Perfect for Scotland Vacation
I purchase this for my trip to Scotland to visit family. The Petite-Lg was perfect giving room to layer up with a sweater if needed. The large front pocket was marvelous for collecting sea glass while walking along the beach or for carrying my change-purse or passport when in town.
Quality is good, felt cosy warm for maritime windy weather. Can't say how it did with rain as, OMG! we didn't get any while in Scotland!!! Its colorful and fun to wear. I'm even thinking of buying another multi colored one as this is the type of clothing I could live in.

One of my favorite all time clothing purchases
I've owned this anorak for almost two years. It is holding up amazingly. It is such high quality, and such an amazing weight. I live in northern Utah and I wear this jacket about 8 months out of the year. I swear I can wear this when it's 60 degrees out and when it's 30 degrees out. My only note of caution is that it is very difficult to take off, if you have any should range of motion issues, I'd go with the full-zip version.

Jacket went to Banff
I bought this jacket for camping and hiking in Banff end of August through early September. It was perfect: lightweight, easy to pack, warm, and water resistant. I sized up to a medium to layer a sweatshirt underneath. This jacket was warm and wind resistant without being bulky. We hiked in snow, rain, 40° etc with no issues. I do wish it came in a full zip also; this one is a little hard to get on and off quickly.

My Apocalypse Jacket
If you asked a relative to draw a generic picture of me, it would probably feature this jacket. Joking aside, this anorak might be the most worn item in my closet. If I unexpectedly needed to evacuate and could only take a couple of articles of clothing , this would be one. It has kept me dry in a downpour in Pittsburgh, kept me warm in the Sonoran Desert after dark, and kept the wind off me while fishing in Montana. It's great for temperatures from about 65° if you wear it with a tank top underneath to about 30° with a fleece quarter zip underneath. The zip top pocket is great for stuff you don't want escaping, and the open pocket is nice for things you need easy access to, like dog poop bags. It washes up super nicely if you turn it inside out and tie the hood ties. Also, it is the perfect size for a travel pillow when packed in its own pocket, and I have used it for that purpose on a couple of occasions. Honestly, I have put this jacket through the ringer and it hasn't failed me yet.
A note on size: I am about 5 ft 9 and wear a 34G bra. I typically buy a medium tall in jackets so that the sleeves are long enough and it isn't too tight through the chest. The medium in this model was huge on me, so I bought a regular small instead

All Purpose Anorak in Cool Weather
I like an anorak style jacket so I am pleased that LL Bean has a few options. I love the colors of these too. I ordered Large Petite and I am 5’2” and about 135 lbs. A medium would have worked but I like the extra room for layers, but others might think it is too baggy. I would worry smaller might be a bit constricting at the shoulder girth for active wear (for reaching etc). I wear this in cool temps (30’s to low 50’s) and have been on lots of hikes with it, then for errands after hikes, and it is the right weight for moderately cool…stayed dry in a very light rain. I will say that pit zips would be a great addition for how I am using it… as it could do with more ventilation during hikes.

I purchased the insulated anorak. I wear this ALOT. It's very warm without adding bulk. I will wear a shaper or light shirt under and go out for hours without getting cold. Looks great with jeans or leggings. Will definitely purchase a couple more.

Easy to wear
Surprisingly warm for how lightweight it is, easy to take on/off and layer with sweaters. I got it a size bigger than I truly need and I like all the room and range of motion. I also like how long it is, I'm post-partum, so I've got some lower belly fupa that it covers nicely. Really comfortable and it's sort of retro-looking and cool. I got compliments right away on the design/colors. Super happy with this, it was my go-to this winter. I also own a really cute big parka but I hardly wore it because it's so heavy and this was way easier to wear and just as warm if I put on layers. Love it.

Worth It! Warm and Good Quality
I own a few regular LL Bean anoraks and adore them. I wanted a bit more warmth for the winter, so I decided to order the insulated version, knowing the quality and durability would be well worth the price. It is! I sized up so I could wear plenty of layers underneath and it’s been wonderful. The colors are beautiful and I always receive compliments when I wear my anoraks.

Stylish and fun to wear!
This is a great jacket for outdoors and casual activities. It is very stylish and comfortable to wear and there is plenty of storage space in the pouch pocket! One thing to note: getting into it and out of it is like putting a shirt on or off. If you have any shoulder issues it could be a problem. As I was taking it off, I thought a side zipper would make getting it on and off easier. Overall I really like it.

Great wind/water resistant jacket.
Great insulated jacket. Love it for walks around neighbor, errands, et al. It has kangaroo pockets that are great as well zipper pouch. I have not used it much for trail hiking as have other jackets that seem more suited to this activity.

Great for city travel with toddler
I purchased for a trip to Portugal (60s, raining) and we have found ourselves accidentally in Boston (32, windy) for a day without any cold weather gear. The coat was perfect with a bulky cotton sweater under it. It blocked the wind and the hood kept my head warm. When we stepped inside for coffee or museums though, I didn’t overheat. The pocket space is endless and I easily carried a large Gatorade bottle and my phone in the pouch without any bother (not to mention train tickets, a pacifier, and some cookies). Boxy comfortable fit without being bulky under my toddler’s backpack carrier. Big winner.

Warm jacket
Very good jacket because of the kangaroo pocket. It frees your hands and holds lots of stuff. My only suggestion is make this jacket in solid colors. Not a fan of the color blocking.
