SO easy to put up and take down. Improved design
I had the previous model shelter which worked great, but was a little hard to put up solo, and required a little more space to maneuver the poles. This is so easy in comparison. It's a little less compact because the "exoskeleton" but still really light. Also, the stripes and piping are super cute! The only accessory I'd like to see added is an optional mosquito screen for the front, if you're at a beach with black flies or similar they end up inside with you and it would be great to have a way to keep them out. I also think the exterior pockets might not be adequate sand anchors based on my experience with the old version, but the tent pegs held well in moderately firm sand.

Great for the beach and yard
I purchased this for my son and daughter-in-law as a gift -- for sun-shade for their new baby when going to the beach. They love it -- said it is larger than expected, very easy to set-up and take down, well-made, and they even use in their yard. They are located in CA -- and love it!

Doomed for hardware failure?
This was an impulse purchase. My wife loves visiting the beach. I read customer reviews after bringing it home and was discouraged by all the reviews referencing hardware failure (and not repairable). Briefly, I don’t want to spend ~$140 on a piece of hardware knowing it’s going to fail after only a few uses.

LOVE IT!

Way better than a beach umbrella...
Very well made and easy to setup and take down. If I could find one fault with it, it would be the design of the sand pouches, which are a little difficult to fully empty out. Therefore, only four stars, but overall very pleased with the purchase.

So Easy!
This is our second sunshade tent and first pop up one. SO much easier and quicker than the old one with poles. When it's hot and you are on hot sand, being able to set up this tent and take it back down in seconds is huge. Sturdy, easy, cute!

Don’t let the set up scare you
Love this shelter. It takes a bit getting used to when setting up, like making sure the poles are straight and then giving them a bit of a push to straighten out before pulling the cord. Also, when pulling the cord, keeping one hand on top of the knob helps.
Outside of learning the mechanics, it’s perfect. I have seen so many people struggle setting up their tents and we set ours and put it away in 2 minutes combined! We travel 2 hours to the beach to go surfing and this shelter allows us to stay longer because we can shield from the sun and rest.
Extra bonus: have not seen anyone else with this shelter, so it’s really easy to spot from the water.
