Issue with zipper
The backpack is great and holds a lot of items, but the flap of fabric that covers the zippers is constantly getting stuck in the zipper. Having to rip the fabric out of the zipper on a frequent basis really detracts from an otherwise great product.

Deluxe Backpack IV
We have bought LL Bean backpacks since my child started preschool and never had an issue. Our most recent purchase was the Deluxe Backpack IV. Our only compliant is the mesh on one of the water bottle pockets ripped after about 6 months of use. Looking at other reviews, we are not the only customer that has had this issue. Other than the mesh water bottle pocket, the pack back had held up well and is still in excellent condition.

30 years in the making! Dream Realized
I have wanted an LL Bean backpack since I was in high school back in 1995. My parents couldn't afford one. I was so envious of my friends with their monogrammed backpacks. Well, to celebrate my 30th high school reunion, I finally realized my dream. As a teacher and graduate student, it definitely meets my expectations!

Another great backpack
This backpack replaced one that my son had passed along to me after he used it through high school and college. It survived a lot of abuse and the new one looks like it’s made just as well, plus it has some new features. So I feel confident it will do well. I can’t think of anything that would make it better.
