3 and done with backpacks
Was purchased for grandson, hes a junior in high school. This is his 3rd LLBean bag since kindergarten. Expdcts to finish college with this one. I have 11 grands and they average about 5 years per backpack. They pick, i pay. They have lunch boxes too. Those last longer.

Another great product
I ordered this backpack for my high school son. If this one proves to be like the others it will last him through high school and into college. We have loved LL bean backpacks since my we had our first child over 22 years ago. Our twin daughters are still using their kindergarten backpacks and they are in their junior year of college.
I will say this one seems a little heavier than some in the past that we have ordered. My son is 6’1 and it fits him perfect. He loves the space it has and the added protection for his chrome book is awesome. Thanks LL Bean for another great product.

My son loves the bag. This is 1st time we bought from LLbean.
Color: the color we chose was in the shade of green and it’s just the right color green, not too bright.
Capacity: there is enough space for my 11th grade son’s school supplies. We specifically bought it because he wanted a small extra pocket for his wallet, ID badge, and earpods. He can also hang his chrome book on the side of the bag and umbrella on the side pocket. Just was also the same as the one he had for 10th grade from another brand but this is much better. You could tell by the stitching quality and the material that they used.
Price: much more expensive than the other brand-worth it.
Shipping: it arrived on time and the packaging was in good condition.
I would highly recommend it and would come back and purchase again. I hope the price would be more affordable.

Great bag but didn't last a year without ripping

Not what I expected
I bought the mineral gray/asphalt color. The sizing is perfect to fit all my daughter's school supplies in it, but when it came in the colors were much darker than I expected it to be. The picture showed it to be much lighter and have small coral straps on the front, but it was a much darker shade of gray and the small straps were very red in real life making it a bit boyish looking. Still I would definitely recommend it for those who need more space and organization!

Roomy bag but straps are poor quality
We bought this bag for my older son before he started his sophomore year. The idea was to have a roomy and sturdy bag that would fit his laptop and other supplies. The bag certainly had enough room to for his laptop, several binders and his other supplies. But the quality is disappointing. One of the straps began to rip towards the 2nd half of the year. I was hoping this was an exception and was considering buying a similar bag for my younger one but now I'm seeing other reviews citing the same problems. Considering the price tag, I wish the company would stand behind the quality

Great bag…except for the straps!
As a mom I was so excited about this bag for my high schooler. It could fit everything he needs, hence its name “portable locker”. We purchased this expecting typical llbean quality - anticipating it to be a high school through college bag. He didn’t make it through his freshman year without the straps beginning to tear at the seams. We were pretty disappointed at this flaw in construction that has ruined an otherwise great bag. I had not read the other reviews, but now I see that this is a common problem. We are returning our bag. I’m hoping L.L. Bean has fixed this problem!

I see some reviews which had the same problem as me— the straps began to tear within the first few months of the schoolyear. My child was able to use it until the end of the year, but we decided to go with another brand for the future. It’s upsetting as I purchases LL Bean bags for my daughter through elementary and middle school, but this bag was just not the same quality and care as I came to expect from the company.

Straps didn’t hold up
2 of my kids used these bags for 7th and 9th grade. By the end of the first semester the stitching at the top of the straps on both bags started unraveling, some of the reflective material wore off, and the straps overall weren’t looking great. :( Disappointed In the quality for the price.

Best backpack
I’m in the respiratory program, and I have to bring all of my textbooks with me to class. I love this bag, and it’s so spacious. I have six textbooks, a laptop, headphones, 3 binders, large pencil case, stethoscope case, and more, and it fits everything!
