Perfect fit, comfy
These shoes are really comfy, I wore them first time for a longish strenuous hike (10 miles) and had no problems with fit. The tallness bruised my shin a little but that's because I never wear anything else but slippers and running shoes, so I'm not used to it. I'm a woman and wear 7 1/2 EE wide and these boots did not feel too long although a little longer than needed but had plenty room for my very very wide feet. I was a little worried that I'd keep bumping my toes part into rocks and roots and the like but I didn't. Perfect shoes, some warmth, and really good mud and slosh protection!

Comfortable and Perform - thus far.

I've had these boots for a year now, very happy with them. If it's a little chilly, these are great. If it's cold, add a pair of thick socks and you are all set. Comfortable and warm and waterproof.

too big and poorly designed
my normal shoe size is 8.5 but I got size 8 and it was still way too big. also, the tongues are too wide so when I tied them, the material on the side of the tongues bunches and folds and presses painfully into the front/sides of my ankles.

Good boot, but with small issue.
About three years ago. I bought a pair of these boots in green suede. They were on clearance. I wear these in Fall and Winter here in North Idaho. They are warm in every temperature I have used them in so far. My feet stay dry as well. The only problems I have had with them is, the inner liner in one of them wants to hook up my heel inside the boot. This has been overcome by using a long boot shoehorn. The other minor problem has been that the same boot has developed an annoying squeak. I still wear them despite these problems. With as much as I wear them, the souls still look new, with very little wear.
I tend to wear out souls quickly. I bought my wife a pair of ladies Storm chasers. She has had hers for about a year and a half. She wears them in winter and loves them!

The right boot
I was looking for a daily wear boot for cold, wet days of winter. I have a waterproof, non-insulated lowcut shoe. I have a taller, heavily insulated boot for extreme cold. This fits in the middle, as I expected. Good look, right feel, comfortable, waterproof and right amount of insulation. Bean Boots checked all the boxes. Extremely satisfied!!

Comfortable winter wear, that look good also.
Comfortable fitting boots with some insulation. Comfortable walking in. I did add my orthotic insoles. Purchase was to replace a heavy pac that I wore for snowshoeing. These are much lighter and easier on the legs. Waiting for enough snow to put them to the test.

I'm from the Boston area and was heading to the Pacific North West to explore the Oregon coast and visit CraterLake Nat Park late October. I heard the weather was going to be inclement, rain and possible snow. Im very glsd I went to LL Bean and purchased these boots as we experienced both snow and rain. The boots are true to size, insulated and waterproof very comfortable, heavy though

Wet Feet
I bought these boots last year to use as winter hikers. Love everything about them EXCEPT they are not waterproof or even water resistant. Hiked through tall, wet grass and the boot interior and my feet were soaked. I have worn LL Bean Maine Hunting Boots for years and loved them. Thought these would be the same but I was wrong.

The fit.
I have feet like a duck - very wide in front (toes) / very narrow in back (heel). Over the years I've found the best (most comfortable) shoes tend to be a little larger (maybe 1/2 size) than what fits in the store. These (EE) fit well. Even when walking, my feet remain snuggly in place, they're not to too tight and there's no heel movement. I initially purchase the low version Storm Chaser, but then decided to compare them to the lace-up version. Significant difference. Returned the slip-ins, keeping the lace-up ones..

Lace up boots for good fit. Warm and very water proof. Even have a bit of a heel for gaiters. Good sized heel for stability. Have the zippered version of these as well. Got these for better water proofing in streams.

Good for moderate winter conditions.
Not a bad low elevation boot. I would not recommend High Peak winter hiking. I replaced removable insole with a pair of “SuperFeet” winter rated insoles for more warmth and foot and arch support. Even with that feet were cool snowshoeing in 20 degree temperatures. Leather appears to be good but I would recommend a water proofing treatment of some kind, I used Skidmore’s Beeswax waterproofing. Not for mountaineering but with some tweaking a comfortable recreational winter and snowshoeing boot.
