A shadow of it's former self
I'm disappointed. I bought one of these several years ago and loved it. The one I just bought as a replacement looks significantly thinner and less puffy, and is1.3 ounces lighter. In other ways, it looks identical, so I assume there is 1.3 ounces less down in the new one. That doesn't sound like much, but is quite significant in the total amount of down, and therefore less warmth.

Loose feathers!
Dissapointed in how it keeps “leaking” feathers on my sweaters and shirts!

Lightweight and oh so warm! Plenty of room for layers underneath (but you won’t need them!).

Men’s ultralights 850 Down Jacket
I bought this for my husband’s birthday. He loves it! Perfect for looking dapper on dates and xc skiing in the mountains of the northeast kingdom. The thyme green is a rich, dark color.

Super light, super awesome!
This coat is perfect for temps below freezing. Zipper operates pretty smoothly and the shell keeps the wind out. I bought this jacket to replace my old winter coat and it is an upgrade.

Perfect Puffer
This puffer jacket fits the bill for a warm and lightweight and non-bulky coat that I wear going to the gym or driving around doing errands. The fit and quality are great!

Nice design
I’ve had it here in N Wisconsin for 10 days or so. Outdoor temps have ranged from the 20s to 1 degree right now. I’m out blowing snow but not in an LLBean coat. This down coat is a complete flop for air invasion making the down a laughing matter. If you think I’m disappointed you’re correct. For $250 its not good at 15-20 deg and below and not ever in the wind. I can use it as a garage coat where the temp is 50 plus. You die quickly if this coat was all you had. It’s an undergarment only or usually.

not waterproof at all
I just broke this jacket out recently and have taken dog sout in the snow a few times.
Each time the jacket soaked all the way through to my underlayer. Not remotely waterproof.
Totally unhappy with this purchase and I have A LOT of LL bean gear

Ultralight 850 Down Jacket
I've had this jacket for a month now. It's very light weight and the outer fabric is on the shiny side. I'll comment on the warmth of this jacket. To me, it has the right warmth for our southern Missouri winters. This jacket will keep you warm on a winter walk with just a long sleeve shirt underneath. For temperatures between say, 10º and above with no wind, you'll stay warm. Add a 10 mph or above breeze and you might feel a little chilled. Temperatures above 20º with wind, you should be just fine. At temperatures above 30º, you might be too warm. To the designer's credit, it has a YKK zipper too.

Warm & Light
I was skeptical about whether or not the jacket would keep me warm since it was so light. Happy to say, it did not disappoint. It is surprisingly warm for the cold Winter days in PA.

Beautiful Coat / Poor Performance
I recently ordered this coat intended to be a lighter casual coat to wear in the moderate Carolina winters. The garment arrived and it is well made, attractive and should provide quality service. I have no complaints as to its appearance and workmanship.
However, the major short coming is that it is "thin" and allows wind to penetrate through the fabric. Advertised as a "down jacket" is somewhat correct but the product description should state that the coat would best be worn at temperatures above 40 degrees. I recommend that the garment should be modified to have a lightweight "liner fabric" incorporated between the layers to avoid the wind penetration and yet the coat would still be lightweight. As currently manufactured, the wearer should layer to be comfortable while wearing this coat. For myself, rather than spend the money for this garment, I am better served buying a less expensive "windbreaker". As a consumer of LL Bean for over 50 years, this coat is one of my few criticisms of LL Bean clothing and unfortunately, I have returned the garment for refund.

Previous version was better
I previously had two of these coats purchased a few years apart. It was time for a new one but this time they cheapened up the design. These are not as puffy and warm as they were previously and the stitching on the arm cuffs was loose. Bring back the old quality.

Lightweight but Toasty Warm
I bought this jacket for winter wear in New England. It's light in weight but toasty warm so far in temperatures as low as 0 F. For those of your who travel by air, this jacket is perfect as it takes up little space when folded. I'm pleased with the material quality, design and styling.
