Great fitting coat
I’m 6’4” 215lbs and the size large tall fits great. The sleeves are smooth in the inside so it doesn’t cling to my long sleeve shirts when taking it off. The coat has been plenty warm so far this winter.

Not really a jacket
Good lightweight liner. Too thin to be called a jacket. Ideal for fall or spring or cool summer evenings. I’ve been looking for an 850 fill down jacket forever, without any luck. This was not it. Very nice hooded light jacket, but not something to wear in cold weather. My search continues.

Stylish, Comfortable...Lacks Warmth
This jacket is great looking and the fit for me is perfect. The hood is also nice as it fits the way it should. However, I am greatly disappointed in the warmth this jacket provides. It does feel like it's windproof but for top of the line down fill and at the selling price, it does not keep me warm. I wore this for the first few times when the temperature outside was in the mid 30s with a light wind. It did not keep me warm. I had to resort to wearing an LLBean Fleece jacket underneath which greatly added to the warmth. However, I would expect this type jacket to be more than adequate with mid 30s temperatures without having to wear an additional layer. I would expect to need additional layers on days with temps in the 20s and below. When the jacket arrived it was flat with very little "puffing" of the down. I placed it in the dryer on low with dryer balls and it did puff it up somewhat but not enough. But my opinion is for this price there should be much more fill which would keep me warm. I'm going to keep the jacket as it is good for fall weather with a layer but I will not be able to wear this in the dead of winter except as an under layer.

Light-weight warmth with room for layers.
As I purchased the jacket this summer, I have not had a chance to review it in winter weather. However, if my research is correct, I expect it to provide the light-weight warmth I require for moderate activity. I have a similar L.L. Bean jacket recently purchased, and made this purchase based upon its excellent performance. I buy a larger size to accommodate layers as needed.

Comfortable, warm, packable down jacket
I really like this jacket, nice and lightweight, compresses small for backpacking into it's own pocket, but has a good amount of down loft in it. I ordered in large like I normally wear and the fit and freedom of movement is good. I am able to layer a fleece jacket underneath. Outside pockets are well placed and reasonably roomy. The hood is a little on the large size if you are not wearing a hat but okay, if you are wearing a hat, it's a good fit (at least for me). I like how the neck area has fabric to protect your neck from the zipper. The fabric is reasonably soft, I feel like I could sleep in this jacket in a sleeping bag on a cold night. Length is long enough to provide extra warmth on a windy day.

Good but needs improvement
Really good attempt at the perfect down hoody, but needs work. It has one internal drop pocket on one side, but the jacket has two sides, why not two drop pockets inside? The baffles in the hood are rather large and seem to allow the down to flatten out, could they be smaller baffles and therefore maintain the puff? Do we really need the LLBean logo printed on the left front top and the center top back? I believe this style has been discontinued, so I hope it is for improvements and not lack of interest. It has the potential to be the greatest! Large Tall is sized very well.

Finally, the right “coat”

A REAL TALL SIZE
I struggle to find tall sizes especially for a 37" sleeve length. This did it! Nice jacket that fits a tall trim frame that I am. I don't typically do reviews but hopefully this will benefit someone of similar build type looking for a nice jacket.

Good jacket for us tall people
Really like this jacket. I'm a 6'6" 270 lb, and the 2XLT fits me well. Very warm jacket. I live in Michigan, so I'm used to the cold weather. It's even a little bit too warm for me for about freezing.

Toasty and pockets
Toasty and comfortable. I’m a flight instructor and I’m always out in the cold and wind. I like this coat because it’s not bulky but it stops the wind from piercing through me and it’s warm. But in the little planes I fly I still have plenty of space and movement ability. I’m a female but bought a men’s because I wanted the chest pocket which is not on the woman’s coat. I use this pocket for my glasses so I can get to them quickly and they are not crushed by seatbelts. I wish the women’s had a handy pocket like that. I also LOVE this men’s color with the orange “highlights”. I’m about to stuff it and take it on a trip!

Down Hooded jacket
The best feature of this jacket is the light weight and small amount of space that it takes up. This is great for hiking !! The warmth is good...perhaps not quite as warm as a more "puffy" down jacket.

Nice coat, but some details leave you wanting more
Weight and warmth are on target. The pockets are too low, and not insulated on both sides. The waist should have a draw string to shut off wind blowing up the coat. The drawstring is on the bottom of the coat, which is on your legs, so it doesn't seal it off.

Ultralight 850 down jacket
I purchased this jacket because it was on sale. I have owned a navy blue jacket for 2 years and love it. Light weight and great through a range of temperatures. My only complaint with this red jacket is that it shows the down feathers 🪶.

I highly recommend this coat
I have one of these coats without a hood so I though I would add one with a hood. I have done a lot of travel and these coats are perfect. light weight and very warm. I love the zippered pocket in front to hold tickets, my phone or sunglasses. I would highly recommend this coat.

Super warm lightweight jacket
My husband loves this jacket I gifted to him for his birthday. He loves that is very lightweight and super warm. He’s sometimes hard to fit because he’s so tall (6’3”) but the L TALL gives him the sleeve length he has a hard time finding in other brands. Hood is a bonus. Purchased while on sale so feels like a very good value.
