Great pants for hiking and travel
I own several pairs of lightweight hiking pants and needed a heavier pair for colder weather. The Riverton pants are ideal for me because they're sturdy and flex when needed. Plus, they look nice for traveling and casual dining. I like these pants and immediately bought a second pair.

Great pant
Second pair. Durable and comfortable -- especially for long airplane flights. Back pockets seal with Velcro which makes quickly grabbing your wallet a tad difficult, but no concerns about losing it. Highly recommend.

Comfortable, Rugged and Versatile
I've worn the Riverton Pants for a couple of years and have several pairs. They are my go-to pants for environmental field work, outdoor recreation and casual dress. I appreciate many features, including the non-slanted (jeans style) deep front pockets and side cell phone pocket, as well as the articulated knees and gussetted crotch. While some folks don't appreciate the Velcro on the rear pocket flaps, I really like this feature, whereas I have piece of mind that the pockets' contents will stay put while roaming through woods, fields and trails. No pants are perfect, but these are close.
My only suggestion is that the pants be offered in a natural fit as well as the standard version.

Great pants
These pants fit me well. I'm 150 lb/5'11" and have the 32/32 size. I put one roll up on the pants legs to shorten them slightly. The side pocket is perfect for an iPhone. The color does fade a bit in the wash. I don't like velcro on pockets, though, so I remove the rough half of all the velcro closures. It's tedious to do, but worth it for me. I have two pairs of the tan and one of the dark. I like the colors.

Fifth Pocket
This pocket on the leg is almost perfect. The operative word is almost. It is one and a half (1 ½) inches too shallow to hold my iPhone securely.
Second caveat: great flaps on pockets -- the velcro is not necessary, it is only a hindrance.

Best Pants I've ever bought.
It currently, mid August, and I bought these pants three months ago at the beginning of the summer. I work a summer job that involves spending a lot of time in the woods, so I needed a durable pair of pants. Over the course of the past few months, these pants have been taken through some of the worst terrain you can find in Maine. Scrambling up hillsides, bushwhacking through waist high briar patches, navigating through swamps, thorn bushes, brush piles, rock piles etc. Throughout all of this, these pants have held up better than I would have thought possible, not a single seam was ripped or thread pulled out. With what I used them for this summer, I essentially torture tested these pants, and they held up better than I could ever have hoped for. Recommend 10/10

A good fitting pair of pants that are rugged and have a very thoughtful pocket layout. I love the phone pocket and zippered side pocket. My favorite pants for everyday wearing. Not a stretch fabric, so sizing runs close to true to slightly smaller than competitors.

The husband loves them. Shocking!
Bought this pair for the husband. Fit and comfort is on target. The knee darts make it! The husband loves them-and he doesn't like any pant's even though he's thin and active. Durable enough to last at least another 10 years or more.

Favorite Pant
I have every color of the original Riverton. Hands down my favorite pants. When I noticed that one of my original ones was starting to show some signs of wear, I thought, I better order a replacement. When I saw that they were no longer (searched on the item number) I was bummed. Then I figured out that they had some changes and were not the same item number. After reading reviews about some not liking the new fabric, I thought about not ordering them. Glad I did. I actually like the newer version better. My only complaint with the old version was that there wasn't enough room in the crotch but I only noticed it when getting in and out of my car. I always feel like I'm going to rip the crotch. The newer version has just enough extra room now and I like the feel of the new material. As far as fit goes this is what I like about LL Bean and why 90% of my wardrobe is LL Bean. I can order the same size in any item and it always fits the same unlike some brands where a 32x30 is too short and another it's too long. I order the same size in any LL Bean pant and it fits the same. Same goes for shirts. I just wish there were some more colors available. I would order more.

Pants are true to size. On the downside, they are overly generous in the thigh area-almost baggy. Nevertheless they are quite comfortable and wash up well and need no ironing. Would buy again.

No Longer have Maple color, the best color
I can not believe it. Who is making the color choices? I love this paint style. Best color is (was?) Maple. No longer available?! Geeze, Driftwood and Wood Bark are so blah. LL Bean has me scratching my head on this one.

Love these pants, please bring back the 36 inseam!
I bought a pair of these pants a while back and love them, they're great for work or anything outdoors. I really, really want to purchase more pairs but the 36 inseam hasn't been available for months. Please bring back that size, you'll sell a lot more pairs of these!

Softer fabric than previous versions of this pant, but just as tough. Good all-around, all weather fabric that also looks great. Has a useful phone pocket, but I cut out the Velcro inside that because it scratches up the case
