacing the top 3 rows. Lacing going thru the strap-loops is extremely tight. You can't just pull the laces to tighten. You have to take each lace loop, left and right sides of the boot, and tighten individually. This is a terrible design and completely unusable. Did llbean look at this in the design phase before beginning production?

These boots are made for walking
Boots are as advertised. They are super light weight, true to size or maybe just slightly big. If you had a large/wide foot they may not be a great fit, but I have a pretty average width foot and they fit well. The soles are narrow for a boot, feels more like a shoe.

Narrow and terrible laces
Ordered my normal LL Bean boot size online. This one runs shockingly narrow. The lacing is SO stiff and it was almost impossible to get my foot in the boot at all. I wanted to like these but nope they're going right back.

Love these boots!
These boots are awesome! Two things: They do run small. I have big wide feet, so I ordered a size up and they are perfect! Do not believe the lace issue. Like previous reviewers- if you understand how laces work, these boots are easy on and off. Hint- you loosen up laces to get your feet in and out of boots. :)

Great Boot but does run a little small.
Read all the reviews and decided to order up one size and the fit is perfect. The clasps loosing up quickly and after leaning the order to loosen and tighten the laces, it became a non issue. These boots are very light, warm and extremely comfortable.
I am very happy with this purchase.

These boots are super lightweight and are waterproof.
More than anything I'm writing the review to state they are easy to get on and take off. Other reviews on here claiming difficulties with getting them on and off. Those are end user errors who don't understand how laces work.

To tight - Forever to lace.
They run way to small. I think these boots are made for women. It is almost impossible to lace them up. Don't belive me . Be brave and buy a pair. The quality of Bean's products has gone way down hill.

good boot but hard to get on
Getting the boots on are a chore, but when they are on they're warm and light. The loosening and tightening of the string is tedious and the neck(?) of the boot is a little too tight for stepping into. I have since donated them to a local shelter.

I bought these a couple years ago, right after the redesign of the 1st generation. The wide option is key for me—thank you footwear designers!
The best attributes are the warmth, comfort & light weight. They are WP, but if you try hard enough, you can get your feet wet. For me that’s happened once, & that alone earns them a 5th star. The lacing is a little odd toward the top; they’ll catch at the ankle & not pull snug below, so you have to go down & pull them through loop by loop when you want a perfect fit. The upside to the lacing is that once they’re in place, they do not slip. At all. Another 5-star attribute.
If/when the next-gen is up for design, I have only 2 recommendations: offer an extra-wide width (I’m a 4E!); and an Arctic Grip version. That would make these boots p-e-r-f-e-c-t.

Needs a design correction
Design for the laces is awful. This is my worst LL Bean purchase. I never did get the laces loose enough to try the boot on. Will be returning. Info on length and width sb na but unable to submit without moving the slider on these questions.
