A new twist on a nautical tradition, our Irish fisherman cardigan sweater features a flattering shorter length and a more fitted style. In soft cotton yarns, with a beautiful open-stitch fair isle pattern.
The original fisherman's sweaters of the Aran Islands were knit with designs that told stories of a rich coastal heritage. From good luck to a plentiful catch, special sentiments were represented in each and every stitch. We've recreated these details in a fitted yet easygoing silhouette, beautifully detailed with a classic Fair Isle design.

This is the fourth version of this cardigan I’ve purchased so far. When possible, I order petite sizing. The anchor version was available in regular size, but it still works for me. These cardigans are among my favorites. They are comfortable and attractive. I look forward to seeing (and purchasing) the next iteration in this line!

Ducks! Cardigan! Perfect combo for comfort!
Loved this sweater the second I laid eyes on it! I’m slightly obsessed with ducks and cozy sweaters, so what a perfect combination. It feels very well made and has weight to it, but incredibly comfy when worn. I’m confident this sweater will bring me joy and comfort for years to come! I purchased a size up for an oversized fit and it’s perfect!

Might size up?
I wear petite small consistently in Bean, sometimes XS. I ordered petite small and it’s more fitted than I’d like for a sweater like this. I’m sizing up to a petite medium. I got the flower one, it’s very thick cotton, and doesn’t have a lot of give. I’m saving this for a fall/winter sweater, and I’d wear a fitted long sleeve tee under it, but at petite small, it bunches and is a little tight in the shoulders. If I wore it as a cardigan, petite small could work, but just barely. The sleeves are the right length and the length is great, not too long. It’s a beautiful and quality sweater. I imagine I’ll get a ton of compliments. Worth the splurge.
