Replaced Poles at My Expense
As many have noted, the poles with this otherwise wonderful tent, are terrible. Mine bent the first time I set up the tent, and got worse each camping trip. No confidence that they won’t beak, and couldn’t pitch the tent properly with all the bends. I ended up buying a whole new set of high quality custom made wooden Easton poles from another company. Shouldn’t have to replace all the poles on a brand new tent, I hope LL Bean will supply better poles in the very near future and maybe consider reimbursing or replacing at THEIR expense poles of recent customers. We love the tent otherwise and have been Bean customers for decades, sad to see these low quality components. As I mentioned in my previous review, Bean did replace one of my poles, but the other poles and the Bean replacement bent on the next one night camping trip. They were very helpful in supplying me the specs I needed to purchase the new 3rd party poles.

Awesome Tent, Terrible Poles
We have had two Bean 4 person dome tents prior to this one which served us well for many years. The main tent and fly of this latest version are wonderful, however as many have mentioned, the aluminum poles are very poor quality and stay bent after use. Great customer service, LL Bean replaced the bent poles after the first time we set up the tent, unfortunately the replacement poles also stay bent. Looking into buying some third party poles of higher quality as we really do like the tent otherwise. I hope Bean will correct this pole problem in the near future. The footprint is worth getting and the tent is storm worthy, easy to set up and has great ventilation.

My last Bean tent?
I bought this tent two years ago to replace a dome tent I'd used for 25 years and finally had to say goodbye to because the fly started to leak. This one should be great -- it's roomy, keeps me dry in the rain, is easy to set up -- but the poles. I've used it about a dozen times and the poles are bent badly. Each time I set up the tent I worry this will be the time a pole snaps instead of bending as it should. Instead of bending in a smooth arch, they look like hell. I miss my old Bean dome tent. I've been a Bean customer for 40 years. A store than knows the outdoors should know to sell a better tent with its name on it.

Great tent
This is a great little tent! Downsized to this for my husband and since the kids are all grown up. Its roomy enough for the two of us, easy to set up and take down. Just stuffit in the bag which has a nice handle on it. We camped through a thunderstorm and stayed nice and dry.

Great tent other than the poles
Hello, we have just come back from using this tent for 4 nights. The tent was easy to set up and did not leak a bit, even during a night of heavy rain. I would definitely recommend this tent, other than when we took it down, the poles were bent. I called the store, and they told me that they had seen returns because of the bending poles. I decided to keep the tent because another one would do the same thing.

perfect tent to replace 30+ yr old ll bean tent!
We had a 6 person ll bean tent for over 30 years that we were very happy with it held up in bad rain storms, high winds from the desert and any other kind of weather you could throw at it. So being as old as it was and our kids are grown we decided to down size. Looked everywhere as we didn’t want to wait for the tent as it was on back order..
But we did finally get it in and we love it high quality as expected! It’s smaller like we wanted, but I can still stand up in the center and roomy enough for our gear ! It’s perfect! Also it’s not mostly screen netting which most of the tents are now a days. It does have enough for really nice air flow on extremely hot trips! We look forward to using this tent for another 30 years! Buy looking at the quality it shouldn’t be any problem. It’s also light enough you could walk in a little bit with it as a posed to just out of vehicle. It’s not made for backpacking trips.
The set up and taking down can be easily done with one person. It only takes bout 10 minutes for one person to set up less time with 2 people.
We’ve used it every weekend since we got it in June and are loving it thanks for continuing in make the perfect tent!

Holes in the floor
Used twice on grass and the floor started to tear and a hole formed. Returned it for another one at the end of last season thinking it was defective and had to pay extra because the price increased. Just used the new one for the first time and it already has a small hole in the floor. This should not happen and is unacceptable. Very disappointed and will be returning it for a refund.

Bent Poles / Good Customer Service
Like other users, I experienced bent poles the first time I set the tent up (following the setup instructions). The permanent bend was significant. I sent pictures to LL Bean. They replaced the tent. The replacement tent has been used on 2 camping trips. Both poles on the new tent are bent. I like the tent but am disappointed in the bent poles for a $279 tent. I guess I'm stuck with permanently bent tent poles. They work but it bothers me. If I had to do it over again, I'd consider another tent.

Disappointing
I have owned Bean dome tents for decades and have experienced quality decline. As noted by reviews, it was better with 2 doors and sturdier poles. I bought this version slightly more than a year ago and camped in it 7 times. There are two holes and material color changes which I assume are signs of future holes in one of the roof panels. This is defective screen material. I discovered others have bent poles too. Screen holes are a deal breaker. My days with the Bean dome tent are over.

Poles were bent
Unfortunately, the first time I set up the tent, 2 pole sections were bent. The tent itself is very spacious and looks nice. Check those poles.

Great Tent, But Poles Bent Easily
Huge LL Bean fan...and the tent is of the highest quality except for the aluminum poles. I've used our tent at least a dozen times and I'm sorry to say that the poles simply keep on bending. I'm to the point where I'm worried about making it through another camping season. Can I purchase a spare set of poles? I really do appreciate the quality and value, but the poles are an issue.

Nice tent
We enjoy having this tent. The low profile is what we like about this one. The poles are a bigger and stronger than the previous model (and it looks like L.L. Bean might update again this Adventure Dome tent model). Hope they come up with a print version on the rainfly which we like a lot on the previous model. We take it to Rocky Mountain NP and to Yellowstone NP for car camping and here around Florida's National Forest and State Parks. Although we never encounter a heavy rain downpour and strong wind. The quality is good. Have fun and be safe out there.

Spacious, easy set-up and weatherproof
The Adventure Dome 4-Person Tent is a good value for the price. We found to be incredibly easy to set-up. The tent proved to be hearty in a rain/wind storm--remaining completely dry. The zippers on the door are well designed and easy to use.

Low Quality
We had an old version of this tent and loved it. Shape is perfect, Set-up is easy. BUT (and its a big but!) the quality isn't what it used to be. Only having one door was a deal breaker for us. Other brands in this price range seem to all have 2 doors front and back. Internal pockets aren't as roomy either as our old tent or other brands. Seemed like a lot of skimping on LL Bean's part on this tent. Bring back quality and features please!

Vast Improvement
A definite improvement over the sports store tent we had used for years. This tent is made of more sturdy (thicker) material and seems more robust. It is well designed and easy to assemble. It is ideal for 2-3 people and can fit 4, such as two adults and one or two kids. Once assembled it feels structured and stable. The zippered flaps are easy to use and allow for easy access. I particularly like that this tent has more head-room than our previous tent; the structure is more vertical with little wasted (low ceiling) space. We highly recommend.

Roomy and easy to pitch
I just got home from my third trip with this tent and I am smitten with it. It is surprisingly easy to set up and has features other dome tents do not have -- extra ground loop mid way along the sides for an extra stake, brow pole attaches directly to the tent with same type clips as the rest of the tent body, extra loops well placed inside the tent for lanterns, etc. I like the placement and amount of mesh vs tent body material -- it was 40 degrees last night and I stayed warm. The gigantic door is wonderful, and makes it easier to migrate in and out of the tent with a dog. I like the window - I prefer it to an extra door. The tent is the perfect height. The zippers operate flawlessly one handed. I'm a happy camper.
